Golden Chat Prologue
Added 2024-03-13 17:55:03 +0000 UTCThe year was 2000. A new century just started. Many people celebrated this. Others said that it was the beginning of the end.
Or some other nonsense which people usually come up with in their free time.
In truth, another quite big event was happening. Around the summertime of the year 2000. The sun increased its solar activity and more than the usual amount of sun flares were released.
Such things can be dangerous and usually, the planet's magnetic field would deal with this.
"Why it's so bring outside?" A seven-year-old Marcus said with a frown. He looked through the windows and it looked extra bright outside. It didn't quite make sense to him.
As curious as he was he went outside to find out more.
The moment he was outside, Marcus' gaze went up and towards this brightness for a short moment. He needed to use his hand to cover the sheer light he was seeing it.
He knew this had to be the sun… But the sun is never this bright!
This was on a completely different level!
However, this short look… caused his eyes pupils to expand… which caused him to feel unwell immediately. To the point that he collapsed instantly.
That moment…city siren's blared declaring emergency.
The solar flare hit the city where Marcus was. The power grid was fried. But before that… the boy was exposed to quite a bit of solar radiation.
~~~
"I… unfortunately have to announce that your son got exposed to a large dose of sun rays. Usually, this can cause the possibility of skin cancer. But this was much worse. We detected rabid growth of something which looks like a brain cancer." Doctor said with an uncertain tone, he has no freaking idea what this was!
"...Brain Cancer? Doctor! You still don't sound sure!" The worried lady said with disbelief.
"This…is because we haven't seen anything like this before… it almost looks like… the brains are getting consumed by this…" The doctor wasn't sure himself. What he got from the scans looked like something like cancer but… he wasn't sure. The signs of some sort of consumption of cells were there.
"Regardless… there is nothing we can do. Any treatment won't even do anything in time. That just how rapid this is."
When Marcus' mother heard that she was devasted. So was his father.
"For now… we can only hope for the best."
~~~~~~Somewhere Else~~~~~~
"Well, this is fascinating. Such…sharp… and diverse…split up in the possible timelines." A being dressed in pure white said that as he was gazing at something with its white eyes.
"You Goldman never cease to amaze me with your craziness. And here I thought Valerons and their obsession with Chaos is ridiculous.
Turns out you bunch are just obsessed with your version of Order.
Sure… let's see… can I do something with you? Such a natural situation doesn't come so often now does it?
I usually just have to make one happen myself but this…
This, I am going to just pinch here… and just like that…
One of most smartest beings was born…"
As the White said that he felt a fundamental shift in this part of Omniverse.
This timeline, which existed in a very normal universe shifted so powerfully that the supreme being needed to quickly turns this into a 'project' Multiverse!
"Such reaction! Fascinating! However, such a stale Multiverse will be far too boring. Let's add something to the mix."
For a second this being looked to the side and gazed at a certain different location. Spotting a few interesting things which could help him and his boss to get some entertainment from this… since his Boss already noticed what he was doing.
Just mundane and plain universe needs some… spiciness. Why not add a place where concepts are quite powerful? And some other small things?
Well, he will remove certain unnecessary elements. As he doesn't want the new project to turn into evil of humanity in just a few short years.
No, such things will not going to work.
"Hmm… as he is right now the world will get under his thumb far too quick. He needs a distraction. Something to…enrichen the journey?"
And so… he experimented with a few certain elements and gaze at the future to glimpse at the results. After all, he won't want to end this as quickly as possible OR doom this project!
He could only smile at the results as he was thinking about how to make this more interesting, it appears the concept could only last this long.
Maybe some assistance from fellow Conquerors?
"Now this is going to be interesting!"
~~~~~~Later~~~~~~
A pair of brown eyes opened wide for the first time since… he doesn't know how long it has passed.
His mind rapidly processed that he was not in his room, the smell, the sound, and the ceiling was different.
He quickly recognised this as a room in Hospital, this was the only location where he could be in after passing out.
However… what got his imminent attention was his vision. For some reason, the colours were more vivid than ever before! This has piqued his curiosity as wanted to know…why?
Though the moment he wanted to move he noticed an array of wires!
"What is this?"
As he was inspecting himself the doors opened and a lady and a man dressed in white entered the room he was staying in.
"Young man how are you feeling? I am your doctor so there is no need to worry about anything."
"Oh, okay… I am okay? For some reason, everything is…more colourful?" For a second he was confused but then when he heard that he was his doctor. In his mind doctor= good guy, who helps people.
"I see… let me see…" the man walked forward and pulled out a small flashlight.
