It's been a little while since the last time I made a blog/development post, and although the Colony already knows what's coming, I thought it would be nice if I put you all up to date of what I'm up to!

TDP Ch.9

Chapter 9 has no new missions for now, but as most of you have seen in the early update's changelog, the new avatars are implemented, each with their own strengths and background. Also, the introduction has been reviewed and extended with a new scene where Alex introduces The Link™ inside your brain while Lucy explains why it is necessary for you to have it, and gives you a list of the side effects it may have.

• New Stats: Credits and Corruption

On the other hand, new mechanics have been implemented, such as a "Credit" system, as well as the "Corruption" score which will measure how much control the Agency has over your brain and free will. The Palais Eros will now function via Credits (which you earn at the end of the missions) and hiring an escort will boost your morale and corruption.

In that sense, it can be interesting to visit the brothel before proceeding to the next mission and see how your MC's choices react to your Corruption score. Hopefully for next update, you will be able to visit Alex and do some special events with him in order to decrease your Corruption.

• New Art

Around 90% of the art of the Agency's places has been replaced with original images I made with Leonardo AI by training a specific Data set for TDP's Agency aesthetic, inspired in retro-futurist artists Syd Mead & Charles Schridde.

Also, Valeriusvia has done an outstanding job by illustrating the new avatars. If you haven't seen her Lucy artwork, I strongly advise you to take a quick look. She also made a suuuuuper cool Nate illustration you may enjoy in the office event where you meet him and Dr. White.

I can tell you in advance that she's re-designing Dr. Weiss, and also making a new illustration for her and Alex, which will be used in their introductions scenes and work spaces, respectively. You will see both of them for the public release.

• So why is the Public launch of Ch.9 Delayed?

Lately I've been really inspired to work on TDP. I feel like we're finally reaching a good first approach to what I intend TDP to be. I believe the new art + introduction of more interesting and flexible stats are improving the quality of the game.

Despite, I thought that even TDP looks more visually appealing, and the new stats make the game more versatile, this improvement could be affected by something some of you have been telling me: the walls of text can be pretty off-putting.

And yes, I agree.

So I decided to delay a little more the public update to finally fulfill my promise of breaking those b*tches down, while using that opportunity to introduce more dialogue role-play + grant more action flexibility, and commissioning the artwork explained above.

I think we're walking towards a pretty cool first season for this young, but promising Interactive Erotica. Public (and improved) Ch.9 will be out for next week. Once we reach Ch.10 (mission 5) + another update focused on a second mechanical review, we'll be ready to re-launch TDP with a brand new name!

Once again I got too carried away and this post has ended up being longer than I intended it to be 😅😅😅 I'll wrap it up here and leave the news for this month's poll for a later post!
