Iron Wolf (GoT) c2
Added 2024-03-14 00:11:16 +0000 UTCLucan shook his head in amusement and started walking towards the stairs.
All he wanted was to test the reaction and Aegon to say no. He wanted to mess with him. He didn't expect for Visenya to consider this heavily.
As far as he knows she should be already engaged to Aegon because of the whole Valyrian tradition nonsense. If his hunch is correct he should have an easier time getting Rhaenys who is spare by all means and purposes.
However, this was not the time for any sort of romance or marriage nonsense. All he wanted to do is test and turns out it's quite a 'flexible' situation.
"W-Wait! We didn't hear your answer!" Visenya was the first one to go after him.
"My answer? My is answer is no. I don't have time for this. I have a fat pig to kill and crumble this kingdom of his. Maybe after that, I will look for someone who can run things for me. While I tinker with my alchemy." He explained to her as he looked around. Trying to listen if any Ironborn are still around. Just like his physical strength, his hearing is much more powerful.
"...You want me…to look after your stuff?" The Valyrian girl said that after she put things together… this guy isn't looking for some sort of lady of a castle or stuff like that…he looking for a housekeeper? Or more like… servant? Honestly, she doesn't know how to react to that… she is a dragon rider, and oldest daughter of the last remaining Dragonlords in known world… and he wants her as a servant… is he that arrogant or because of his magic?
Either way, she is annoyed by this! However, she still needs his help to escape from this place and find a way to persuade him to take them back to their home.
"I do. What else there is a reason for someone who doesn't have magic? Do you know how to enchant weapons? Or alchemy? Do you know how to turn dirt into iron or gold? If you do then you would help me with my work. Then I wouldn't mind taking you as my…wife? Right, that's the word…" He said explained without even looking at her. His gaze was forward.
After taking a few more steps he arrived at the ground level of the keep.
While Lucan looked at the corridors, Visenya was blown away by what she heard. She was in a presence of an actual Sorcerer! This was big! Like truly big! Her Ancestral home and birthplace Valyria was a place where Dragon Lords were ruling with dragons and magic! Meaning that they were Sorcerers just as much as dragon riders! If she could learn any magic from him then her family would easily subjugate Westeros and recreate Valyria!
She realised that this kidnapping by Harren might as well be a fortune, not a misfortune as the silver-haired girl thought before.
However, the Targaryen can think more on this she heard the sound of running quite a big amount of men. The sound of boots and weapons told of that.
"I thought your men secured the keep!" Aegon said with a frown.
"Men? Where you got this idea I have men?" Lucan said with a snort.
"...You… did all that yourself!?" Visenya said with a baffled tone. How many Ironborn he went through!? This castle suppose to be one of the most defended places in Harren's Kingdom!
"I don't have time for armies!" As he said that he took a spear-throwing stance.
The moment the Ironborn entered the corridor they were, Lucan threw the spear-sword!
The pair of siblings' eyes widened at what they just saw!
'This…guy… he has strength beyond the norm! Even my ancestors in Valyria couldn't produce this kind of feat!' Aegon through with sweaty forehead… no wonder he doesn't have army… hell, he is like army himself!
The spear-sword nailed the leading Ironborn and one behind him as well! Killing two with single motion. Then the chain rushed forward like a saw cutting one more right through the middle!
Lucan pulled the chain back and then lunged forward himself. Crossing several meters in a single jump before the Ironborn can comprehend what happened blast of magic slammed into the face incinerating one's head.
The House Hoare Guards who finally understood what they are facing started taking steps back…
The fight just started and they already lost four guys!
"With this, it's 40. I still need 10 more at least!" The silver armoured man said as he went over and pulled the spear-sword from the pair of corpses.
"So, which one of you wants to join this guy at the Burrowed God's place?" Lucan said that with a provocative tone. He even on purpose said the wrong name of their God.
