Chapter 1

Another year has passed since Ray became quite famous in the more scientific side of the Pokemon world.

In the end, this will help him to get extra cash on the side, as he released another small guidebook on how to raise a Magicarp.

Professor loved it, and it increases the survivability of Trainers who raise these types of species, it became part of the educational curriculum in Pokemon trainer academies like the Pokemon Tech.

After all, once you piss off Magicarp it can evolve into Gyarados.

So, yeah Ray, got quite a bit of cash from this, and it will help him in his Pokemon Journey.

"Honey! It's already 8 in the morning!" Ray heard his mother calling him from downstairs.

Just like most families in this world, Ray doesn't know if it's a trend or something but his mother just like Ash's mother is living alone.

According to her, his father is a Pokemon trainer just like Ash's… well more like Ash's is a Pokemon Ranger.

Well not that it matters in any way, Ray already had his childhood in his past life, this one is all about being a badass Pokemon Trainer…

"Coming Mom…" Ray dressed up in his travelling clothes, he started making his preparations several months back, and he started ordering things from all over the Pokemon world…

Dressed in a short-sleeved T-shirt and jacket on top of it, in his favourite colour of course black and dark blue while his jeans with pockets on the sides of his tights.

While his shoes are a special type of running shoes, probably the most expensive part of his clothing attire…

After grabbing his travelling backpack and his magnetic belt for his pokeballs, he descended to the ground floor.

"Sweetie there is a package for you waiting on the table." Hearing that Ray went over the table in the living room and checked what it was…

He doesn't remember ordering anything for over a week now…

Pokemon World Post works very fast, they have Pidgeot's running the whole thing… they can travel at Match 2…

Something he is planning to get his hands on…

His curiosity only peaked even further when he saw the symbol of Devon Corporation…

He opened the box and saw an orange device inside of it.

'Is that…' He picked it up it was quite a comfortable piece of equipment, he then saw a letter inside of it as well.

Ray slowly opened it, there he saw a handwritten letter.

'Hello Ray
It came to my attention that you are starting your Pokemon journey without a Pokenav, and I still have to thank you for such an incredible discovery on my named steel-types… So I decided to send you a Pokenav before it's released to the public next year… so have fun… and if you need anything my phone number is there.

Ray's eyebrow twitched reading the letter he just got, he just got the attention of another Pokemon Champion…

'No pressure at all…' He thought sarcastically.

"So who sent this package?" Ray's mother asked him, as she noticed a letter in his hand.

"Steven Stone...The Hoenn Champion…"

Her eyes widened upon hearing that.

"Wow! My son is so famous now~~~!" She pulled him into a crushing hug.

"Ahh, mom! You going to break my back!!!" Ray quickly got out of her Ursaring-level hug.

Then he quickly took the Pokenav and dashed to the kitchen.

~~~~~~Professor Oak Lab~~~~~~

Ray was the first one to arrive at the lab, he still had around half an hour before everyone was supposed to gather…

Over the years Ray was able to get Gary from his high horse, so he earned his respect, but as it stands Gary still sees Ash as 'Ashy-boy' and it is probably going to last till their Johto match…

Not that it has anything to do with him, their Rivalry is theirs alone…

"Oh, Ray… you early as usual…" Professor motioned for Ray to enter.

"If it was me, Professor, I would have started at six in the morning…" Ray smirked at the Professor.

Who only shook his head, and he thought Ash was the over-the-top excited one…

"Well, then I won't be keeping you long, knowing you already have a plan?" The Professor leads Ray deeper into his lab where three pokeballs are waiting for their trainers.

"You know us well enough Professor…" Professor only chuckled at him.

"And how I not? Not every day one of my sponsored trainers calls me and asks why his Nidoking knows fighting type moves and as well the newly discovered 'Iron Tail'?" Professor smirked at him.

Yep, Ray is quite famous in the Professor Ranch, some of the Pokemon even cried when he said that he was going on an adventure.

'After all, I was 'training' them… well more like experimenting with certain things…'

"Well...I was practising...when I will have my Nidoking…" Ray sheepishly smiled at him, but Professor only shook his head.

"Next time just record everything you do…" Professor said to him before showing the three Pokeballs.

"You know the drill, Ray my boy, Which one you pick?" Ray nodded at him and picked up the Pokeball marked with the Fire symbol on it.

"As expected, Charmander…" Professor smiled with nostalgia for a second and handed him a Pokedex and five spare pokeballs.

"I won't be keeping you, Ray, just don't forget to call from time to time…" Ray nodded at him and left through doors with extra vigour in his steps.

Leaving one amused Professor.

"I wonder how Garry is going to react to the fact that Ray has already started on his journey…Thank Arceus Ray persuaded him not to take his car…" Professor chuckles remembering how Ray owned his grandson on Pokemon knowledge and how he discreetly mentioned how he is not a trainer if he is not using his own two feet to traverse the land.

~~~~~~Route 1~~~~~~

"Pidgey!!!" Ray shouted after entering a small forest just outside Pallet Town.

Moments later a small bird flew over and landed on his extended hand.

While Pokemon trainers start at the age of ten, it doesn't mean they can't befriend Pokemon before that…

Ray has been a friend with this Pidgey since he was around nine years old, so he quite trained him up.

"Well hello, there buddy, ready for our journey?" Ray asked the bird.

Pidgey seriously nodded at him, Ray pulled out an empty Pokeball and gently touched the Tiny Bird Pokemon.

