A glimpse to the future...

With Unity's HDRP (High Definition Render Pipeline) release I've started to experiment with it on my free time. And I was pretty impressed by it's capabilities and after a while of experimenting/playing with it, I've come up with idea to start making a ground for the next game.

Why the new game and not updating "The Twist" graphics ?

First of all, The Twist is not going anywhere. It will be finished as planned and till then it will be my main priority project.
Unity's HDRP is not compatible with regular render pipeline. The project can be converted but it would mess up pretty much everything that has something do to with rendering. Long story short, it would mean pretty much making a new game. So why not to make a new one and do it right.
"The Twist" is my first game, I've ever made. During it's development I've dealt with many challenges and learn a lot from it.  And I'd like to use that knowledge on the next project, design it properly from the ground. The idea is quite simple, at the moment I'll finish The Twist, to have a ground for the next game.


What's the purpose of this demo and upcoming demos?

To test various technical aspects, before starting to work on the storyline/gameplay. That is very important to do it at the start, to avoid the headache in the future, some features might not be possible to implement later at all.


How many demos and how often they will come?

I'm sure there will be many tech demos in the future. There are lot of things to test :)
There is no strict schedule for the demos. At the moment I'm working on it only on my free time, since "The Twist" is still my main priority project.


What kind of game it will be?

Gameplay-wise, it will be similar to The Twist for sure, since I want to reuse some (many! To be honest :) ) assets, characters that I've made during the last couple of years. Characters obviously will be updated. About the story itself, I haven't thought yet, and I don't want to think too much about it at the moment, while I'm still mainly working on The Twist. But I'm sure it will take place in the TwistTown and there will be familiar characters (just better looking) :)


Tech Demo #1

This demo is oriented to characters customization. The idea is to work out all possible customizations (including clothing) for the character before moving on.

Very nice. 3440x1440 jumped around between 100s and 300s. Overclocked RTX 2080 TI.

finaly got around to test it. 200-300 fps on i7-8086K, RTX 2080 at 3440x1440

I have tried reloading it several times. I get the start screen then it stops.

I am having a problem. Windows keeps shutting the program down. It says KsTdemo.exe has stopped working. Anyone else having this problem? Using windows 7.

Gtx 1050Ti 80-120 FPS on ultra setting and fullscreen 1080p, it's jumping around so fast so it's pretty hard to read