However… the Ironborn by this point didn't care they looked with a sweaty forehead at this bloodied man. Little by little they took a step back.
"Hmm? No answer? I guess I will do this myself!" With another lunge, Lucan leapt forward and swung his spear-sword downwards. The Ironborn which he targeted could only raise his shield above his head but the force behind the swing fractured the shield and broke the Ironborn's arm, cutting it deep into it.
However, he didn't die as he fell on his back, away from the armoured attacker.
Seeing how absurdly easy it is for this guy to destroy their shields many of them simply dropped their weapons and started running away. After all, it's only one guy! They can easily regroup with another much bigger group and then crush this guy!
"It would seem they have abandoned you." The silver armoured man said to the downed Ironborn who was shaking for his life. He turned around and saw retreating figures of his so-called brothers-in-arms.
"W-Wait! Don't kill me! I will tell you anything you want!" The guy waved his hand in front of him from fear. Frantically begging for the attacker to stop.
"Oh? What do you know? Where is your King?" The armoured man pointed his spear-sword blade tip at the Ironborn neck.
"H-H-He should be returning in a few days!" The guard quickly spilt the beans.
"...I see… in that case I shall wait for him."
After saying that he thrust the spear-sword forward and killed off the guard who didn't even notice that he was dead. He simply had the look of relief on his face before the body dropped to the ground.
"..."
"..."
"..."
"Was it necessary?" Aegon asked with a frown. The pair of siblings walked over and looked at the several corpses and blood on the ground. This was the first time he saw that much blood in one place.
"You wanted me to spare him? An ironborn? You never wondered how much misery even one of these caused to small folk? They start teaching their children raiding early! As early as ten! They get their 'salt' wive's as early as fourteen!" Lucan explained to the silver-haired teen.
"The less there are of these the better for Westeros as a whole. I am doing a favour for the rest of the six Kingdoms."
"He is right you know. Ironborn are plague to the Westeros." Visenya agreed to what Lucan said. The alchemist turned teen looked at her. She smiled back at him.
Simply put, she is taking his side, for the simple reason just to please him. He doubt she cares that much for what the Ironborn do. Or maybe it's both, Lucan doesn't know much about her except from a few things he read in the books and the lore.
"If you say so. What next?" With a sigh, Aegon asked the armoured teen.
"Well, you two can leave if you want. I am going to wait for Harren."
The pair of siblings looked at each other for a second. This was quite a difficult choice. For one if they stay there is a huge chance Harren will capture them again. While on the other hand if this guy deals with the Ironborn King then he is free to help them return to Dragonstone.
And maybe persuade him to make a deal of some sort. It was a wager between greed and their security…
And of course, greed always wins in this situation. Targaryens are not known for being passive…
"Once you deal with him you will be free to do whatever you want, yes?" Visenya asked curiously.
"...I do."
"Good! Then we shall join you in this. Harren needs to pay for kidnapping us and treating us like some low life prisoners!" The silver-haired girl said with some heat. She has full confidence that they will succeed with someone who has magic abilities!
"Fine. Do whatever you want." Lucan said with a shrug. He didn't expect people to start joining him like this. He got reminded that he lives in a world where the most common power people wield is manpower. It's the most common factor.
~~~
"Ser. We have gathered around 53 men able to battle." The Reach knight said to Lucan who just exited the main keep with Targaryen siblings.
The words the knight said once again baffled the Alchemist. He is not used to this at all!
"I see… any news on the Ironborn?"
"The ones you routed Ser have retreated behind the construct side. They are most likely regrouping and waiting for the Ironborn King to arrive. Their numbers shouldn't be more than a few hundred. With the longboats arriving from the south, they could put us into a pincer move."
After hearing the explanation Lucan didn't quite know what to think. He didn't sign up to take care of a small army. Simply put they would even get in a way…
"Hmm… I would prefer if you could equip these men with bows. I suggest raiding the armoury here and taking weapons from the Ironborn corpses." The Alchemist turned teen said with a thoughtful look.
