How do you prefer lewd scenes in games?

I'm thinking how should the lewds for Agrss play out and I also just want to get a general idea how people feel about this topic.
How do you feel about lewd games where you have manual control over the lewds?
Like you click a button to make the guy thrust or you can drag the mouse to control the movement, the faster you move the mouse the faster the animation will be.
With the previous builds of Agrss, it just plays the lewd animation and there's text over it.
I think having lines for sex like that feels pretty awkward. It always feels like I'm just trying to write whatever to give enough time for the animation.
People don't actually talk when having sex anyway.
There's also the way of an animation player where you can control which speed is playing. I would still count this as manual/having control.
Which of these do you prefer and why?

2024-01-14 07:41:00 +0000 UTCI prefer manual control with automatic as an option, a good example would be the "Houshou Player" and "Ouro Player" h-games where you can manually have the guy thrust or set it to an automatic speed with options for how fast/slow he goes. Might be more work programming-wise, but I think it would appease the most people. (It would definitely make me happy, lol.)

2024-01-14 05:22:14 +0000 UTCI enjoy both, though my expectations start to rise if the game has interaction. I dislike dragging to start a motion, a button or slider that sets the speed is ideal. If im clicking on anything else, im choosing clothing, positions, etc to try and find what i enjoy from whats available. Keep up the good work!

It really depends on the type of game but I absolutely prefer a manual/full control style. But even with manual it still needs an auto/stabilizer button. To give an example, my favorite gameplay I've experienced was in Monster Girl Island. Illusion games like Koikatsu and Artificial Academy have both manual clicking, mouse wheel scrolling and an auto button. I also like diselmine's games which your game "Cute Reapers in My Room" share. Finally since your kinetic VN AGRSS uses animated CGs its fine to have no gameplay. Nobody is constantly monologuing during sex but that's also like the crux of JP ero. Which makes it both funny and give it its charm. Either way I'm fine with or without dialogue. The most important thing in that regard is the SFX during the sex scene & the dialogue that leads UP tot he sex scene. Dialogue during teasing/foreplay/sumata is fine though.

With animations, I like the way you are currently doing them (Especially the Neu scene) Having a nice clean and smoothe looping animation with maybe with the option for dialogue or not (could be up to the player I guess). With my experience, you're the only one who actually does the animations right and they are beautiful, nothing much more for me to say on this part. but when it comes to "being able to control", It makes me think of games like Succubus affection or forest of the blue skin where I can control which scenes I want to watch from the characters of my choosing and perhaps have a manual or auto mode for the scene's progression. Course Im not entirely sure if thats helpful but its something to think about perhaps.

2024-01-14 01:19:45 +0000 UTCI like this the best. However I don't think VA work would "simply solve the text box", I think a good VA work is better than any text box or mini game. Unfortunately as you said it's a lot of work and hiring that talent is expensive, but I think a huge step up is actually voiced dialogue, and not just indiscriminate moans during the deed. Personally I don't expect "gameplay" from a VN much, and the whole "move the mouse to control the animation" or "press a button to speed up" thing is (as you said) really just a distracting gimmick. And doesn't genuinely "add" anything, at l least in my opinion.

2024-01-14 01:02:27 +0000 UTCI prefer the VN style of allowing the animation to loop while there’s dialogue. Dialogue may not be realistic, but it add to the titillation of the scene and really completes. Manual control is a fun gimmick, but unless there’s an auto button it’s kind of hard to do the deed and I just find myself getting more annoyed than anything. Personally, I thought the way it was in the original ARGGS was perfect where they say something sensual while the deed is being done, or something relevant pertaining to it, or something sexy and so on. There’s a reason why it’s a tried and true method in the most successful of smut games. If you have VA work done then you can circumvent the text with audible moans and a couple of words, or just have them voice the entire dialogue tree tho that’s more money and the only thing it solves is no text box.
