The Games We Play: Dreamer Prologue

A white being said to himself as he 'looked' at something. A small smile crept on his face as he found something interesting once again.

Dreams can be fascinating and they can be just as disturbing. Some people dream of their future, and some dream some horror nonsense after seeing a movie. Others dream of just weird stuff from stuffing themselves full of food.

Weird as they are, they are part of humanity, and soon that will be at the forefront of Raynor Valeron who was surfing on the internet as he was looking through the wiki of a certain web novel which has annoyed quite a bit recently.

"Whoa… someone added new pictures for Gu Yuena! Damn…" His giddiness for new material lasted for a few moments before he remembered how the author made her get infected by 'useless main heroine syndrome'.

'Oh yeah… she died as well… stupid Tang and his stupid gag-like nonsense!'

*Sigh*

'Fuck this! I am going to hit the sack!'

Quickly closing all the windows he then turned off his PC and got up from his seat. He stretches out for a bit before walking to the shower room to brush his teeth.

But before that he picked up his headphones and started to listen to music. He realised that he should read less and maybe play more video games. At least certain games are less… annoying than shitty written novels.

Once he did all his rituals he ended up laying in his bed while listening to ~~~

At first… he saw a white mist which slowly shifted into an underground cave, in front of him was an enormous sleeping silver dragon. The beast opened its eyes and they were beautiful purple.

What happened next was a roar.

Then a white mist shifted into another scene where Raynor dreamed of riding the very same dragon into a massive conflict against rows of humans while his side was full of beasts of all sorts of different sizes.

Behind him, mist manifested as it shifted into huge barrels of different sizes of canons, some of them were possible to hold in hands while others were enormous as much bigger than the dragon itself, moments later all these canons released a colourful streams of energy which erased armies of these humans who were resisting his advance.

Once again the mist shifted as the conflict was won and Raynor jumped down from the huge dragon's back.

"Well, this is it, I have helped you win this as I promised," Raynor said while there was an echo in the way he said that. It sounded like a vision or something else entirely, as it was… just weird.

That moment the dragon glowed as the beast changed into a silver-haired girl with purple eyes. She smiled at him, it was a genuine smile.

"Then I will go with you. There is no need for me here anymore, the world belongs to Spirit Beasts, they can live as they pleased."  The beautiful Dragoness said with a smile as she took a few steps closer to him.

"What do you say?"

"...I can't say no to my dragon." Raynor agreed but there was disbelief in his tone.

"Good answer." She said with a smile before hugging him.

Raynor's eyes snapped open as he saw the ceiling of his room. It was still dark, this means he woke up in the middle of the night!

"...Fuck…what a dream." He recalled a few bits, but this was quite something else… different from that time when he dreamed of being stuck in an old elevator and going up…forever… or that time he dreamed of being Saber's Master.

Well, that time he played too much of that Visual novel.

'Though… good old times…'

Once again he closed his eyes and turned on his side and returned to his sleep.

The moment he fell asleep again mist gathered in right next to his bed as it slowly took humanoid form, a few seconds later it formed into a female form with long silver hair and striking purple eyes.

This was the very same female which he just dreamed a few moments ago, she manifested through the power which he awakened the very same night.

Her gaze scanned her surroundings and her eyes eventually ended up on the sleeping form of Raynor. A small smile appeared on her lips and she slowly walked to where his wardrobe was.

She gently opened and looked for a shirt, yes… a shirt she was after all naked… Dragons don't need clothes. Yet, her new connection to her summoner is telling her that she will be more 'attractive' with one of those. So as any good Dragoness will do she picked on she thought he would like her wearing it.

Once she got it on the silver head turned around and slowly walked next to his bed and then very gently sneaked inside.

The moment she was properly in the bed she started to snooze.

It was after all…. A very long day…

Raynor slowly opened his eyes, he could see some light sneaking into his room, showing that It was morning. A small frown appeared on his face as his next dream was weird… he was dreaming of mist… of pure white mist… it was strange. He was walking in endless mist.

There was nothing there!

Still, though… the alarm clock didn't ring yet so it means he can continue to snooze.

He turned to his left as he was sleeping on his right side, next thing he did was to hug the heat source and continue to nap.

…

…

It was quite amazing. The heat source was extremely warm, and… it was breathing… and it smelled nice!!!

*!!?*

The teen's eyes opened wide as he saw a…t-shirt… someone was sleeping with him!

He slightly pulled away as he saw silver-haired beauty sleeping in his bed! His mouth slightly opened wide… this girl she was… a goddess!

How did she end up in his bed!?