"Of course! I will see what I can do Ser!"
"It's Lucan… my name is Lucan."
"Yes, Ser Lucan!" Once again the Reach Knight bowed to him before leaving.
'Is this what happens when you impress someone with your martial prowess to the point that a knight simply follows you?' Internally he thought to himself as he saw the retreating figure.
Well, he has some time till that fat pig arrives. Those Ironborn guards outside the construction site won't going to come out for the fear they feel towards the Alchemist.
Simply put… he has some time to clean himself up…
As Lucan thought about that he looked at his hands… they were red… red from bloodstains…
~~~
Visenya intensively looked where the source of her fascination was walking.
"You going to follow him?" Aegon asked her.
"But of course. You are not interested in his secrets?" The Targaryen girl asked him.
"I am, but, he is dangerous. You saw how he killed those Ironborn."
"That's why I am more interested Aegon. His movement and abilities are way above anything I saw. I want to learn them!" The Targaryen girl said as she looked at Lucan who was walking towards the lake.
"Then best of luck, I will go and find some weapons for us. Thank the Gods that I didn't take Dark Sister with me" Aegon said with a sigh. He is relieved that he didn't take his Valyrian sword otherwise he now would be panicking…quite a bit, knowing full well that the Ironborn would have taken his sword.
"Yes. I will see you later." Visenya nodded back at him while starting to follow Lucan.
…
…
…
A few minutes later she saw Lucan coming out from the lake. He just took a bath. And Visenya was treated to one of the best sights she saw in her life.
The beauty licked her lips for a bit. She was able to see his body and his face finally.
The man who got her attention was muscular, he wasn't a wimp, it was quite fascinating honestly, as far as the Silver-haired girl knew sorcerers of the old never had bodies like that. As they would practise their magic all the time. Not train their bodies.
"You going to say something or you just going to watch me. While I don't mind being watched. I would prefer if you are join me."
"Oh? You want me to join you in bathing? I wouldn't mind but you would need to take responsibility after that." She said quite smugly.
He only needs to say a word and she will strip for him!
*Snort*
"You regular human treating your marriages so casually, it sometimes boggles my mind." Lucan shook his head while saying that.
"You did just offer me to join you."
"I offered to talk, not bath." He said with an eye roll.
As he said that he picked up a branch and started drawing with it something on the beach.
"Oh… I see… what do you mean by regular human?" She was embarrassed at the beginning but quickly got over it by commenting on something else.
"Regular human is what a mage regularly calls a human who doesn't have any magic. With a short lifespan, and posses narrowed minded views on its surroundings." He quite bluntly said that.
It took some time for the silver-haired girl to process what he just said.
"I see… you saying that I am stupid?" She asked him with a slightly pissed off tone.
"Hmm. No? You think differently from me. You have some sort of belief that I will take 'responsibility' for doing things to you. Which I won't because I don't see a reason to do it for a woman who is giving herself to me." He casually explained himself.
"...You do realise that my family… is different from the rest of Westeros… we have…"
"Dragons I know. I used to have them too. Very fascinating animals, I used to have several different cattle of those. Different species you see. Their bones and teeth are good for several different potions, scales are good for shoes and gloves, I used to have several gloves of dragon skin, those I used when I was working in the forge. While their flesh is quite tasty. it takes more time to cook, however."
Visenya paled hearing that. He used to have dragons…as cattle!?
A chill went down her spine. This guy… what kind of sorcerer is he!?
"Anyway, I am not afraid of your family. I attacked Harren alone. And I can do the same to other Kingdoms. Dragons or not."
While Lucan wanted to push the girl away so that he could focus on his stuff. It had quite a different effect on her.
At first…well… she was terrified but then she understood, well sorta understood, how strong one needs to be to treat Dragons as cattle. It made her even more interested in him!
