Now seeing three girls trying to outperform one another in cooking would be something right out of the harem flick.
Where one guy is wanted by several girls for his kindness or some other silly harem-only thing.
However, Ray at the moment ended up in this kind of thing. Not because he is kind or anything of that sort. Well, he would want to say that he is quite kind. Probably?
Regardless, he is now at the centre of attention from three girls, their ages going from the oldest being 16 to the youngest in this group being 14. Misty, who is with Ash at the moment is around 12? Well, anyway…
He is now experiencing harem moments… three girls cooking for him… and trying to show that they are… wife material.
Where one would think that the 'date' Daisy offered is going to the city to dine in some restaurant… not in this world. Nope, they wanted to show their capacities and instead, they took him to the living quarters which are in the back of the gym.
Simply put, these girls just took him to their house… and oh boy he can feel the female aura in this place… as far as he knows they are living in the house alone.
Sure enough, the girl started to bring food to the table. One by one it started to fill up.
Feeling the pressure Ray called forth some of his Pokemon Charmeleon, Pidgeotto. His male allies should help him…
Or not…
Sure enough, the girl swarmed around them.
"Wow! I have never seen a Charmeleon who has this kind of smooth scales!"
"I know right? Check the feathers of Ray's Pidgeotto!" The middle sister said as she stroked the feathers of the puffed-up Bird Pokemon.
The Normal/Flying-type is having a moment of his life. He has been training hard every day! Now he can show off!
Ray could only shake his head. Is it so easy to fall for girl flattery?
"Can you let out Milotic too!?" Daisy asked and the other two sisters of hers quickly moved their heads and looked at Ray.
They had a begging look on their faces. Charmeleon and Pidgeotto instantly frowned seeing that both girl's attention was away from them and that they wanted that water-type!
The Junior Professor sighed for a bit before pulling out Milotic Pokeball and then throwing it casually. Moments later the Tender Pokemon manifested. A soft cooing sound came out of the beautiful Pokemon's mouth as the Pokemon looked around.
"Oh my gosh, it's so beautiful!" All three girls walked over to the water-type.
"Yeah, totally."
"The scales are so soft…"
"I know right? And it reflects the light!"
…
…
…
~~~
After having the feel of Milotic eventually, the girls walked over to talk to Ray as they saw him testing out their cooked food.
They had a hard time deciding whether they should spend time with Milotic or spend time with Ray.
Eventually, they concluded that if they got Ray, they get Milotic in the same package.
So they started explaining what they had been cooking for him.
To say that he was surprised is an understatement…
He knows from what he saw In anime and from some of the fanfics he read. These girls are supposed to be airheads and 'bimbos'.
But, they are simply not interested in Gym battles and stuff like that… However, they like showing their Pokemon and themselves.
Thus, the whole water ballet show thing…
He came to this conclusion after listening to their explanations and talks about Pokemon. Simply put they do have the same genes as Misty. As in their father and mother were elite trainers, and one of them even was a Gym Leader.
But, regular fights for them are simply boring. No beauty, no grace… simply put they are more coordinators than trainers. Yet, since they are in Kanto there is a possibility they have no idea about Coordinators…
"Hmm… girls you do know about contests in Sinnoh and Hoenn?" Ray asked them as he was trying out some of the salads.
"Yeah? Like Wallace who is doing his thing with Milotic?" Violet said with a thoughtful look as she was trying to understand what he meant.
"Yes. Pokemon Contests are a growing trend in those two regions. I have no doubt it will appear in Kanto and Johto in a couple of years."
"I think so? You think we should do some of these contests?" Daisy said that as she realised that it might be possible!
"You could use your Pokemon gym battles to test out those things. Once ready you can try contests. The appeal match can include trainer and Pokemon looks. Since you three like showing off." He said that bluntly while shrugging his shoulders.
All three at that moment had embarrassing looks. Yeah, they like showing off their looks. However, when someone says in a quite bored tone. It can mean that they are doing too much…
"We will think about that! At least you showed us another reason to try battling seriously!"
Daisy said that while the other two quickly nodded at her. They need to switch the theme of conversation!
"Anyway, you said you were going to tell us about Milotic!"