"For a short moment, It's going to be very bright so bare with it. Don't worry, it's only for a short few seconds."
Marcus slowly nodded as the man then checked out his eyes.
However, the boy didn't expect this to be so bright! It instantly reminded him of the event when he passed out!
Thankfully he didn't pass out but his breathing got faster for a bit.
"My early hypothesis is that your brain is generating more electricity which feeds to your nervous system." The doctor said with a curious tone. This was quite curious indeed.
"Electricity? My brain generates electricity?" The boy asked curiously, his curiosity had pinged!
"Yes, that's how we can store memories and such. I do believe because of this, your processing capacities have increased. By how much I do not know." The aged man pocketed the small flashlight.
"We will be contacting your parents shortly young man for now relax."
After saying his piece the doctor left while the lady did her thing which is removing a bunch of cables which were attached to his body.
Once she was done with her part he was left alone, his mind instantly went to think what the doctor said… his brain generates electricity which is used to store memories and other things…
But what does all of this mean?
His mind can grasp how in world he got electricity in his head!?
Now he needs to know!!!
'Why… I am so…' he could not even say why he was so…Hungry to know this… this is not related to machines or cars…
Marcus always had an interest in machines, cars or anything else related to technology, it is something he inherited from his father who works with cars. He always loved them. He loved the whole idea that it's something created by people.
But now… his curiosity is taking leaps and bounds, he is feeling hungry to know MORE…
Since he could not do anything he just laid in the bed and tries to divert his attention somewhere else.
Eventually, he found something blinking at the corner of his vision.
His gaze focused on it.
Then a window popped in front of his eyes. His whole body shook as he tried to move back from sheer fright!
He almost squeaked from this, but he was able to control himself. His shock slowly changed into confusion as he looked at this.
[Do you wish to create a new chat group?]
[Yes] [No]
"And now I am seeing things… that just great…." He sighed and mentally without even realising he selected [No].
So, when he opened his eyes again he didn't see the window anymore.
*Sigh*
"It appears it's nothing important…" Marcus said with a relieved tone. Once again he returned to his thinking. This time he ignored the flashing thing in the corner.
~~~
Couple hours later both of his parents came over for visit. Both of them were extremely relieved that…everything was fine with him.
Especially when he asked for his 'usual' stuff… his father handed over his car magazines. Which he started reading right away.
While the boy was reading the doctor was talking with the boy's parents.
"He has fully healed from the radiation which he received. It's…simply beyond anything we understand, all signs showed that his brain tissues are getting consumed from within.
Regardless, he is fully healed and there are some consequences from this."
"Consequences?" Marcus' father asked with some concern he was thinking that his son might have some mental issues…
"His brain activity is above average, for some reason, the amount of bio-electricity his brain generates is above normal…we could like to scan his brain activity to understand this more." The doctor asked hopefully.
"This…" Marcus' mother was not sure about this, she just wants this over with and to take her boy out of the hospital.
"... I don't think one scan will do anything. Besides even if we return home there is no electricity as well speak."
"The scan won't do any sort of harm it's simply a scan of brain activity." The doctor explained more about the scan, there is no sort of damage to the boy.
"Fine."
The boy's mother agreed after some consideration. The doctor looked pleased. Such opportunities don't appear often like this!
~~~
"So how does it work?" Extremely curious Marcus asked the doctors.
"You know waves? Like…" The doctor tried to think… "Like how you drop a rock into water? You see waves. This is the same only that those waves are special they pick up electricity in your brain."
The boy had realising look as he mentally imagines a rock dropping into water…
"Hmm?"
"Is there something wrong?" One of the doctors asked him with slight concern.
"No…nothing, I just felt something." The boy said as he looked around. For a second he felt like he touched cold metal for some reason…
There is no metal around him at all… the only metal thing he sees is. the machine which scans his brain but it's several metres away.
"That's fine. Just laid down on this bed. We going to start the procedure shortly.
"Okay…"
Shortly the seven-year-old ended up in a specially prepared bed, a few moments later he got slowly pushed into a specific tube of some sort. It was all white, soon enough he saw certain laser-like things scanning him.
This made him understand this more… what the doctors said about the rock and wave concept they mentioned.
Though he wasn't able to think more about this as the doctors asked certain questions which makes his mind work.
Once all those are done he was pulled out from the scanning machine.
"How was it?" the boy asked curiously about the results. To the older men, it sounded almost like the boy was thinking that this was a test to be graded…
"...well…as it was expected your brain activity is way above usual. This leads to increased physical activity and metabolism. I can suspect that this will lead you to get tired mentally quicker than others."
"Oh… okay…" Most of the stuff which was said for the boy was something he had no clue about.