"I see… It would seem I need a different way of approaching." She said that with quite a lustful smile.
Lucan could only look at her with a raised eyebrow. She is not afraid that he will just use her and leave her be?
"Since you so care much about magic, then when you have me you will have access to my Valyrian bloodline. I know that some Valyrians are born with natural resistance to fire and we can easily control dragons.
This means that your descendant could have both magic and dragons." She explained smoothly while trying hard not to look too much at his naked upper body.
All she got for an answer was a short chuckle before he decided to elaborate since she is still thinking like regular with 'regular' desires.
"While I would like that my child will get extra inborn powers. You forget the fact that I am a sorcerer with severely slowed down ageing.
This means that I don't need for an descendant for a very long time. Honestly, if I have one now, It will be counterproductive."
This was the first-time Visenya has heard anything like this! She tried to understand how… a sorcerer things…
However, she didn't give up this easily. This made no sense to her one-way ar another. There is no man, in her point of view, who wouldn't want her as his wife. She is a dragon rider, one of few remaining descendants of Dragon Lords of Valyria, she is beautiful, talented in household things, can fight and lead soldiers, can manage wealth just as much as she can do logistics for armies…
She is a perfect lady of the castle in every single way!
"Even so… you don't want a woman's company? I can manage a household just like said before. I am one of the best swordswomen in Dragonstone, very few knights can beat me in a sword fight.
I can do logistics, manage the castle, organise events… I still don't understand is it not enough?" She asked the last part with a frown. Sure she doesn't have magic, but that is because it suppose to be gone with Valyria Freehold…
*Sigh*
"Fine. If you insist this much I will take you for myself." He said that with a sigh. Lucan internally rolled his eyes several times.
"As your wife? yes?" She asked that very eagerly.
"No. We will discuss that after I see our compatibility, you forget that we will live more than a hundred or two hundred years. I don't want to have someone for that long which I don't like." He said with a deadpan look. This woman was far too eager.
For a second Visenya frowned but then she heard 'hundred or two years' she quickly got over that and decided that she will have enough time to make him get all over her.
Valyrians are well known for their passion for everything they do. And from the looks of it, the man she is talking to is a Northerner. She will 'melt' his heart with that amount of time! That's for sure!
"Very well, I accept it!" The Valyrian girl quickly agreed with his offer.
"Good to hear. Now, let me finish this." Lucan nodded at her and returned to drawing something with a wooden stick.
Visenya, of course, listened to what he said and instead of talking she walked over decided to watch what he is doing.
From the looks of it, he is writing something, it looks like a magical ritual?
"We live in a world where magic is very passive, even easiest of things demand at least few preparations. For example, this thing I am doing right here is to dry my clothes."
As he said that he finished drawing a circle at least a few feet wide full of letters of unknown origin to her.
Moments later she saw him poke a finger with a small knife.
The moment he dropped one bit of blood the circle started glowing.
Then he dropped his shirt into the circle, the silver-haired girl that moment saw water leaving the shirt! Leaving the circle altogether!
She could not believe she just saw magic being done right in front of her eyes! And he did it while talking with her!
He then repeated the same progress with his other clothes…which made her blush… however, she liked what she saw.
After his clothes, it was time for the armour… which after closer inspection she saw that this armour was most likely the most beautiful piece of defensive equipment she has ever seen!
She saw meticulously inscribed rows of letters similar to the ones the silver head saw on the ground. She understood that this armour is magically enchanted in some way.
Visenya at that moment wanted to know how does his stuff compare to Valyrian steel? Could he make it in bulk?
Once he cleaned his armour he started inspecting it.
"Hmm…Still not good enough. I thought that pattern will lessen the pressure on the armour." Lucan said with a tired sigh. He was disappointed from the looks of it.
"The chain grinds on the surface. I have rearranged some of the runes so that the chain could more smoothly return to me. But this is not enough." The alchemist explained to her.
