Chapter 4

Now Felicia for sure was right that Raynold was not normal. No normal people can talk and dodge people at the same time!

She just saw her new mysterious neighbour sidestep and dodge a person who was about to bump into him! And he did that while talking with that smartass Stacy!

The platinum-haired girl has no idea if anyone saw that but that is just incredible! What kind of senses one should have to be able to do that? He didn't even look!

'There is something more going on there! This is so interesting! What kind of secrets you are hiding!?'

The black cat intensively looked at him, trying to see more of him. Then however she saw him look at her for a bit. As if he sensed her heated look.

He only smiled at her before returning to talk to the blonde about something. The platinum-haired girl has no idea what can those two talk about!

One is an exercising nut, while the other one is a book nerd!

"Don't look surprised. Gwen accidentally pressed the exercising button. More precisely she asked about diets and stuff." Illyana said with an annoyed look.

Felicia can see that this blonde was dissatisfied with the amount of females surrounding her brother.

'Does this girl have a thing for her brother? Now that is a plot for a forbidden love right there.' She thought to herself as her gaze went from Reynold to Illyana.

She looked at his blonde from a different 'angle', she could see that Reynold's sister was somewhat protective of him.

'Fascinating. I wonder…' The platinum-haired girl started to think about how to respond to this.

The beauty is fascinated by her new mysterious neighbour, as always…

Girls are interested in mysteries like that, and that is why she won't back down until she knows everything.

That is why for a few moments, she wondered how would this blonde react if Felicia were to propose a date to him of some sort.

Eventually, the group of teens arrived at the canteen.

It was a classic room full of tables and seats. Most of them were full, however.

"This place is packed," Reynold said with a baffled look.

"No kidding. It's like everyone is starving and they need to eat at the same moment." His sister chipped in with a similar look.

"We are in Manhattan it should be obvious that it's packed. What about your previous school?" The smartass Stacy asked. From the looks of it, she was curious about them just as much as Felicia was.

The platinum-haired girl was curious as well. She wants to know what kind of school prepared this kind of exercise nut.

"Nothing like this. While there were around a few hundred students. The canteen never was crowded like this." Reynold said with a slightly annoyed look. It would seem he doesn't like it when there are this many students at once.

This gave Felicia some ideas. For example not eat here and go somewhere else. Like the roof of the school building or outside. They do have a few trees and some grass on the school grounds.

"Well, I am going to get us some seats while you guys get the food." The Rich boy said as he with his nerd friend walked over to get the seats. The redhead looked at them for a moment before deciding to join them.

This was interesting for the platinum-haired girl as did Watson realise that she won't be able to get closer to Reynold? Did she notice that Smartass Stacy can do better?

"Well, I suppose we should get into the line," Illyana said as she saw that at least we going to get some seats.

"Yeah. Let's do that."

Reynold said with a sigh as they started to walk towards the line.

Felicia and the blonde nerd joined the pair of siblings.

~~~~~~Few Moments Later~~~~~~

As the group finally got their food and got to their seats a group of students approached.

"Uhh… it's Eugene." Gwen said with a sigh.

"He looks like an oaf," Illyana said without beating around the bush.

"You have no idea. He is our local bully. You know the ones which each school have." The nerdy blond said with a tired voice. She already knows what is going to happen… or doesn't…

Another blond girl went out of Eugene's group and walked over towards where Reynold was sitting!

'This! She is interested in him as well!!?' Gwen thought to herself as she saw how… excited Liz Allen was! Wasn't this cheerleading girl interested in Eugene!?

The reaction from the oaf guy was amusing as he saw how Liz Allen reacted! The amusement was short as Liz ended up sitting opposite Reynold.

This made the girls get annoyed quickly.

The martial arts practising teen already had Felicia and Illyana sitting at his sides. Not that this dissuaded the new girl from trying.

"So you are the new guy? Nice to meet you! I am Liz Allen! We are in the same class!" She introduced herself with a wink.
This made Eugine growl from anger for some reason.

"Liz!!!"

"What is it Flash!? Don't you see I am busy!?"

"Heh? Just because he knows some moves doesn't make him good in Sports! What do you say, new guy? Do you want to play some basketball? One on one?"

Eugene's words made everyone turn quiet. The blonde cheerleader sighed in annoyance. It would seem her chances to learn about this new guy in peace got ruined by Eugene's jealousy.

"Are you sure? I don't want to break you, man. I already ruined a few people's carriers." Reynold said with an obvious tone. Making everyone confused.

However, his words only infuriated Eugene the 'Flash'.

"HUH? You think you are that good!?"

"I am not 'that' good. I am the best. Since you wasting my time the winner will buy food. I don't 'play' for free." The way he said sounded like it was a done deal. It only pissed the school bully more who quite easily fell for it.

"Deal! I am gonna show you-"

"You going to lose."

~~~~~~Gymnasium~~~~~~

The Gymnasium was quite empty, only a few diehard basketball fans were playing some basketball instead of eating.