""Yeah!""
Ray could only smile in amusement as he realised that he made 'older' girls embarrassed.
"Just get a Feebas and raise it with love and it eventually evolves. Or get a prism scale. It works like an evolutionary stone." He said that very casually.
"..."
"..."
"..."
"You serious? Feebas?"
"Yep. Let me check…" As Ray said that he pulled out his Pokedex and quickly went through the list of Pokemon. Using filters to lower the amount he needs to look through.
"Here it is."
He showed the Pokemon on the Pokedex screen and pressed for the dex to describe it.
[Feebas, the Fish Pokémon. Although extremely rugged, it is a tough Pokémon that can live in almost any kind of water. Its evolved form is Milotic.]
"...No way… I like totally saw this Pokemon for sale in the marketplace! And it cost only a few Pokedollars!" Lily said that as she had wide eyes like saucers. This is like completely nuts!
"...wow… even so. It's not easy to raise one to Milotic. Just like how Magicarp ratio to Gyarados is around 1000 to 1. Milotic is like 10000 to 1. Maybe even more since the professor has not seen a wild one in his whole life."
"That's like so rare."
"Totally! And now we know how to get one!"
Lily nodded at her two sisters. Such a secret! Is so juicy! They need to get Feebas as soon as possible!
"Ray, thanks for sharing this secret!" Daisy said with a wink.
Her two sisters nodded at him.
That moment the Junior Professor felt something. Something is coming…
Sure enough, the trio ended up cuddling him…
~~~~~~Later~~~~~~
"Ray!? You're already here!?"
The Pallet Native snapped out of his daydream. He ended up being kissed by three hot sisters who offered… for the future that is… to be his girlfriends…
The Junior Professor then did some research on how the society he lives in works. Turns out there are no set rules for marriages and whatnot in this world.
This means harems are not illegal… more like no one does them since the population is more interested in Pokemon training, raising, and battling.
Hell, it would seem Arceus has quite warped people's minds.
"Ash. You finally arrived at Cerulean?" Ray said with some disbelief. For a second he forgot that this kid is around!
"Yeah! We had a crazy adventure in Mt.Moon! We found like huge Moon Stone and a ton of Clefairys." The fellow Pallet native said with a reminiscing voice.
"Ash! You're supposed to keep it a secret!" Misty said with a sigh. She then smiled at Ray.
"Still, it's Ray so he can know about the events happening there." The redhead said with a knowing look.
Then the newest addition to Ash's 'squad' greeted the Junior Professor.
"Ray, we meet again!" Brock greeted with a raised hand.
"Brock? You joined Ash too? Well, I hope you keep him in line. I hope he beat you properly?" Ray asked with an amused look.
"Hey! I can beat trainers properly you know!? I battled a bunch on the way here!" Ash said with a huff.
"Well… he sorta beat me?" Brock said while looking away and scratching the back of his head.
"Pikachu used water sprays from the ceiling to knock out Onix. I don't know if I should call it cheating or legitimate use of surroundings." Misty said with a tired look.
"I…see. Well as long as he got the badge." The Junior professor shrugged while saying that.
It's not his problem if the trainer passes the gym with some dodgy means. Pokemon League have their operatives to sort that out.
Regardless, the gym is there to challenge the trainer. So if the trainer doesn't pass properly he didn't learn the lesson. For example, Ash still most likely has no clue how to deal with rock-types.
"Yep! I got it!" The pallet native showed off the boulder badge.
"Nice. Still, I am in front. So is Gary, he has already left the city."
"WHAT? He already got the badge!?"
"Yeah. He already left the city yesterday." Ray said casually. Making Ash get impatient.
"I have to run!" The Pallet native started running towards the automatic doors.
Quickly leaving the Pokemon Centre.
"Here he goes again…" Misty said with another sigh.
"Does he even know where the gym is?" Brock asked with a curious look.
"I doubt." The redhead said with a not-caring shrug.
"Well, the girls over in the Gym will have a testing dummy," Ray said with an amused smile.
"Oh? You have the badge then?" Misty asked curiously.
The Junior Professor pulled out his badge case and showed two gym badges.
