Spirit Farm (DD) c4
Added 2024-07-16 17:10:43 +0000 UTCAfter reaching Rank 29, I gave a couple of apples and a bowl of water to the wolf, which would become my next spirit ring.
From what I can remember, the third ring has to be around 1200 to 1800 years old.
That means I could push to 2 to 3 thousand years old. It's easy for me because the animals follow my orders.
So, after giving the wolf resources, I made him find a corner where he could eat and drink, and time would flow quickly for the beast.
One thing is for sure: it's weird to watch the beast just walk around rapidly…like it was a video with rapid frames.
I spend the rest of my time cultivating and drinking the pond’s water.
It didn’t take long for me to reach the Rank 30.
However, I needed to wait for the wolf, as I wanted the beast’s age to saturate.
Eventually, evening arrived, and I needed to sleep.
~~~~~~Next Morning~~~~~~
“Holy…”
My eyes looked at the blue-silver grass. It reminded me of the savanna; the grass is getting tall around the pond, not just the tree, which was quite tall and now has several large branches.
The whole thing was absurd, as I could see an aura around Ah Yin. It was black…
Meaning that she was in the ten thousand-year range…
It's the same as my orchards.
She had caught up to my apple trees.
“Damn… I suppose water is good.” I pondered for a bit. I guess I could get a water sprayer of some sort.
For now, I walked to the wolf. The beast was twice as big as before, and its wind aura became thick. Its fur had tribal tattoos of wind.
Not only that, the beast had a thick purple aura.
“Good, you are good enough,” I said with an impressed tone.
“You can give me your spirit ring. Let’s see what raising like this can give me.”
I mumbled the last part to myself as I wondered if my ‘cattle raising’ was good.
The beast nodded, and its spirit ring manifested. It was much thicker than the last one I absorbed.
As the ring flew over, I summoned my grey wolf spirit, which became much taller and more intimidating.
‘Didn’t its name become Ghost Wind Wolf?’
I recall that all my attack names now have that. So that means it is Ghost Wind Wolf.
As I got comfortable, I started with the ring’s merger.
A short few minutes later, I felt a surge as my cultivation once again rose. Because of how old the beast was, the ranks went up to Rank 34.
‘Well, the gaps are getting bigger and bigger.’
After taking a deep breath, I stood up and inspected myself.
“What an interesting ability.”
My third ability is called ‘Ghost Wind Wolf’s Wind Invocation.’ What it means is that it's a buff for my speed and future wind abilities.
To test it out, I walked away from my farm and activated the third ring.
A howl in the wind spread through the area as a wild green aura surrounded me. Then, I activated my second ring ability, and the ball of wind condensed in seconds flat!
It was a bigger ball and much more volatile energy inside of it.
“It appears getting the other ring from the same created some synergy.
A curious development.”
After playing around, it was time to return to my cultivation.
But first things first…
I had only two wolves left.
“I do wonder if they are a pair? Like a boy and a girl? Can they breed? If I get a bunch of wolves, I could reach Titled Duoluo quickly…”
I walked over to the pair. They had thin purple auras.
“Hmm.”
After a quick inspection, I realised that my plan was a flop. Both of them were boys. That means I need to look for more wind-based wolves.
Regardless, I gave them some of the special water and more apples.
They should start growing faster while I return to my cultivation.
~~~~~~Later~~~~~~
“What an idealistic little place.” Bibi Dong said as she looked through the window.
To think such a small place would hold someone like that boy.
One should never judge a book by its cover.
When she arrived in the small city, she walked to the same hotel as Bai Chen.
The Supreme Pontiff swiftly ordered that the whole hotel would be bought out. Once it was cleared out, she went to the room where he should be staying.
“...Hmm…”
The rose pink-haired lady opened the doors, and her senses scanned the whole place.
She can’t sense anything.
Still, she walked in and inspected the whole room and the bathroom.
But then, as she returned from the bathroom, she heard a kid’s voice.
“That's quite an inspection.”
Her whole body froze in place.
‘How did he do that? He slipped past my senses!?’
Now that she experienced that in person, she started to believe what the Ghost told her!
“So you are the one who wanted to see me in person? Quite the bold one.” Her confidence returned the very next second.
She walked over and sat down on the only chair. Her eyes scanned him a couple of times.
The woman can sense incredibly pure and potent spirit energy around him.
If she is not wrong, this child is feeding on those fruits... If that's true, he will become a monster in no time at all.
“I did. My objective is to be left alone. But your Spirit Hall is quite a persistent one. So, it means that I need to make some concessions.
I am willing to sell apples to your Spirit Hall. Cheaply, in turn, your people will leave me alone to my cultivation.”
“Hmm, who is stopping me from just taking whatever you have?” she asked him as she placed one leg on another. It was time for her to see what this child was.
“Ability to do that, obviously.” He casually told her that she can’t do it.