"Umm… what is metabolism?"
"Oh, that, simply put you need to eat more as your body uses more energy."
Marcus nodded this time in understanding. Now. this makes sense!
"While these scans are interesting, it appears the incident gave you some perks, but at the same time you paid a price for them." The doctor which did the scan explained to him as simply as possible.
"Don't worry we will tell the rest of the things to your parents." The other one reassured him that everything is alright.
The seven-year-old boy slowly nodded as he once again looked at the machine, and then recalled those waves and lasers… its kind of cool…
~~~~~~Somewhere Else~~~~~~
"It appears I have miscalculated on the part where he will access Chat Group power, if this continues he won't access it until his late teenage years." The white being said to himself. While this is not bad or good, it will simply make the journey shorter…much shorter. His new subject development has to be impacted by surroundings, yes… he needs to access his chat group power sooner.
"Hmm… thankfully I have Plan B for this kind of situation."
~~~
That moment in the Capital's Central Hospital small park with a burst of light something appeared.
This being wasn't considerably big, it was around the size of a large cat, and it had a long fluffy tail and a pair of long ears. It looked like a fox with some parts of rabbit… most strikingly… it was pink!
The cute animal sneaked out from the bushes and looked around. It looked as if it was scanning the surroundings… it was showing signs of impressive intelligence as it knows where it has to go!
After seeing that the coast was clear the fox rushed forward, it looked towards where the windows were, the beautiful animal eyes ended up on the third floor. It looked around for more.
Eventually, it decided to use pipes meant for rainwater. It masterfully jumped on the pipes as it started to climb up.
~~~~~~Back with Marcus~~~~~~
As Marcus was reading a magazine on the new BMW E46 as it just recently launched in Germany. However, his reading was disturbed by a sound around the window.
His gaze went there and he saw nothing there.
"Hmm… I swear… someone just jumped in…" Once again… he recalled how he was seeing things… is he now hearing things!?
He shook his head and once again returned to his leisure reading.
One day he will get this car!
But then he felt movement on his bed!
His gaze snapped at the source, what he saw made his brain stop for several seconds!
It was a fox! A beautiful fox! He had never seen anything like this before! The creature was pink! To his knowledge, there is no such fox in the world! It's either orange-furred or white-furred for the winter not this kind of colour!
The fox turned its head to the side, it had a curious gaze, then the cute thing walked over to him, and then lunged forward and started to snuggle into his chest.
Marcus could not understand what this animal was doing! More precisely why it was behaving so affectionate from the very beginning!?
The more he was thinking about this the more he was thinking about this. This leads him to… hear…static before he heard a female voice.
"Snuggle, snuggle, snuggle!"
"Why are you saying 'snuggle'?" The teen could not stop himself but ask! He was amused by this. It sounds amusing!
The Fox stopped in its tracks and looked at him.
"Oh, you can speak to me directly! That's nice!" The pink fox said with some glee.
"Directly?"
"Yep! That's exactly what you are doing! See! My lips are not moving! You using your mind to talk to me! Great isn't it?"
This time Marcus' eyes widened as he realised what he just did. That moment, he 'slipped' and stopped with whatever he did!
"...I have superpower!?" He squeaked from shock he quickly covered his mouth and looked around. The fox which was rubbing into his chest sounded like it giggled from his actions.
He looked down and looked at this beautiful animal. His hands slowly went on this fox, his movement was slow on purpose.
The fox internally rolled her eyes when she saw that, regardless, he slowly started to stroke the beautiful fur of this animal.
"Wow… so soft…"
His praise made her smile smugly.
Eventually, he tried again with his focus and he once again was able to hear the fox.
The first thing he heard was…
"Snuggle, snuggle, snuggle."
"...Why are you saying that?" The boy asked with a joking tone.
"Oh, you can talk with me again!" The fox stopped snuggling and looked at him.
Now that he could think about this, this fox is not normal at all. No fox could talk, they don't have enough brain mass for the ability to talk… this fox, however…
"That's because the snuggling effect is greater when I say that! But anyway…" The pink fox used her front pawns as if she was using her hands, she brushed one pawn when she said 'anyway'...
"I was thinking, do you need a friend? I could be one! Besides, you would be the only guy around here who has a fox for a pet?"
"That's cool, but won't you attract extra attention if everyone saw you… you know… pink foxes are not normal for us." He was immediately interested in having such a fox as a pet! The only time they had a pet was dogs and dogs are alright… but they just don't click with him as much as felines or some other exotic animals. And foxes are by this point is an 'exotic' animals.