"I did. Even got a date with all three of them." He said that to get a reaction from the Pewter Gym Leader.
""!?""
"WHAT!? No way!?" Brock said with disbelief. His voice was quite loud and he got the whole Pokemon Centre looking at him.
"S-Sorry!"
"Of course you do. My sisters wanted to know, didn't they?" Misty said with quite a jealous tone.
"Not quite. They almost started fighting each other. The only way to deal with this was to offer dinner. After that, I gave them some tips."
"Whoa… you must tell me how you did it! Teach me your ways! Sensei!" Brock asked with awe and respect.
He just heard how Ray calmed three girls with nothing but offering for dinner!
"Well. I suppose it depends on the girl. For example, the sensational sisters are all about water-types. So you must know water types. Make sure you find out which species they like as well! Then If they care about fighting, breeding, or taking care of Pokemon. I suppose you can always start with what they feed their Pokemon…"
'Is… he is teaching Brock how to pick up girls!? Isn't… he is like 10 and Brock is like… 16?
As expected from Ray! Truly a World-class Professor material!' Misty thought with a sweatdrop on her forehead.
She watched how Brock was writing down in a small notebook. It's like he is listening to a lecturer telling tips… on how to pick up girls!
Eventually, Misty decided to go and check on Ash and see her sisters. She wants to figure out how much of an impact they left on him!
The youngest of Sensational sisters wasn't expecting that her sisters would triple-team on Ray like this!
'They have no shame!'
She thought with a frown as she left the Pokemon Centre and walked towards where the gym was.
~~~
After giving tips to Brock, Ray left the Pokemon Centre and walked towards the shopping district.
He went to get some supplies for the journey. Like Revives, Potions and medicine for status effects. Once he spent some cash there he went over to T.M Shop.
The Junior Professor realised that he wouldn't be able to teach Nidorino Venoshock without some help. So, instead, he decided to get a T.M. for it.
It's better this way as the movie is very good. He will be able to teach it to his future poison types without any difficulty.
Thankfully he didn't need to look too much for it. The disc-like case was on display. The move was pretty much paired with Toxic.
"Back for more moves?" The pretty cashier said with a wink.
"Yep. One of the best for Poison-type."
"It is. However, you could find this one cheaper in Fuchsia City. I heard they sell this for over a few thousand cheaper there."
Ray smiled upon hearing that. Here is a salesgirl advising other shops instead of advertising her own.
"I know. But by that point I will be there. It will be too late. However, I will keep your advice. I have already been doing that here when I bought Water Pulse."
She simply nodded at his words. The salesgirl scanned the case with a disc inside.
One payment later the Junior Professor left the shop and started walking towards the outskirts of the city.
After a few minutes of walking, he was back in the place where he trained before.
Once he was there he pulled out his Nidorino Pokeball and took out the T.M. of Venoshock.
He then put the Pokeball in the middle of the disc. The purple disc glowed for a moment. That moment Venoshock has been tough on the Poison Pin Pokemon.
When this was done, Ray stored the T.M. where his others were kept.
After that, he released his Nidorino.
"Well, Nidorino showed me that Venoshock! Shoot it at that boulder!" The Junior Professor pointed at the boulder where Charmeleon practised his Flamethrower.
The poison-type nodded and released a blob of poison. Unlike other moves, this one reacts to already existing poison in the target.
This is why it was so hard for Nidorino to learn this move! The Pokemon could not put that effect on the poison. That is why he learned Sludge instead of Venoshock.
Honestly, Ray can't even fault his Pokemon because it's not as easy to teach a move that one can't even properly explain the mechanics behind the energy.
However, now he has the T.M., it doesn't matter anymore.
As the blob smashed into the boulder Ray observed it and compared it to the videos he saw on Venoshock. It was lacking power-wise since he just taught the move. However, it will do for now, he can work on damage and of course, he needs to find out about the special effect behind it.
However, he won't be using the Venoshock effect on his Pokemon. Nope, he will be testing on other trainers' Pokemon.
For now, at least he will be training the move in a combat situation. And for that, he has the best Pokemon to be trained with.
"Good. You can use the move without much difficulty. You will be training it against Pawniard."