With a soft groan, she opened her eyes, her eye colour was simply exotic! It was purple! She blinked a couple of times, then she saw him looking at her with complete shock!

"Good morning, I thought you already got over the idea that I can turn into such a form?" She said with a soft and melodic voice. The dragoness still thought that he looked at her like this because she turned into a human woman right in front of his eyes.

"You—"

"Gu Yuena, it's better if you call me by my name instead of my Title as Silver Dragon King." She said that while still looking at him. She didn't move from the way she was laying on the bed. This was… simply too good for her. She didn't know humans have such comfortable areas to sleep. Especially when he just hugged her like that!

When Raynor heard her name he had a realising look on his face! He recalled how he checked wiki yesterday on her and then had a weird dream in which he only recalled three scenes in total…

So how… SO HOW ON EARTH he has the real deal laying in his bed!!?

He quickly leaned forward and inspected her closely before his hands went to her hair and slowly stroked it. It was smooth! Like silk! Then he even smelled her! As he got way too close!

The teen needed to double and triple-check that this was the real deal!!!

"How…did you appear in my bed?" He asked her after confirming that this was THE Gu Yuena.

"...I did say that I am coming with you. Did you forget already?" She asked with an amused tone as she just went over this amusing inspection of his!

"...It was blurry for me, like it was like a dream, and since it's a dream I thought that I made it up.

Usually someone like you, a Dragon King, would stick around in the Douluo Continent instead of coming here."

Now she slowly nodded before wrapping her arms around him and pulling him closer.

"...as I said before, I did everything which needs to be done, this means I can leave with you." She said that while starting to cuddle with him. This made Raynor quite self-conscious when such… Goddess was doing all that!

"Yes…I remember that but the issue is…how did you just pop in my bedroom?"

"...Hmm? It was you who took me with you." Now she slightly lifted his head and made him look at her from close distance.

'Damn…she is gorgeous! fuck the drawings! They are shit compared to this!'

"...I see… I have no idea how… my power works…" Raynor said with some annoyance, for a second he forgot that Gu Yuena herself was making him look at her.

He has freaking reality-bending powers and only NOW he can use them!? What the hell is going on!?

'Wait a second… I could control mist and the mist…,'

For a second he recalled his dream where he made massive canons manifest and then unleashed on armies of Spirit Masters…

Those things were hundreds of metres long…

'They looked like cannons from spaceships or more like from Capital ships…'

"Hmm? Truly? You said something like you dream them up… or something like that… like it's related to imagination or dream thing… honestly for someone who had no cultivation you destroyed more than I did… it was simply awe Inspiring to watch you." As she said that she released his cheeks and instead snuggled into his chest.

This moment Raynor slightly blushed when he saw what she was doing. Though he won't deny this was amazing!

'Dream… manifestation? Do I need to sleep or do my daydreaming work as well?'

Regardless it was hard for him to sleep now… so he instead tried to think… I really think so! Because… it's hard to think when he has Gu Yuena acting like a cat instead of a Dragoness!

So, it is like a mist, why mist? Most likely how dreams are usually blurry. Though… my vision started to get clearer as when I opened my eyes I saw Gu Yuena holding my cheeks with both of her hands.

"Snap out, this place is even creepy for me." As she said that my gaze looked around…

My eyes bulged out as if it was a pure white place! Like some sort of a realm with countless clouds in all directions… those clouds… were like memories… as I could see all sorts of things in them… like things from my perspective?

Then all those clouds rushed into one location.

This instantly made me realise that I wanted them in a single location!

"Ok… so if I do this…"

That moment all the memory clouds which gathered there turned into a bookshelf with books.

'This is quite easy… why is this so easy?'

Once again under our feet the floor appeared, it spread out as far as I could see… next it got more colourful as it was just a white solid surface instead it turned into a wooden, then plastic, then metal…

It's utterly easy to change it! Like a mere thought!

"Impressive… it's like… you are a Creation God in this place." Gu Yuena snapped me out of my little game as my gaze went to her.

Seeing how she was only with…my t-shirt on I swiftly changed her clothes into denim shorts and a black hoodie, and of course, high heels which go all the way to her knees.

"Now you look very beautiful." As I said that I could only nod to myself… very beautiful.

"...Hmm? I see… so this is how you want me to dress…" The Silver-haired Dragoness inspected herself for a moment before two pairs of silver wings appeared on her back.

"...I see… so this is how it works… did my wings destroy the clothes?" She asked me as the girl turned around and showed her back.

"No… that's quite a convenient power you got there."

"...Hmm… it's not me… it's your power, more like the clothes you made for me." As she said that she recalled her wings and looked at him.