"Couldn't you just make more spare pieces of the same armour piece?" Visenya asked him. Not truly understanding what is wrong here.
"...Silly girl… How long do you think it takes for a blacksmith to make a good sword?" He asked her in turn.
The silver head frowned for a bit. She didn't quite like the fact that she was called a 'silly girl' but from the looks of it, she will need to swallow this…
"I am no blacksmith but my guess would be several days?" She said that with a raised eyebrow.
"Depending on work ethic and quality of the weapon, yes. Around few days. While these? Specifically the left hand of armour, where the chain coils it can take me from 4 to 6 moons."
Her eyes bulged out hearing that. Now she knows why he called her silly girl…
"I been working on this armour since I was just a boy. As you can guess the pieces are not easily replaceable." As he said that he put the armour away and went over to check the weapons.
The chain and the spear-sword got cleaned up first before Lucan inspected the blades of his weapons. Thankfully nothing has chipped his weapons…yet. He didn't fight any properly crafted weapons.
"So, it is magically enchanted armour? I saw you shooting magic from the palm!"
"Aye, the palms piece of armour, however, were crafted with intention to be replaced. The best part of the armour is however the ability to fly."
"..."
"...you serious?" Visenya asked him with wide eyes. You could say she just sold herself to him right here and now once again.
'No doubt when Rhaenys hears or see this she will be coming after him just like a am doing. I need by that point to have him in my grasp!' She thought to herself once again.
"How do you think I arrived here from the other side of Riverlands? With a horse?" He asked that with a joking tone.
Only that Targaryens girl didn't find it funny… Everyone uses a horse…
"Right… I suppose I got used to flying on my own."He said that while shaking his head. Realising that it was a bad joke.
After saying that he put his armour back on.
Visenya was able to see how this armour is put on. She could only say that it is much more convenient than any Plate armour she has seen before.
It took her a few moments, but she realised that there is no straps to hold it together… it's like the armour pieces stick together and fit perfectly on the scale mail…
'Magic is convenient! The more I see the more I want to learn!'
~~~
Lucan soon realised that Harren won't be arriving today… or even tomorrow.
Such a thing made him realise that he should not be on edge this much. To relax he decided to fly around, making the people freak out as out of nowhere their saviour started to fly!
He flew around the castle and a small portion of the God's Eye lake. To so say that it's huge is an understatement. He couldn't see the island which suppose to be in the middle or he couldn't see the shore on the other side. Simply put it's big. He was lucky enough to find Harrenhal when he first arrived here.
The teen turned alchemist even checked out if there was any Ironborns around the castle's construction site perimeter.
Turns out the guards of House Hoare retreated quite far away. Which is amusing in a sense. As in he was only one guy! And he beat over 300 guards!
Eventually, he returned to the castle interior and landed there. He saw some of the people who decided to 'work' with him. It's quite a strange situation. As he is not paying them. He could guess that the Targaryen pair got them under their wing…
After checking them out he saw Aegon sparing with the Reach Knight. By this point, Lucan learned his name. The knight was from House Tarly. More precisely youngest son of the current Lord of Horn Hill.
His name was Tristane Tarly. One could say that apart from Lucan, Aegon, Visenya this guy was the best fighter they had.
Thankfully, the knight had his armour back with his family colours of green and red.
However, their sparing has stopped when they noticed Lucan's arrival.
"Ser Lucan! How was the flight?" The Rachman asked the alchemist, as the pair approached him.
A sigh escaped from his mouth as he removed his helmet.
"Nothing. The lake is quiet and there is no Ironborn around in several leagues." Lucan explained the current situation around them.
"I see… then they are waiting for Harren to return. This will serve us well. That Ironborn king won't be able to get the news that Harrenhal has fallen to us." The youngest Tarly said with a thoughtful look.
"Indeed. If we are to believe the Ironborn words then Harren left with 5 longboats. This means that the numbers should be no more than a hundred strong." Aegon said that as well.