Nidorino happily nodded hearing that! He will be fighting!
Ray pulled out Pawniard's Pokeball and released his Dark/Steel-type.
"Pawniard you will be practising your Slash against a moving target while Nidorino will be practising his Venoshock on you."
The Sharp Blades Pokemon nodded at his trainer. This is perfect for him! Poison-type moves do not affect him!
"While you Nidorino will try to survive as long as possible. Do try dodging as much as possible while using Venoshock." Ray instructed his Pokemon while taking some distance.
"Now begin!"
Sure enough the moment he said that Nidorino shot a blob of glowing poison at Pawniard who rushed forward into it. Completely disregarding the move slamming into his body.
Seconds later the Dark/Steel slashed with his hand and the Poison Pin Pokemon jumped back while shooting another blob of poison.
While the practice match was happening Ray observed his poison-type. The strength of his Pokemon legs is very good.
It would seem it's time to move on.
'This is it. He is ready.' As he thought that he crossed his hands he watched the battle. Occasionally checking his watch. Checking how long Nidorino can last against a Pokemon that he can't properly fight back.
To his small surprise, Poison Pin Pokemon lasted much longer than his trainer anticipated. That can be credited to the fact that Pawniard is slower than Nidorino.
Sure enough with one more Slash from the Dark/Steel type the Poison-type was down.
"Very good! Your Slash is getting better. Remember you don't need it just to be a vertical slash, you can make it horizontal too. Like this or this. Or even going from down to up. Like swinging a sword." Ray explained to his Sharp Blades Pokemon who had a thoughtful look when he heard the tips from his trainer.
This is already turning out much better than he was with his previous trainer!
The last one was barely interested in doing anything with him!
"Now rest for a bit. I will be teaching you, Night Slash, later on." As he said that he recalled his Dark/Steel-type into the Pokeball and then walked over to the downed Poison Pin Pokemon.
He pulled out a Revive Potion and resurrected Nidorino.
A few moments later the Poison-type was back on his legs.
"Very good. Your ability to dodge has increased tremendously. Most importantly your hind legs are strong.
What do you say? Wanna evolve?" As Ray said that he looked at his Pokemon.
The Poison Pin Pokemon's eyes slightly widened and he quickly nodded multiple times. Of course, he wants to evolve! What kind of question is this!?
"Thought so. Here you go." Junior Professor nodded while seeing his Pokemon's reaction. He put the Moonstone on the ground and took a few steps back.
The Pokemon quickly walked over, he could feel the pull coming from the stone.
The moment one of his front legs touched the stone, Nidorino was instantly enveloped in bright light!
Standing up on his hind legs, the form grew in size, his tail grew into a much larger one, front legs turned into hands. The height of the Pokemon overtook his trainer…
Nidorino was evolving into a Nidoking!
When the blinding light settled down instead of a Poison Pin Pokemon. It was a Drill Pokemon.
A Poison/Ground-type Pokemon. The typing of this is so rare… no, it's one of a kind. There is no other Poison/Ground Pokemon, except for Nidoking and Nidoqueen.
One can guess it. It's quite special.
"Nidoking!!!" With a roar, the large Drill Pokemon introduced himself to the world! He flexes his muscles for a bit.
Ray pulled out his Pokedex and pointed at his Pokemon.
[Nidoking]
[Drill Pokemon]
[Type: Poison/Ground]
[Ability: Poison Point]
[Gender: Male]
[Moves: Tackle, Leer, Peck, Double Kick, Protect, Toxic, Take Down, Poison Jab, Sludge, Venoshock, Mega Kick]
A smirk appeared on his face when he saw the latest move his Pokemon had learned! Mega Kick! It appears all that jumping and kicking paid off!
Now his Nidoking can deliver that punishment!
"Nice. You learned a move upon evolution! Why don't you show it to me?"
The Drill Pokemon nodded. He was ready to pummelled!
"Good! Now use Mega Kick on that boulder!"
As Ray ordered the Poison/Ground type kicked off from the ground with his tail. That moment Junior Professor smirked even more! Yep, his Nidoking already knows how to utilise his new limbs!
Then delivered a kick with a glowing right leg! The boulder instantly cracked from the contact!
