Happy New Year!
Added 2025-01-01 08:49:21 +0000 UTCFor those of you still awake, it is now after midnight on the west coast, and I wanted to wish you all a happy new year.
Squid and I walked to the little park near our place that had been lit up for Christmas. We were pretty much alone, and only the tunnel was lit, but at midnight we made a wish and heard some people shout "Happy New Year" from their balconies. A new experience for us for certain.
There is a lot of fear and doubt for the upcoming future, but I'm so thankful to have made the connections here with all of you as we have bonded over our love of story. There are so many more stories to come, and I can't wait to share in them with all of you.

Maybe the key to making it through the upcoming months is to think of them as a story to enjoy. OK, perhaps "enjoy" isn't exactly the right word, but think about it - we've got underdogs to root for, villains -- LOTS of villains -- to boo, and an unpredictable plot to make us shake our heads in amazement, if not quite delight. OK, it's a stretch, but it's the best I got. π Happy New Year to you and yours, Anna.