"I see… though where are we?"

"This is inside of your mind. You could call it mindscape or dreamscape."

I simply nodded at her and at that moment the world around us turned black with countless starts as far as one could see. Then a horizon appeared in the distance as the floor turned into grass and continued to spread as far as one could see… to top it up a large moon appeared in the sky.

"Beautiful…" Gu Yuena said as she crouched down and touched the grass.

"...This feels real… so real…" She said with a small amount of awe as she then looked at me.

"Can you create trees and a Lake perhaps?" The silver head asked with some hope.

Instead of answering moments later, trees erupted from the ground and several lakes in the distance filled up with water in just a few moments!

"Let's explore!" The girl got on her feet and grabbed my hand motioning me to come with her.

"Alright, alright there is no need to drag me!"

*Alarm Clock*

Raynor slowly opened his eyes, he felt a heat source on top of him. It was Gu Yuena who was sleeping on top of his chest!

*Groan*

"What is this infernal sound!" She said with an angry pout as her eyes opened. The Dragoness looked at him waiting for confirmation.

"It's the alarm clock, it's time for me to wake up. I have things to do." The teen said with a sigh. Power or not he has to attend the school… though now he is quite excited… he has superpowers! It's not boring anymore!

"Fine… though it was amazing what you can do with your powers!"

As she mentioned that her clothes are back to how they used to be before!

"...Yeah, but it's inside my…dreamscape…though how does it work?" As he said that he moved her to the side and got up from the bed.

"Hmm…well, I was able to manifest through your power… and I can do this!" As she said that mist surrounded her as she got the clothes which he made before appearing on her!

"So you can access the Dreamscape?"

"Yes? I suppose? I felt that I could do it."

As Gu Yuena said that Raynor had a thoughtful look.

*Sigh*

"We can test this out later, first shower and breakfast, oh and no shoes in the room."

As he warned the girl, the Dragoness removed her shoes.

"Stay here, I will go get a quick shower."

"Do you want me to join you?" She asked him very simply.

That moment he nearly tripped when he heard that!

"Maybe some other time. I don't have much time." Raynor sighed as he quickly left the room. Leaving the smiling silver head as she didn't mention to him how she has a 'support'. The support is power which allows her to operate in alien worlds like the one she was at this moment. It comes directly from Raynor's dreamscape.

Common sense is being installed into her the longer she is around in the human world. Otherwise, she would not see her question as a tease, instead, it would be just a simple question as she doesn't have human values, well she has some of them now.

Gu Yuena looked at the sandwich in front of her. She slowly picked it up and tasted it.

"So…what are we going to do?" Raynor asked the Dragoness.

"Hmm? What do you mean?"

"Well…you're following me?" He asked with an eye roll.

"...I don't know? I follow you anywhere you go. You need a dragon after all. Remember?" She said with a smile before trying out the sandwich.

The teen could only sigh with a smile, it appears he has quite the catch which came from nowhere. Well more like he got through sheer dumb autopilot in his dream.

"In that case, it's good to have such support."

She had a smug look for a bit.

"Worst case I can transform into my Dragon form and rain elements from the sky." She said that while taking a bite from the sandwich, the dragoness finished the whole thing in just a few bites.

Seeing how rapidly she ate the whole thing, Raynor gave her another sandwich.

After the breakfast was finished it was time for the teen to go to his school.

"Do you have any means to turn invisible?"

"Hmm? I can return to your Dreamscape." As she said that she turned into mist and simply vanished from the world.

"...That's convenient…"

"And I can talk with you like this as well… say… Ray… can you create a bed for me?" Gu Yuena asked with a slightly shy tone. The Dragoness is not used to asking things like that!

"And how I can—*

"My Thanks!"

*Sigh*

"You are sighing a lot, are you okay?" The Silver head asked with a concerned tone. She was worried.

"Yes, I am just frustrated that I don't know how to control my powers." He replied honestly, she was with him in this one so there is no point hiding things like that.

"Then don't. Your powers come naturally to you. So just do it I suppose? It's like my wings for me. Or just legs? Walking comes naturally doesn't it?"

Hearing her say that… Raynor stopped for a few moments and looked around.

He pointed his hand and mist rushed out from his sleeve and then took the form of a longsword!

The moment he grabbed the weapon he felt the coldness of the cold steel!

It was metal! Not only that but it was heavy as well!

The teen took a few swings and realised that it was the real deal… he just created a weapon from mist!!!

How does this even work!? Well, it doesn't matter! This was his power so it doesn't matter!