"Damn… that's some power!"
Nidoking simply flexed for a bit before turning around and waiting for more orders.
"Since you finally evolved to your last form we can start your real training. We are going to expand to ground-type moves as well as fighting-type."
The Drill Pokemon gave him a thumbs up. He is all up for that!
~~~~~~Somewhere in Hoenn~~~~~~
A silver-haired man returned to his camp. The man was working hard while digging for some new interesting stones.
So far he found a firestone and a thunderstone. Which indicates that he is on the right path. He has spent years studying the formation of evolution stones.
All he can say is that where evolution stones are fossils of Pokemon follow.
This says that these stones form where the influx of energy gathers. Maybe some ancient battles? Or something else entirely.
Regardless, it's fascinating stuff.
[You got several notifications.]
Hearing his Pokemon voice in his head he looked at his laptop.
"Thanks, Metagross."
One of the strongest trainers in the world thanked his pseudo-legendary Steel/Psychic partner.
The Iron-Leg Pokemon returned to his psychic energy training. It's nothing out of the ordinary to see his Metagross doing nothing but floating in the air surrounded by psionic energies for most of the day…
"Hmm… what this… at least four notifications…" The Hoenn Champion went over and checked the league page.
"What's this… data update on…Milotic?"
His curiosity has peaked here. Milotic is a very well-known Pokemon to him. It's Wallace Ace Pokemon. He had already forgotten how many times he faced this Pokemon.
It's always his Metagross who ends up fighting Milotic. And those fights are usually long. Both Pokemon are defensive monsters.
So he knows quite a bit about the Tender Pokemon.
However, what he found made him laugh. Turns out people finally have proof that it's Feebas who evolves into Milotic.
Professor Oak of all people did the upgrade. The proof is in the Pokedex and trainer page. This is more than enough for the League to accept this.
And the trainer who did it…
This made Steven smile even more. It was Ray who did it.
The Hoenn Champion quickly went over and checked Ray's trainers page.
He saw that he already has Nidoking and of course Milotic. Followed by a swift gym battle in Cerulean city.
"Well, well. I suppose I should prepare for more trainers who have Milotic in their rosters…
Thankfully I have lots of experience fighting one." The Steel-type expert smiled to himself. This discovery is interesting. While it's nothing much to him but for the wider world? For people who love Milotic and wanted one their whole lives?
Now that is a groundbreaking discovery.
"I wonder if Ray is watching TV? How many times has he been on the evening news by this point?"
[According to my calculations it should be less than 30.]
"Are you counting the repeated ones?"
[You said how many times he appeared on TV. Not specific.]
"Hmm… well he will have more attention now. Since Professor Oak gave all the credits to Ray. The man is smart to divert all the attention away from him." Steven smiled while saying that.
The Professor by this point is tired of all the attention. The younger ones can have those.
After checking all the news he decided to send an email to Ray… and one to Wallace. He needs to rub in his face…
~~~~~~Back in Kanto~~~~~~
"What is wrong with him?" Ray asked Brock as he saw Ash sitting there. There was a rain cloud above his head. He was sad, to say the least.
"He lost the gym fight."
"Yep. And I saw it myself!" Misty chipped in.
"I wanna ask what you did to my sisters?" She asked with narrowed eyes. Honestly, she could always brag that she is the best fighter among her siblings. But, the way Violet fought Ash…
It's like the championship title was on the line!
"Oh? What did they do? I only remember giving some tips, nothing more." The Junior Professor was sorta baffled to hear that he did something…
"The moment Ash mentioned that he was from Pallet Town something flipped in them and they fought like it's the last thing they do in their lives." As Misty explained that both Ray and Brock had thoughtful looks.
For different reasons. For Brock is that Ray can affect a girl like that is fascinating. And he is quite jealous. While Ray…
He is satisfied. It would seem he is indirectly making his neighbour's journey difficult.
"Is it great Ash? I am helping you to become a Pokemon Master without even directly helping you!" Ray says that with a cheeky smirk.
"As if! Her Poliwhirl slapped Pikachu into unconsciousness!" The Pallet Native said with a huff while his electric mouse rubbed his cheek as if remembering that moment.
