“...Whoa… so that’s the Unbeatable Strike! IT does look like a seasoned warrior!” A blonde girl in Orb military uniform exclaimed as they looked at the GAT unit enter the hangar full of M1 Astray units.

M1 is Orb’s answer to mobile suits. They were created from data they acquired from working together with Earth Alliance to develop the G-Weapons.

While they acquired some of it, they do lack the core features that made the original five machines so destructive.

“Yes. It does. I can see the work that went into it…wow…” a blue-haired girl with glasses commented, and the third one simply nodded as she looked at the machine intensively.

“Ladies. For several days Kira Yamato will be working with us.” Erica Simmons said to the three girls.

Soon after, Kira went down from his machine and walked over to them.

“Kira these three are the test pilots for our M1 Astray units. They been trying really hard to make it work. But as you know we lack programing experience for the OS.” The brown haired lady sighed.

“I see. Then we shall start with the OS, get it out of the way, and then we can switch to the upgrades I want.”

“...that is fine with me.” 

‘The way he spoke tells me that our issue is child play for him. I do want to see how he will solve it.’ Erica Simmons thought to herself.

“Great, then ladies, board your machines and show us what you achieved so far.”

“R-Right!”

“Roger!”

“We are on it!”

A few minutes later, Kira observed how the girls did…

What he saw was toddlers trying to move for the first time.

“No matter how hard you try, this won’t work. The neural interface was created with the Coordinator in mind. The interface can’t pick up Natural’s intent. 

For the interface, naturals are simply to slow. That is why to make it work an AI or a booster is the answer you need.” Kira explained as he got his laptop and went through files, there was a bunch of versions for the OS neatly arranged.

“Show me the OS you have and we can work out the kinks.” Kira said to the Senior Engineer.

“...Sure, one second.” the lady nodded before looking around for an assistant.

“Bring me a laptop with the M1 OS.” 

“One moment!” He rushed to get it.

“Okay, ladies, Kira saw enough. You can finish with your training.”

Erica Simmons spoke into the microphone as the three M1s proceeded to return to their hangars.

“We need to solve this and fast. Once OS is finished the pilots need to start to pile up the hours inside the mobile suits.

Orb doesn’t have numbers but we can counter that with quality.” Kira said as he painfully watched how the girls could barely control those machines.

“You are right. That is why you are here.” The brown-haired lady said with a small smile. 

A couple of moments later one of the engineers brought over an thick looking laptop. It was an ‘industrial’ heavy duty machine.

Kira immediately liked what he saw. However, his giddiness was short as he quickly connected his laptop to theirs and started to check.

“Right, legion, start running diagnostics and fix those while I will expand the code.

It does appear that you guys were using my 0.7.2 version. Not the most stable one.

Let’s update it, shall we?” Kira was able to speak with them and work on the OS at the same time, which slightly freaked out the people around him.

“...Hmmm, synch this part… this one to negative… installing AI boosters in accordance with neural link specks…and…execute.”

The Ultimate Coordinator pressed the button and lines of test proceeded to run… until it shown a symbol of Orb and beneath it was G.U.N.D.A.M.

“Done. You can start installing the OS. Can I take your mechanics and engineers now?” The brown-haired teen handed the laptop back to the confused engineer before the Pilot of Strike looked at Erica Simmons.

“...Sure. dedicate a couple of teams to him.” The Senior Engineer took the laptop from the engineer before ordering him to gather teams for Kira.

“...Impressive work. As expected of someone who made the OS from scratch.”

“...Well, it’s not scratch per se, but quite close to it. Yes, the ones who oversaw my work would just shove parts of programming and expect it to work.” Kira explained in a way that it looked like he had gone through another war before going to this one.

“Regardless, the OS is ready, and you can start upgrading your M1 if we have a chance. I can show you a couple of weapons I have been working on,” Kira smirked. He felt like he was having fun, and it had only been a couple of minutes, tops.

Being surrounded by that many mechanics and engineers. It's a blast!

“One thing at a time, Kira.” The woman replied with a strained smile.

“Holy shit… this kid is nuts…” the engineers were inspecting Strike. They can’t believe someone can push a machine this hard! The thrusters barely hold together under the strain!

That was not all; the extra was installed under pressure. Sure, this stuff works, but…

“Those guys aboard Archangel put all of this together inside the hangar of a warship!”

Mechanics who were inspecting and working to improve the Strike were taking it apart and checking all of the pieces.

What they saw was nuts and impressive. The pilot of this machine was madlad who piloted something like this.

“I want the thrusters replaced by my new Mirage Colloid powered and the new battery schematics installed. I also want joints retrofitted. The cockpit can be recycled, or you can use it; I don’t care.

“And this new Strike Package what you want to do with it?” One of the mechanics asked as he realised that some of the stuff is ZAFT tech…

“We will retrofit that.” Kira showed another schematic for the extras.