"That's fine! I am not a normal fox you see! I can use illusions!"
"Illusions?"
"Yep! So when anyone apart from you sees me I will look like an innocent fox." The pink fox said with a proud tone. As if it's something impressive. Which in a sense was, as Marcus looked impressed.
"That's great! This means I could keep you."
"Great isn't it? we can be friends now!"
Marcus simply nodded at her happily. Yep, he will have a great pet which he can talk with!
~~~~~~Week Later~~~~~~
The boy was impressed how stealthy his new fox was! The moment someone was walking towards his room she jumped down and hit under the bed. In a way that no one could see her!
Even if the bed was high, the angle was just perfect for her to hide! That just shows how smart she is!
Apart from that Marcus decided not to say anything about his Superpowers! He watched enough cartoons to know that superpowers should be kept secret!
"Well, it appears you are healthy." The doctor said to him as he was checking the paper of the basic examination.
"That event has altered your brain slightly, you now can learn faster but it should make you tire out faster in return. How are you feeling? Did you try any of that?" The doctor responsible for Marcus health asked him curiously.
"Yes… I can recall most of the things I read easily… and my homework suddenly became quite easy now…" The boy said the second half with a slightly bored tone. He needs to start studying on his own! Because for one he can't just wait for them to catch up to him! He was only been here in the hospital for a week but he already finished his years material.
"I see… you could ask your parent to make you move to the next year. This way you could continue to study as you pleased." The doctor chuckled hearing how the boy already finds school boring… not in a normal boring way! He finds it boring because how he already learned everything.
Marcus thought about this proposal a little bit but then he remembered what Yae, his fox told him about being isolated from the rest because of his super genius!
'Think about those superheroes they rescue people at night while doing regular things in day time.' He recalled what she said.
While rescuing people is not his thing. No, not after seeing how stupid many of them are. Especially in the government…
He could use nighttime to build his secret laboratory and day time he could pretend to be a normal kid!
"Hmm, I don't want to move to a class with unfamiliar faces."
"Fair enough, you could just do independent studies then." The doctor offered to him this as well. He wants to see this boy bloom and become something special!
"Yes, I will do that!"
"Great, then I leave you to your rest, your parents will come shortly to pick you up." After the doctor left the fox quickly rushed out from under the bed and right on top of Marcus' legs and then she laid down and simply lazed around.
"Once my parents come here, you will jump into my backpack. Then once we are back in at my house I will introduce you to them." The boy directly said to her.
"Sounds like a plan. It's a good thing that you decided to continue with the original idea we came up with." The pink fox said to him as she slowly rolled towards him and returned to snuggle.
~~~
The journey back home was around 40 minutes. Because of the fried electrical grid, he was shipped to the capital… so now he has to return.
His attention quickly went to the amount of vans and cars were there, from the power grid maintenance to highway maintenance. Alot of people were there. This made him realise that there won't be electricity for a while…
Once he was back to his house he placed his back down and the fox jumped out and started to look around. Exploring his room. Looking for interesting things.
While in meantime Marcus walked around his room. Looking for something to read… he already read all of the school material, all the car magazines, he could recall all of the content with closed eyes.
It was fascinating… though he doesn't feel tired like the doctor said he would. Maybe they are wrong? Maybe he won't going to get tired from learning a lot.
Truthfully it doesn't matter.
After some digging around he found an encyclopedia on technology. It's a very interesting illustrated book on how certain technologies work and how they were created.
Marcus got this when he showed interest in cars and machinery.
As he was going through the pages he found some content about waves, radio waves and electromagnetism. Those all were big words but there were explanations of what this means.
And the boy was absorbing all the content with glee. He loves when pieces of the puzzles are getting filled up…
'Still… there is nothing about brains and 'bio-electricity'...'
Feeling slightly annoyed he started to think if he could find any more material to read on the brain waves…
'Wait a sec…'
"Yae, let's go to the attic, there should be some stuff from the time my father attended his school."
That stuff Is might be old but there should be some stuff on biology. Damn… so that's what studies about living people are called!
The pink fox nodded as she rushed over and jumped on Marcus' back and then climbed up on his shoulder.
"Nice, so this is how you ended up on the third floor?" The boy said with an amused tone. The fox climbed all the way! That's quite impressive for a fox's size!
Yae simply smiled smugly at him.
The pair went a couple of flights of stairs to the first floor of the house.
In layman's terms, the attic was a place where his family put non-used stuff here. It was something his father and mother developed as people who grew up under the soviet union.
'You might not going to use it now, but in the future? Who knows, you might going need it.'
That's the gist of it.