"Uh…why did you even allow her Water-type to get close to you? Shouldn't you just blast with Thunderbolt?" The Junior Professor asked with a baffled look.
"I tried but her Poliwhirl just continued to move around while using Bubblebeam!"
"I see. So they did take my tips seriously. Nice to know." Ray nodded with satisfaction when he said that.
Where Ash huffed like a child, Misty rolled her eyes, trying to hide her jealousy.
"Ray! Ray! You have a delivery from the league!" Nurse Joy interrupted them as she walked over with a small box. It looked like it was big enough to fit a Pokeball.
"Oh? It's already here?"
"Yes! Your Chansey has arrived!" As the nurse said that she handed over the box.
"Chansey? You asked for one Nurse Joy's Pokemons?" Misty asked with confusion. Why would one want that Pokemon? They are good for nurses and doctors! Not fighting.
"For training, for what else? With Chansey, I can train my Pokemon without any sort of restraint." He said with a shrug, the Junior Professor is still quite baffled that no one does what he is planning to do. Or maybe they do? Only not showing it.
He thanked the nurse and opened the box. There was a locked Pokeball. It was a slightly different one as there was a cross symbol on top.
Slowly taking it out from the box he then took his Pokedex and scanned the Pokemon.
[Chansey]
[Egg Pokemon]
[Type: Normal]
[Ability: Serene Grace]
[Gender: Female]
[Moves: Sweet Kiss, Disarming Voice, Defensive Curl, Pound, Heal Pulse, Healing Wish]
For a second Ray had a contemplating look. The healing moves are there. Even the rare Healing Wish which heals both health and status ailments.
However, Gravity was not there. This is quite understandable since it's not a Chansey like move. Why would a healer have this kind of move?
"The Pokemon is fully under your care. Only don't expect her to fight." The Nurse said with a pained look.
"Don't worry there won't be any fighting. Well, I will teach her how to dodge in case a wild one will attack her." He clarified to her.
"Of course. That's why she has Pound. Some of them even have Double Slap." She said that with a giggle.
However, that moment Ash's Pikachu touched his cheeks. Remembering the brutal slaps from a Poliwhirl.
"I can imagine that. Many thanks, Nurse Joy." Ray thanked her.
"Don't mention it. I expect an autograph from you when you release your next book." She said that with a knowing look.
"Oh?"
"You like talking out loud when you are in deep thoughts." She said with a smirk.
"I see… need to keep that in mind next time I am in a crowded place."
Once again she giggled before returning to her work. That moment Brock quickly got next to Ray with sparkles around him.
"Sensei! You must teach me your ways!!!" He nearly begged.
"Uhh? I already gave you tips…"
"This is different! You must tell me how you have such a casual conversation with Nurse Joy!?" He said quite seriously.
"Oh that. Just think about Pokemon related stuff and make sure your mind doesn't wander…"
Brock nodded multiple times as he quickly started writing down once more.
~~~
Ray walked over and took a seat on a soft chair. Pressing a few buttons the video screen turned and showed a calling symbol.
Moments later he got connected with Professor Oak.
"Ray my boy! Just got notification from Pokemon League that they transferred ownership of one of the Chansey's to you. I would say it's quite a smart move." The Professor had a realising look. Now he knows why one of his sponsored trainers got this Pokemon!
Not only will this Pokemon save money for him but, he will be able to train much longer!
"I know. That is why I am sending Milotic to you for a bit. I know you wanted to check her since I got her a couple of days back."
"Of course! You can send her over! I will make sure she is taken care of!" The Professor quickly puffed out his chest.
Ray internally snorted from amusement. The old man acting like some teenager when a new Pokemon is on the horizon.
"Good. I am sending her over. Make sure she helps with Magikarp training. I will be getting them both back in a few days." The Junior Professor showed the Pokeball to the older Professor.
"Of course! No problem! Magicarp already learned Tackle and Rhyhorn got those Ground-type moves down. While Onix already learned Iron Tail."
The Pallet Native nodded several times. This is good! He will start rotating his team once he Is back on the road.
"That's great! Ready to receive Milotic Pokeball. I am sending it over."