The mechanic realised that this would be more work for them!

“For now, just focus on putting everything together as I requested. The rest leave it to me.”

“B-But, sir! We have never built anything like this before!” the mechanic complained, as all of the stuff was nothing like he had seen before! Hell! Just making it is complex! He is not even considering putting that stuff together to make a working mobile suit.

“Just follow the schematics. Don’t worry about the details.”

“I-If you say so…”

As everyone scrambled to build an upgraded machine in a short few days… the other half worked half of the mechanics and engineers worked with M1 to make them operation and ready for war.

Now that Lord Uzumi knows of possibilities, he is throwing everything into preparing for an invasion from Blue Cosmos controlled Earth’s Alliance.

As everyone was doing their part, Kira focused on doing his part too.

“Alright, we are going to alter the frame, boys! Time for Strike Mark II to become a reality.” Kira pulled welding goggles and put them on. There was a huge grin on his face.

The mechanics next to him started to feel weird. Like they were back in their childhood days and they were playing in playgrounds.

As weird as it is, they started to smile as well.

Kira ripped the whole torso out and then proceeded to change and expand on the cockpit. The interior, alongside the motherboard and cables, had to come out.

A couple hours later the cockpit was out and Kira proceeded to put together the panoramic, AI boosted interface. This was purely AI empowered 360 view cockpit with little to no buttons on it.

With this, no one could try to hack or take away this machine. The neutral link is what allows only Kira to control it. Unless he gives this to another person, this was HIS Strike, end of story.

This was not just a new ‘luxury’ cockpit but a boost in performance, security, interface and overall view.

Next was boosting the batteries. The new frame will have four of them inside and two in the permanent package attached to it. The package can be removed, but at this moment, the Aile Mark 2 is the best configuration that will allow it to fly in the atmosphere.

Because it will have six batteries in total, the machine will be quite heavy, but Kira has an idea to combat the weight: Mirage colloid flowing through the frame.

Now, that is dangerous…normally, but he did his calculation, and Legion will make sure the machine doesn’t blow up.

With the frame becoming lighter, he can perform pseudo-wings of light, which gives him an insane boost in speed if he disperses all of the Mirage Colloid at once. 

Afterwards, the machine becomes heavy until the hollowed-out parts fill up again. 

Now this could be dangerous if not for the Phase Shift Armour. Unlike the original GAT units he has devised an more efficient way to utilise the armour. 

Since he is getting new batteries, one of them is completely dedicated to simply running the Phase Shift.

But it has two modes: intense and regular phase shift.

Intense is when energy is concentrated in a single point. With Legion’s calculation, he can predict where the bolt of energy will hit so the phase shift can concentrate there.

This Intense mode will give him more of a fighting chance if he gets overrun in sheer numbers.

Which will happen in Alaska, he is 100% certain.

Apart from those, he reworked how thrusters work. Mirage Colloids can interfere with electromagnetic fields, too. 

In other words, if he releases it at a specific frequency, it generates pseudo-anti-gravity capabilities.

Allowing absurd bursts in speed.

This technology is called ‘Wings of Light’, and it will be in around two and a half years.

The Ultimate Coordinator is quite proud of this, but he won’t be sitting on his ass with these achievements.

He is just getting started, that is why he wants Morgenroete. He wants to make stuff and advance tech.

The brown haired teen could make a company of his own but that would delay his tech progress. That is why a takeover is far better.

“Ma’am! This is madness! None of the technology is tested! How can we allow all of this to be put together like this? Those batteries have at least 300% longer work time! If there is some misalignment, that machine with the pilot would explode!” The head mechanic complained to the Senior Engineer, Erica Simmon.

The past couple of days were maddening! It's like working with live explosives.

The unknown tech from the GAT unit was one thing! But new, recently proposed batteries are a completely different thing!

It's not tested out in the field, and it takes months to figure out the kinks. But they just built it and then shoved it into the machine!

“We are not here to complain. Kira paid us with a new OS; all we could do was assist with what he wanted.”

‘But to think that we will get Buster, Aegis, Duel, and Blitz tech midway! This is a boon!’

The brown-haired lady realised that this new Strike was a second-generation GAT unit altogether! Utilising Buster’s weapon output, Aegis transformable mechanics on the Package, Blitz Mirage Colloid and Duel’s reinforced energy flow to beam sabers, this reborn machine was on a different level!

“But…”

“The boy has been doing this for months, in space with spare parts from mobile suits he has taken down himself. I am certain you heard of Strike’s exploits…

There is no need for me to remind you about the rest.” She said with a sigh.

‘Oh, how can I forget the extras and his weaponry? Only that kid has no qualms with putting anti-colony capable weaponry on a mobile suit.’

The lady recalled the needle thrower and his Linear Railgun Sniper rifle, which he reworked on his reborn machine.