However, that quickly changed as curious people started to gather to see Eugene 'Flash' playing against some newcomer.

Eugene is quite 'famous' or 'infamous' depending on who you ask. He is playing both American football and Basketball.

The teen is natural at sports so he is using that. And now he is going to 'destroy' whoever this new guy is. And that is why they all gathered to watch.

"He was pretending to be humble!?" Felicia said as she was curiously watching the game which was about to unfold.

"Not quite. His meal got interrupted. Ray won't be holding back. I am even feeling pity for that oaf." Illyana said with crossed arms. She saw what her adopted brother could do.

"Oh? He is good at sports too?"

"No. He is very good at sports. He easily could have been part of the Olympic games at his age. But, he decided not to play. He doesn't want to ruin athletes' lives."

Felicia for a second stopped looking at the two and looked at Illyana.

"You serious?"

"You have no idea what kind of exercising nut he is. It's not a hobby for him. It's life." As the blonde said that the match had started.

Flash started with the ball… he was about to go for the dunk but the ball got stolen from him. Reynold quickly went for the 3-point line and shot it.

It was a clean shoot. Looked automatic even.

After seeing this Eugene clicked his tongue. Telling that it was a lucky shot!

Sure enough, he got the ball and tried to shoot himself. To equalise the score. Only for Reynold to block the shoot.

'Damn!!! Look at him jump! Eugene is taller than him!!!' Felicia and Gwen looked at what just transpired with disbelief.

Reynold easily blocked Eugene's shot attempt! Not only that but he rushed after the ball right after! Grabbing it and with a spin shooting it casually!

The shoot was perfect! As the ball hit its mark and now Reynold was 4 points in front!

The one-game points are counted differently as the regular shot is 1 point and a three-pointer is counted as two points.

"The way he moves… damn… here I thought I am good at athletic stuff…" Felicia said with disbelief. Here she spent most of her youth practising athletic stuff like gymnastics.

"Athletics are part of Martial arts… Reynold daily does his 'ten thousand'... Push-ups with one hand, with both hands and even push-ups while standing on his hands. His balance and control of his centre of gravity are unparalleled." Illyana said that with a proud tone remembering him doing that daily.

People who heard what she just said looked at the exercising nut with the gobsmacked look. He was no longer a nut… but a madman!

"...You serious?"

"Very. While I am nowhere near what he can do. I have my exercise schedule."

"But what for? Why go to such…extremes?"

By this point, people around Illyana stopped looking at the game instead they wanted to hear what she had to say. It was obvious that Reynold would crush Eugine by this point.

Sure enough… Slam dunks started from Reynold… the teen started showing off his ability to jump and how good he was with a ball…

"And why not? We only live once, right? Then why not reach the apex of what your body can do?" The blonde sibling of Reynold repeated what he said once to her.

However, her words only baffled people who heard her…

Only Felicia and…certain brown-haired teen could see that Reynold was holding back… alot… especially the brown-haired teen who has the superpowers of a spider…

Eventually, the basketball match was over and Eugene was on all fours… he was tired and in complete disbelief. He just got wasted… as in… completely outplayed, and destroyed. Physically and mentally.

"I told you, didn't I? There is a reason why I don't play competitive sports. I don't want to break the spirits of people who try hard to play their hobbies."

"Hobbies!? You think this a hobby to me?" Flash said that as he got angry.

"Well, it is, isn't it? It's not like you trying hard." Reynold said with a raised eyebrow. He lifted the ball and started spinning it on his finger.

"Y-You!!!" Eugene angrily snarled.

"Me? You, on the other hand, will be buying me food. I don't like eating cold stuff for dinner."

The tone of Reynold made the school bully flinch. He quickly realised that he was very… much outgunned by this individual.

He understood that he was the real deal. He never expected to meet a 'true' martial artist and not some wannabe who practised for fun.

"Fine… you won.."

"I know that I won. You will be buying my meal on the next break." As he said that he started walking towards his sister. Before that, he threw the ball without even looking. It was another perfect shot.

"Once you master it… it is no longer a game but an action you did thousands of times, something you can do even with closed eyes. Competition by that point doest exist anymore."

He said that to Eugene before returning to Illyana.

~~~~~~After Classes~~~~~~

"You know there is more to you than one can see."

"And what is that supposed to mean?"

"I think you can do those crazy things! Like what Shaolin monks can do," Felicia said with a smug look. She felt that she uncovered her mysterious neighbour's secret.

"Indeed? And what are you going to do with such a 'secret'?" Reynold asked with an amused tone.

"So you not denying that!?" The platinum-haired girl asked with an even more excited tone.

*Sigh*

"Can we just move on?" Illyana asked from his side. She is tired from all this pestering…

"Nah, I am more interested in what this kitty cat wants."

That moment Felicia flinched for a bit. Neither the blonde nor Reynold missed that.