And the Pokeball reacted to this and sucked the Flying-type inside of the ball, there was not a single struggle from the Tiny Bird Pokemon inside the ball.

Seconds later there was a click and the capture was a success.

Ray looked at the Pokeball with a smile pulled out his Pokedex and checked out his first capture.

Ray smirked seeing those moves! Yep, he tough this birdy, Aerial Ace! A move yet to be 'invented' this move appeared in Hoenn by Winona originally but he tough to his Pidgey first!

He then put his Pidgey's Pokeball on his magnetic belt, pulled out his Charmander's Pokeball and scanned him…

'As expected… the basic moves…' Ray nodded to himself and returned to his journey…

He knows there is a storm today, so he is rushing towards Viridian City as quickly as possible…

He walked over and saw several Spearows he had no interest in this Tiny Bird Pokemon, he already had a fine specimen for his flyer.

By the time of midday, he was already in the city and there were no calls for Team Rocket yet.

'They probably going to appear around late evening…' Ray thought for a second.

So in the meantime, he will book a room in the Pokemon Centre, When Nursey Joy saw him her eyes widened for a second…

Their family are quite...Fans of his... after all…By 'Discovering' Fairy-type, he uncovered some secrets of their main used Pokemon Chansey.

"Oh! Ray, you finally started your Journey!?" Nurse Joy asked happily while same time she clapped her hands, She attracted a few people's attention with her action.

"Yes Nurse Joy, can you check out my Pidgey?" Ray asked her while unclipping his Pidgey Pokeball from his magnetic belt.

"Of course!" Hearing that Ray handed over his Pidgey's Pokeball, and registered a room for himself.

Since he just started his journey he didn't need to restock anything, so, instead, he went to the cafeteria to eat…

After having his dinner he went over to collect his Flying-type from Nursey Joy and went to his room to study some more about this general area…

More specifically west from Viridian City, towards Victory Road.

According to Pokemon data banks there are Nidorans around that area… something he is itching to get his hands on…

When evening came he heard a bunch of shouting and glass shatter and he even smelled something weird as well…

'They are here…' Ray picked up his Pokemon belt and dashed outside.

He saw Ekans and Koffing, and the 'infamous' idiots of the Pokemon Show, alongside the talking Meowth…

"Pidgey use Aerial Ace on Koffing!" Ray threw his Pidgey's Pokeball.

With Flash, his Tiny Bird Pokemon appeared and accelerated at neck-breaking speed into Koffing.

The Blue-haired Team Rocket member didn't even understand what just happened, as his Poison-type Pokemon just slammed into him!

"James!" The crimson-haired woman was shocked by what she saw, She turned towards Ray who just come down from stairs.

Ash who was facing them looked at Ray with shock.

"Ray? You here too?" Ash asked with a shocked face.

"Well obviously… There is only one land route from Pallet City…" Ray walked next to him, with a deadpan look.

"And you look like a mess Ash… you just started your Journey today..." Ray pointed at his clothes, Ash just chuckled nervously.

"You brats! You dare do this to a member of our illustrious Team Rocket!" Jessie from Team Rocket furiously said to Ray and Ash.

Ray only sighed at her.

"Pidgey use Aerial Ace one more time on Ekans…" His Tiny Bird Pokemon quickly went up back into the air and then accelerated its speed to the point where it infused itself with flying-type energy, he was so fast that the redhead of Team Rocket simply didn't even know what kind of attack it was!

She was about to order her poison type to use an attack, but by that point, Ray's Pidgey was already at Snake Pokemon's side and slammed into the Poison-type which sent it flying…

Into Jessie…

"Pikachu! Use thundershock!" Ash starter jumped and then released its electrical attack which led to the already classic part of Team Rocket explosion…

"Team Rocket Blasting off at the speed of light!!!" Ray deadpanned hearing that…

'Right...how do they survive that shit for over twenty years is beyond me…' he chuckled internally for a second.

After the 'bad guys' were handled, Ash's Pikachu collapsed…

"Pikachu!" Ash quickly picked it up and rushed to find Nurse Joy, while Ray recalled his Pidgey.

'Well those morons are taken care of I can go and rest now… tomorrow is a long day… by the way, where is Misty?' Ray looked around for a second and then he saw her, she just went down the stairs with Pokeball in her hand and then looked around.

She noticed the destroyed stuff around…

"What happened here?" She asked him curiously.

"Team Rocket invaded… but it was a pair of grunts who don't even know how to fight." Ray shrugged at her for a second.

She then nodded at him and looked around for a second.

"Oh, right I am Misty… did you see a kid with a Pikachu by any chance?" She asked him after seeing that Ash was not around.

"You looking for Ash? He is with Nurse Joy over there, his Pikachu went through quite a lot it seems…" Ray pointed towards their direction.

"Thanks… you know him?" She asked curiously.

"I am his neighbour, we started our journey the same day…" Ray answered with a shrug.

"Really? You don't look like a newbie like Ash…" Misty bluntly said that.

'Ouch…that one burn for Ashy…' Ray grimaced internally for a second.

"Well...he is a dreamer, and I am someone who thinks how to make a dream reality...Anyway, I have to go now, tomorrow is a long day…" Ray waved at her as he started to walk towards his rented room.

She nodded at him and went to find Ash, while Ray went to his room, to sleep. Tomorrow is a long day...