He then tried to test out the sharpness of the blade so he took a swing at a tree.

*THUD*

Metal hit a tree, and that was it! There was a simple cut on the tree.

'So it's just a simple cut.'

'The blade is a simple steel sword, you made it so, if it was special then it might have cut the tree off entirely.' Gu Yuena chipped in as she was looking at what he was doing through his eyes.

'Special… huh…'

Once again mist was released from his sleeve as it gathered behind his back it took the form of a huge hand made from unknown steel. This hand was holding a rifle.

This was the hand of Gundam Strike Freedom and its beam rifle.

The beam rifle's full name is MA-M21KF High Energy Beam Rifle. They came in pairs and they merged into one long barrel Beam Rifle.

'Why the fuck do I remember that long ass name of the beam rifle!?'

Not only that but he could remember the entirety of the plot even what the characters say!

'Wait… the library!!! If I can use the library to improve recall of the memories… Does it mean I can do this for other things as well!?'

As he thought about it he tried to make the hand shoot the beam rifle but there was no reaction at all.

The teen wasn't bothered by this because the hand had no power at all…

So without much bother he simply made the mech's hand disappear.

'What was that? It didn't work?'

'No, I got some understanding of my power. I think my power works similarly to EMIYA from Fate Franchise.'

'... You need to explain more than just say that! I have no clue what this even means!' The Dragoness exclaimed with an angry pout. She has no idea what this person even is!

'Fine! There is no need for you to get angry at me! EMIYA power is a factory in his soul, it produces an unlimited amount of weapons which can be summoned with minimum use of Mana.'

The moment he explained this to him the Silver Dragoness saw the mech hand which he just created reappear inside this Dreamscape and it started to reassemble properly. From the insides of the machine to the colouring everything was coming together. As Gundam was becoming the real deal!

'I see… so you will be able to pull it out from here. Though how did you realise that this was the right way?' Gu Yuena asked him with a curious tone.

'I realise the moment I thought about you. You can reappear easily out and in from my Dreamscape and those clothes which I gave you.' He explained to her as he returned to his walking.

'Oh, I see…. So I helped you again! It's good to know that it is me who is helping you this time!'  The silver-haired beauty said with a happy tone.

Raynor's goods were noticed by a few people but they didn't bother to ask the local weeb why he was this happy. For them, the first thing which came to their mind was that the Gamer boy finished some sort of game and now he was extremely happy.

Though there was one guy who was curious about this, and that was his desk mate, who was his buddy and fellow weeb for over two years now.

"Ray! What's with the smirk? Did something happen?" The blonde friend of his asked the fellow teen who sat down in his seat.

"You could say that. How is your day? Anything of interest happened?" Raynor skipped the part where he got superpowers and that a silver-haired beauty was in his mind at this moment.

"Not really… I heard that we will be revising the literature, preparing for the literature test. This one is going to be marketed as well." The moment Arno said that Raynor could recall it reading.

He even had flashes of imagination when he read… he could recall it word by word!

'This is cool as hell! I could ace the whole thing this way!'

Once again a smirk returned on his face. Fuck! It was hard for him not to get over-excited by this!

"Why are you smirking again!? Bro! This shit is horrible!" The blonde hissed at him. Imagine reading stuff written by some oppressed farmer who wanted to keep the native language alive by writing weird stuff by this farmer.

How the hell farming is interesting when it's written in a weird context over 50 to 60 years ago…

Sure the whole thing is important nowadays because of its historical value… but teachers have no freaking idea how to make this interesting for the students!

"I know… thankfully I read this up recently," Raynor said with a small smile, it was a big and fat lie! He didn't do any of that! Yesterday he spent the after-school hours reading Soul Land and checking up Gu Yuena and her pictures.

Then he went to sleep and…stuff happened!

"...Wait…you for real? You would only read this stuff if someone threatened to erase your stash!"

'Your stash? what is that?' Gu Yuena asked curiously.

'My collection of pictures. Nothing major.' Raynor quickly explained himself, maybe even too fast, though the Dragoness is still new to human interactions. So, she didn't pick up on what this meant.

'Oh, I see… it should be important pictures if someone would threaten you with them.' The Silver head said with a wondering tone. This is quite strange for her.

"Yeah, I did some for those marks, I need to get above 4." Raynor quickly came up with an excuse. Which didn't truly work on the blonde. He knows his friend. His friend is stubborn as a mule and he would not learn even when bad marks are looming on the horizon! This was fishy! far too fishy!

"Well, we will see in the revision."

"Yeah, anyway…"

The teen pulled out his phone and saw the lock screen.