Such a reply made her lips twitch from anger.
“You think I can’t capture you?” She asked him while slightly moving her head to the side.
“Indeed, and we can continue the whole cat and mouse game. Though it would only last for a short while.”
“...”
She looked at him, trying to sense some sort of bluff and falsehoods.
But all she could see was that he was serious.
“...I see… so you are quite a capable one.” She replied after staring at him for a bit.
“Why don’t you join my Spirit Hall? Become my Hall’s Holy Son?” She asked him with a small smile.
“...An grand offer…but I do believe I will feel quite stuffed and will need to look behind my back the moment people will realise what I can do.”
Bibi Dong frowned when she heard him decline such an offer…
It was unheard of!
‘Does he have even better means than my Spirit Hall!? Impossible! With the foundations we have…’
But that moment she realised that her hunch should be right then! He can grow not just plants but spirit beasts, too!
If that is true…
Then, he has all the cultivation materials needed to reach the peak!
The woman bit her lower lip as frustration and jealousy started to rise in her gut.
“Regardless, we can have a more…friendly relationship, don’t you think? Spirit Hall has knowledge and thousands of years of experience.
Someone like you who just started on his journey as Spirit Master could enjoy what we have to offer.” She reasoned with him as she pushed down her jealousy.
Bibi Dong needs to figure out if the kid can influence the ageing of Spirit Beasts!
“That is true. But nothing comes for free, isn’t it?”
“...Smart one, aren't you?” Supreme Pontiff was pleased that the boy had a good head on his shoulders. But, in this situation, he could be less cunning…
“Well, I do need to survive. Your ghost doesn’t ask questions before he tries to kidnap me.”
He replied to her question, which made the woman realise that he doesn’t easily forgive, either.
“He was following my orders. The blame lies with me.” She ‘apologised’ before getting to the point.
“My goal is to know if you can age Spirit Beasts. If you can… then you will have an ally… unlike any other.” She said with a smile, implying that she would be his ally.
“...Hmm, to your question…” he motioned to the side, and a snake slither from thin air.
“...A Datura Snake…” Bibi Dong knew the beast.
It was around 4 to 5 metres long, but its aura and scale colour tell her that it was around 4 to 5 thousand years old.
“What you are looking at is Datura Snake, who was less than five hundred years old three days ago.” As he said that, the beast slithered close to him, showing affection.
“...500 years?” Her brain tried to process what she was looking at! She expected something like that…but… it's absurd!
“... you are telling me that… in just three days, it nearly grew ten times in age!?”
“...you are telling me that it grew up that quick?” She whispered in disbelief before snapping out and getting serious. Greed manifested in her eyes.
What she is looking at is the answer to all her problems!
“That is correct.”
“...I see…”
“It appears that the beast is loyal to you as well.” She said as her lips slightly thinned. Now that she knows the truth. There is no way she will allow him to be part of any other faction!
Worse of all, she can’t just chain him up and keep him in her basement. This kid has an ability to slip out from the reality.
It made sense…
If one has the ability to raise spirit beasts and make them loyal, he has to have means to protect himself.
“Yes, I can ask them to give spirit rings as well…”
Her eyes widened as she couldn’t contain herself anymore.
“I see~~~ then my Spirit Hall will assist you in any way we can. In turn, I want you to raise a Spirit Beast~ what do you say~.”
“...Sure. What is it you want?”
“I want a spider with Darkness element~ I want it at 100 thousand years~ can you do it?” She asked him, her eyes nearly looked fanatical.
“Spider huh… possible, though I do need a spider. Find one you would like. It can be of any age as long as it has the element you want.”
“That is easily solvable. Now the question is, how will I contact you? I do want to keep in touch.”
Bai Chen was slightly concerned. This woman started to show certain…tendencies.
When she arrived, she showed him the majesty of a high priestess, but the more they spoke, the more he noticed unhinged ‘affection’ towards his abilities.
The woman is becoming a yandere towards his power.
“Depends. If you have some sort of means to communicate, then that would be great.”
“Hmm, what if I give you a Titled Douluo or two? To keep you protected?” She said with a smirk. The lady was certain he would accept. Who wouldn’t want powerful minions who could solve an array of issues…
“And make them watch me the whole time? No, thanks.”
The lady almost pouted at him.
“Why do you have to be so difficult?” she sighed in annoyance before realising something.
“In that case.”
She pulled out a talisman with Spirit Hall insignia.
“This talisman represents my authority. All you need to do is show it to Spirit Hall’s people, and they will follow all of your commands.
You can ask them to contact me or any of the elders if you need their help.” As she explained, she slowly stood up from her seat. She then walked over to his side and patted his head.
For a second, Bai Chen felt like he was being treated like a toy or like a pet…
He had such a feeling at that moment.
“Give me a couple of days. I will find that spider. Once you have it, you may leave this city if you want to.”
“Fine then.”
