April Portraits
Added 2022-05-01 10:55:57 +0000 UTCI opened specifically for portraits a while ago. Both of them were pretty fun! The painted one is of Bellicose's character, whereas the sketch goes to Vero, for his recently acquired and yet unnamed bull dragon that we just call MooMoo most of the time. Hahahaha.
While the sketch is relatively obvious to me (I wanted something summery, adorable and agricultural for my favorite lil cow), the "temple dragon" imagery was a unique task. Since the character is based on the colours of tarnished bronze/oxidized copper, I had a look at Chinese bronze elements: doors and kettles with their decorative studding, reliefs (especially of dragons, of course) and more. Within the limitations of a "quick" portrait, I hope I did that beautiful and interesting design some justice!

Thank you very much! The context and colour scheme of the character matter a lot! :) A good background can always help with that.

2022-05-01 13:45:29 +0000 UTCI feel quite a bit of energy in both of these. The sketch is a bit silly but also...free and sweet? Like a pleasant day being oneself. the temple dragon turned out fabulous to me. love their colors and how you presented them, especially with the background