'Hmph!'

'What is it?'

'You have me and yet you are looking for different females!' The silver head said with an angry pout.

'You do realise that you just popped up in my bed this morning? Besides, you are the one who decided to come with me.' As Raynor said, he went to the gallery and selected the downloads folder. There were those few rare Gu Yuena pictures he had.

The teen then changed both his Lock screen and the Background with those new pictures he found yesterday.

'There. Happy now?'

'Hmph! Those might look like mine but you never took them by yourself! I want to make fresh ones when we can!' While she still sounded a little bit angry, her voice had that joy in it.

Raynor could only roll his eyes when he heard how picky that Dragoness can be. Or does she just want to mess with him? It's hard to tell. Especially when it's a woman AND a Dragon at the same time.

"Oh? New pics? Which franchise is that?" Arno asked him since he had never seen this girl before.

"Hmm? It's Soul Land, more specifically Soul Land 4, the main Heroine." The teen said that while pocketing his phone.

"Heh? I thought you spent time studying yesterday! It turns out you have been drowning in another Chinese rabbit hole!"

"As if I had been out of it for several weeks now, I only checked the wiki to see if Gu Yuena had new pictures."

*Snort*

Raynor could hear a Silver Dragon King snorting in the back of his head.

"Besides, how do you know it's Chinese?"

"Saw it on a webpage, apparently there is a 3d CGI anime of some sort on it," Arno said while shrugging at his friend. He has been watching Guilty Crown and he spotted that thing on one of the Anime web pages.

"Yeah, the first part has it. The rest only has manhua…"

*Bell Ring*

~~~~~~Later, After the Classes~~~~~~

As Raynor was walking back home, with a burst of Mist Gu Yuena appeared next to him. She quickly grabbed his hand and hugged it.

The teen could feel how his hand ended up in her assets. He could only sigh as he pulled her black huddy to hide her silver hair.

Not that it is easy to do… as her hair is long in the first place.

"I can't believe how long you have been inside that place!" She exclaimed as she finally could talk to him directly like this!

"I know… kids in my world have to attend this place for a minimum of twelve years before we are released into the wider world." The teen explained to her as he for a second looked around, there were no people around thankfully, the residential area where he lives doesn't have THAT many people. Since it's a suburban area with quite big gardens.

"...I see… so it teaches people before they can do whatever things they want?" She is trying to understand a world which doesn't have obvious cultivation like hers.

"I wish it was that easy. Maybe you will grasp all the little things this world has after living here for a bit."

His explanation didn't explain anything! it only made her frown at him. It's hard for her to accept the fact that it wasn't fully explained to her! She is the Silver Dragon King! The one-half of the ultimate God, the Dragon God!

And this guy doesn't care at all!

"Now, now there is no need to get this pouty with me, it's something you need to understand yourself."

"Fine!"

"RAY! Wait up!"

Raynor stiffed for a bit! He remembered that today they were supposed to have a gaming afternoon! Playing Mass Effect 3 in Nightmare mode…

'Fuck…'

"Hmm? Oh, it's that blondie!" Gu Yuena said with a realising look.

Then… Arno finally was able to see who was holding his best friend's hand like this! It made sense why the teen was smirking most of the day!

Isn't it obvious!? He found himself a girl!

But the moment he saw her face he stiffed and turned into a statue.

What the blonde saw made him question reality!

It was Gu Yuena! As in… a book character in flesh!

"...Ray… can you check if I am seeing things or not? Since when are book characters among us!?"

The dragoness saw how the blonde was looking at her, it was… sheer dumb disbelief, reminding her how those small Spirit Beasts saw her for the first time. It was the same kind of look.

This made her skirt for a bit as she simply summoned her Silver Spear and slightly smacked the blonde with it… on the top of his head.

Metal hitting right on top of his head. This was painful which made Arno instantly grab the top of his head from pain.

"I am very real. I hope this gets across… I don't want to soak you in water or electrocute you." The silver head explained with a deadpan look.

"I-Its fine! I get it! There is no need for you to use your supernatural powers!" Arno quickly lifted his hands motioning for her to calm down.

He then quickly got close to his best friend and tried to whisper at him.

"What the hell man! I understand Simping anime girls! But to the point that they become real!?" Arno said that with an almost accusing tone! Did Raynor's simping powers reach the point that he can bring girls to life!?

"You know… my hearing is very powerful… there is no need to whisper…" The Silver head said from the side. This instantly reminded the blonde that… yes… Gu Yuena is very freaking real…

Why his best friend didn't resurrect someone… less dangerous and destructive for his first girl!?