But for Marcus… this place was a heaven, a glimpse into the past, to the time he was not even born yet. To the times when different government was running things.
What he wanted was books. So he started to dig around boxes and other junk. While the fox… the fox looked around with a cute frown on her face. There was so much dust! What is going to happen to her fur if she stays in this place!?
And so Yae decided to take high advantage point and just look down on the things Marcus was doing. The boy in question completely ignored the mountains of dust which this place had!
"Let's see… all the notebooks is something I don't need…" he threw those away… what he looked instead was the books.
"...Math, no… literature… that's just gross… Russian… meh… physics… what is that? Let's keep it… hmm… ah… chemistry… isn't this stuff which is used to make those different colour water?… yeah… let's keep it…" as the boy was mumbling to himself he eventually dig up stuff on biology.
The books were old… like from 1975 to 1980 it was very early stuff and there were no colours just pure yellowish pages with black ink.
Regardless… the theory was there. At least that's what Marcus thinks.
As he was going through the page he started to learn. The first was about the human body, the organs, and their functions, blood, blood cells…
However, he was confused about certain things so he went to earlier years. Cross-referencing. The boy didn't even notice how rapidly he was reading through the things. His speed only increased with more stuff he read.
The Fox who was watching him right in front of her advance could only look with wide eyes. His progress was absurd!
Eventually, he stumbled upon brains, he reread it several times. What he found was…lacking… he would need to look for better books later but what he found was enough for him to 'see' the picture.
Simply put neurons and neuron patterns are what make the mind work. For him, these neurons work with extra force. This is why he sees the world more brightly than anyone else.
This is not all… from his understanding, the way he can speak with Yae is that he sends a wave, which is picked up by her brain.
"So…my power is waves? Hmm…" the boy leaned against a broken chair as he looked around…
He recalled all he did in the hospital… what stuck with him was how he felt metal while standing from distance.
'Does this mean I can sense things through these waves?'
As he thought about this he looked at old TV. Remembering a mental image of a stone falling into a pond then focusing the same way he does when he wants to talk with Yae…
That moment he felt like his body expanded in all directions and touched a lot of different things! Metal, rubber, glass, wood, dusty surfaces all of it!
*GASP*
Marcus instantly reeled back in. As the sweat was rolling down his forehead.
"That was…"
That moment Yae landed on his shoulder and started to snuggle into his cheek.
"I am okay… just tried out something."
"I see… don't try too hard, there is no need to rush."
She said with a relieved tone.
"Yes, anyway. I found the key to my power, now I need to test other things out."
As he said that normally he remember that to talk to Yae he wanted to know 'who are you'... like he wanted to talk with her.
Working with this idea in mind Marcus tried his power again what he got was the same thing. He 'touched' everything…
Next time he tried again this time he wanted to feel specific things. Like only rubber or metal… but how to do that?
'What is the difference between rubber and metal? How they are made? What are different materials?'
All these kinds of questions made him discover molecules, atoms, and the small things, and this blew his mind as he needed answers!
However, his adventure was cut short as it was getting dark and there is no electricity.
~~~~~~Later, Next Day~~~~~~
Thankfully he got a leave of absence from the school for another week. This means he can continue with his superpower study without bothering with school.
After reading through most of the book on Physics, one of his more interesting subjects right behind machinery and biology, he learned that everything is made out of small balls…
"Yae did you know that most if not all things in the world are constructs of small balls? Like they are so small that you need an extremely powerful magnifying glass to see them!?" Marcus gushed about the new knowledge he discovered!
This is major for him! All he wanted was to discover how to differentiate rubber from metal and wood and stuff like that! Now he knows! He can differentiate everything this way!
While his words got the Pink Fox confused… she just nodded at him.
Once he got into his position he tried the new idea out.
Instead of imagining rock dropping into a pond, he imagined a wave so small it can pass through atoms and molecules!
So when he sensed how his 'body' expanded, the wave washed through the whole attic, bypassing the walls and continue moving forward in all directions!
What he sensed made him awe! It's like… everything was built out of lego parts! Even the people! He could tell that because the sensed where his parents were in the house!
He could tell how everything is connected!
His gaze focused on the old TV, Marcus send another wave specifically on the TV… he could tell it in more detail how all the parts connected… he then wanted to undo it!
Not everything… he just wants to split it up!
And so with another burst of brain wave energy the TV fall apart!
*THUD*
The fat TV screen just dropped on the ground. The rectangular box like a sliced fruit opened itself up!
The fox who was watching him closely snapped its gaze at the source of the noise. She was ready to hide just in case
But what she saw was a Tv fall apart like a sliced fruit! What happened here!?