"I will sweep in from air as well. This will quite frankly shake them. Use that moment to rain arrows."
"Aye. Smart idea Ser Lucan! This will be a skirmish to remember!" The knight pumped himself out. He didn't expect to end in a battle where the fate of Riverlands and Iron Islands are at stake!
This is glorious! Not only that but Tristane will fight alongside a man who can fly! And can fight like Heroes from ages past!
"It will I can't wait to cut that fat pig piece by piece," Lucan said with quite an excited tone. Which slightly terrified the pair. They have no idea what the Ironborn King did to him but they are thankful that they are on the same side…
"This has been a long time coming. There is a reason why Harren is called the 'black'. The man's heart is pure evil. It was only a matter of time before he crossed someone he should not."
Both Lucan and Aegon nodded. Even if the alchemist doesn't kill Harren now. Aegon will return a few years later on top of his dragon and burn the castle regardless.
But, such a scenario is not happening. The fat pig Ironborn's men decided to raid Lucan's home. And for that… he will die.
"My good Sers I leave you two for now. I need to check how the training is going."
Once the Reach knight left, Lucan looked at Aegon.
"Your sister… she is handful. I have not seen someone as stubborn as her! And believe me, I have seen alot of stubborn women."
Aegon sweet dropped, he slightly got uncomfortable. He knew Visenya will get herself in trouble.
"I hope it's nothing bad, Ser Lucan?"
"No, it's fine. She insisted that I should take her as my wife. Even though mage and alchemist like me have different values and standards." The armoured teen said with a sigh. Honestly, he never had a wife. And doesn't truly know… how to see a woman as his 'equal'.
He spend centuries improving his art, creating a new branch of magic, inventing eternal youth, pushing runemancy to the point that he could create magic technology…
Lucan knows his achievements, before his death on Earth he was branded as a nuclear deterrent… and now…some girl not even 20 years old wants to be equal to him?
Not going to happen any time soon. She needs to achieve at least a small bit of things he did to even start considering something like 'marriage'.
"I see… don't take things too seriously with her. Both of my sisters are very… stubborn? With their desires. My youngest sister tried to bond with a dragon before she was even 10. It was a mission to keep her away." Aegon explained his woes with his siblings…
"If only it was that easy. I told her… sorta off… that I will think about her proposal? Not that I accepted this idea fully…" Lucan said with a thoughtful look. It is hard for him to say no to ethereal beauty who wants to be your wife? Oh, and she has a dragon for a pet and their kids will be powerful? Plus the alchemist himself was in a teenager's body…
It's a miracle that he didn't just accept the deal…
"Well… Good luck then Ser Lucan. This removed a stone from my heart!" Aegon patted his shoulder. There was an extra-large smile on his face.
Seeing how happy the Targaryen heir looked rubbed Lucan the wrong way…
Wasn't Aegon suppose to marry Visenya sometime later?
This could only mean that the alchemist turned teen is digging himself a hole he won't be able to escape…
~~~~~~Evening~~~~~~
Lucan was laying on the grass and looking at the stars. He uses these moments to absorb magic through the method he calls 'One with Land'.
He has been doing this for years. If he was living in a certain Chinese universe one could say that he was cultivating. Which in sense he was. As he was adding more magic to his very being.
"Your breathing… you almost sound like Vhagar."
The teen stopped with his magic training when he heard Visenya's voice.
"Because it was. Where Dragon breath magic naturally. Humans have to learn to do it." He explained to her without even looking at her. His eyes were still on stars.
"I see… this explains your increased fighting ability. Where dragons grow in size… for humans it's strength?" She was guessing, and she was quite close to the truth.

Sadistic Dragon
2024-03-14 19:47:05 +0000 UTCNice chapter. By the way you got something wrong: dark sister was Visenya's sword, not Aegon's... Aegon's blade was the fabled Blackfyre
