Ted Lasso 2x12 | Full Episode Watch Along

Inverting the Pyramid to Success

It's the season two finale, and Ted is not only facing a championship game that could lead the club to promotion, but also a trader amongst his staff spilling personal secrets to the paper.

Keely is also looking at a possible promotion as well as Sam. Is this the end of the crew?

I'm telling you, this episode left me spitting rocks. Are you ready? Let's go!

Ted Lasso 2x12 | Full Episode Watch Along

Comments

And I'm back! Rolling back my notes from the last couple episodes :D yes, I'm a Ted Lasso maniac, if there was still any doubt! here we go!! - Rebecca eating the salty biscuits... is it her being considerate of Ted, cause he's having a tough day OR does she just need them as her emotional crutch and doesn't care that they're salty? I don't know either, but it's interesting. - The importance of Akufo choosing nr 10 for Sam's shirt is explained on wikipedia as: "10" is one of the most emblematic squad numbers in football, due to the sheer number of football legends that have worn the number 10 shirt" - That confrontation with Jamie and Roy about the "I love you" at the funeral: Jamie has had therapy for some time now and it's showing, Roy’s faaaace and the running gag of Will always being there and knowing everyone’s business... beautifully done!! - I love that Isaac always calls out rule breaking (copywrite infringement) or in previous episodes not wanting people on their phone during movie night, for example. Those little things that make him a good captain and the reason why Roy chose him when he retired. - I like that for the first time, with the news of his panic attacks being public, Ted's references/pun are a bit off here. For example, he's addressing the subject with the team, he quote some person called "John Obi Wan Gandalf" 😂 - That "follow the money" from Bumbercatch (a play on Cumberbatch) is very typical of that small character that mostly no one notices... there will be more such lines from him in, for example, 3x6 and 3x11. Love that they don't neglect the side characters! - That interaction of Keeley with the Dog Lady... MY GOD, she's non-judgemental. 😂 she's just nice and let's it roll... - Love that Higgins is the most balanced person of all of them ahahah no arc needed for him!! And he gives the best advice!! - Such a difference between Keeley being so grateful to Rebecca and Nate being sooo ungrateful towards Ted!!! - YEAH, I closed my eyes when Roy spins Keeley around cause I feel he's gonna smash her head 😫😬 - question: multitasking sex and champagne? 🤔😅 I NEED TO KNOW MORE! - did I see a twinkle in your eyes at Rebecca and Keeley's crying scene? 🤩 YEY for female friendships!! - AMAZING detail, that "it hurt my feeling" 😂 Roy wanted to talk about it but won't give it all away 😅 and I think what he says there about Keeley looking so good on her own explains a bit why they broke up! (i'm only writing this, cause I know you've seen 3x1) - the "nothing fucking changes" line about the diamond dogs is a callback to Ted doing Girltalk with Rebecca when she started dating in the beginning of the season. I think the line is also EXACTLY the same... and so true! most times we just need to say some things out loud and for someone to listen, we don't need solutions! - that "renaissance painting portrait of masculine melancholy" should be framed cause it's GREAT! always makes me chucle! - I know we’re mad at Nate, but nick Mohamed is brilliant here at making by me feel guilty for being so mad. He sounds properly heartbroken and spewing hate just to relief himself in the complete wrong way. Yes he’s a man child but here in the beginning of the conversation he sounds like a small wounded child to me. And the truth is, Nate and Ted had no single scene together alone this whole season. The picture he says Ted doesn’t have anymore in his desk, is now in Ted’s apartment next to his sons picture, they showed it in the funeral episode when Ted’s dancing tight before getting his panic attack. - Jamie didn’t use to like passing or being decoy and now he gives the biggest goal opportunity to Dani. 🥹 - Of course Rebecca has champagne ready! She’s always ready!! She could go party with us any day of the week! - I love how Sam is so much the grown up there and she has to down the whole champagne glass at once. He does affect her deeply and Ted’s face is priceless 🤣 - Nate’s grey hair ! I've been waiting for you to mention it to divulge this info. They've been greying his hair (i read it's a different wig each episode) since the beginning of the season but people notice at different point. Right after Ted and Michelle separate in the first season, he goes to work a bit discombobulated and wants to start calling Beard and Nate "sweetheart". They go on a tangent about favorite bath bombs and Nate says he doesn't do baths cause his skin get all wrinkly and he's deeply afraid of aging. That's a man with many fears... and so now that he makes a turn for the worst, what do they do? They purposefully age him (one of his fears!!) episode by episode. - Now you’ve seen 2 full seasons, I can tell you something. Each of the three seasons starts and ends on the face of one particular character that will go through some change. First season was Rebecca, this season was Nate. I know you've started season 3 now, so I can already say that season 3 (and final) is of course Ted!! :) see you on the next one! congrats if you read all that and thank you soooo much for the joy of watching this with us!
