Gundam Seed: Kira Reloaded c40
Added 2024-11-19 16:22:08 +0000 UTCUnlike his counterpart, this Kira never had a strained relationship with his adoptive parents.
It's that he always was busy with his preparations and training.
He never questioned why his parents made him coordinator and the whole nonsense of that.
That is why he was quite excited to return back with his mech… no less!
However, the neighbours might have a thing or two to tell about the noise… But who cares!?
Thankfully, they have big gardens…
As the machine landed, the exhaust ruffled the trees and the grass, blowing away the leaves and causing gusts of wind.
Once on the ground, the thrusters turned off, and Strike Freedom got down on one knee. The hatch opened, and the seat was elevated.
Kira and Lacus, with their bags, got up from the seat and moved towards the offered hand as Legion helped them to get down.
As the pair ended up on the ground, two adults were waiting for them.
They looked slightly freaked out. Not every day. A war machine just lands like that in the backyard.
Kira then removed his helmet and showed his face.
“Kira? Is that you!? " the blue-haired lady, who went by the name Caridad, asked. She was Kira's adopted mother and, in truth, Kira's blood-related aunt from his mother’s side.
“Yes…” The Ultimate Coordinator awkwardly replied as he realised that he had not informed her about… pretty much anything…
“Where have you been!? I heard about you joining Earth Alliance, and then you defected and… why you didn’t say a thing!” There were a bunch of things going through her.
“...Well…” He pondered a bit.
“I was preoccupied?” He said that as he looked at Strike Freedom and then to Lacus.
“...Kira…” His dad understood him better.
“Dear, Kira got distracted. You know him and his obsessions.” He tried to mitigate the damage, but the blue-haired lady didn’t care.
“Doesn’t change the fact that he didn’t say a thing after Heliopolis was destroyed!”
“Well, I ended the war and returned home with your daughter-in-law no less!” He leaned at Lacus, who finally removed her helmet.
Her long hair was released as she undid her bun.
“...”
“...”
The pair were out of words before Kira’s mother finally was able to speak.
“...Kira…”
But then Lacus decided she could not keep silent anymore and finally spoke.
“Hello. It’s a p-pleasure meeting you. I am Lacus Clyne.” The girl slightly bowed to them. There was a bit of stuttering in her words.
“...Clyne… isn’t that!”
The pair looked at each other for a second before looking at her.
“Aren’t you perhaps Siegel Clyne’s daughter?” Haruma, Kira’s stepdad, asked with growing realisation.
“That would be my father,” Lacus replied to the question.
When the pair heard that, they looked at Kira with slight disbelief. The moment he shows interest in females, he picks a nation leader’s daughter!
Those are quite some standards!
“...I see, well, it’s getting late, so why don’t you get inside.” Caridad motioned for them to get in. She needs to think over and process what she was seeing before her.
“...I can assume that the machine is fine like this?” she asked them, as at the corner of her vision, she saw the monstrosity towering over their house.
“It's fine. The mobile suit is in standby mode, and the particles it's generating are keeping it in perfect condition, so rain or even snow won’t do a thing to it.” Kira proudly said to them. Making them realise that in some shape and form, he was part of its creation…
~~~
When Lacus was given a spare room, she changed into a casual one-piece dress before walking out to explore the house.
It was extremely mundane. She expected it to be more… special. Her reasoning is that Kira has such an overwhelming presence as a person. It was such a strong personality that ended the war after all!
So, she expected more unique things in his household. But all she saw was normal things one finds in any house.
And that relieved her! Sure, she was excited to see unfamiliar things, but normal… mundane—is even better!
Eventually, she arrived at Kira’s room. It was on the second floor, where all the bedrooms were, including the one she got. The moment she approached the doors, she saw a radioactive sign, and there was another sign that said keep it has hazardous materials inside…
The signs screamed to her… ‘unique’.
Regardless, she knocked on the doors.
“Come in.”
The next second, she opened the doors and saw a spacious room separated in two by an ‘invisible wall’ On one side was a workshop-like setup full of stuff… she didn’t have a name for. There were robotic models, plastic models, tools, a pile of laptops in all sorts of states, and a translucent plastic box full of computer parts.
Then, there was another part of the room: a bookshelf full of books, a wardrobe, a large TV, a gaming console placed on a shelf on the TV stand, and, lastly, a single bed.
And then she saw stuff on the walls, like several diplomas and medals for something, posters of planets, a period table, math equations…
As the girl explored the room that screamed ‘Kira’ to her, the teen in question lay in bed, simply chilling after a ‘long day’.
One wouldn’t believe that less than 20 minutes ago, he was in space!
“Did you find everything you wanted to find?” He asked with a teasing tone.
“Hmmm, I did.” She nodded at him as she walked to the workshop side and inspected some of the models. As a curious one, she inspected some of the things he had made.
Kira smiled slightly, seeing her not channelling her strong front and instead behaving like a girl her age.
But then Kira’s mother walked.
“You two, do you want anything to eat?”
“Oh, yes! It has been ages!” The Ultimate Coordinator perked up upon hearing homemade food.
Seeing that he likes homemade food made Lacus desire to cook for him.
“Yes, please.” The girl nodded before walking over to the blue-haired lady.
“I wish to help as well,” Lacus suggested it was time she learned to cook!
Caridad smiled slightly, hearing that.
“Rest for today. I am sure it was a long day for you two.” After saying that, she turned around and left.
“Since it's rest, we will rest~” Kira ‘manifested’ behind his girlfriend and ‘grabbed’ her.
He pulled her into his bed.
Eep!
The girl squeaked, didn’t expect such action.
Kira smirked as he looked at the girl lying under him.
“...Umm…” She blushed as it was embarrassing for her.
“Relax~ we cuddle today~” He ended up moving her to her side while he got behind her and hugged the pinkette.
“This is the best~.”
The girl slightly trembled as she could feel his breath on her neck.
“...” She didn’t say a thing. Instead, she slowly turned around and looked at him.
The pair of them simply gazed at each other.
“...”
“...”
~~~
Since it was getting late, simple sandwiches will do.
As the pair of them sat down at the table, the blue-haired lady was able to process what was happening before her and finally ask.
“So… tell me how you two meet, " she asked while sitting at the other side of the table.
“Rescue pod, the warship I was on, was passing by Junius Seven, where Lacus pod was. I pulled it in with my mobile suit,” Kira explained as he eyed the sandwiches.
“I was organising memorial service before my ship was attacked,” Lacus explained to her how she ended up in the ruins of a colony.
Midway Haruma also joined in, as he was curious to hear some war stories!
Not that he will ask those in front of his wife…
“I see. Quite an encounter.” Caridad nodded.
“So it's over? The latest news is that there is a ceasefire meeting going on, " his stepdad asked as he was eyeing sandwiches, too.
“It is over. I blew up most of their mobile suit.” He shrugged, making his stepmother sigh and Haruma nerviously laugh.
But Lacus was already used to such ‘explanations’.
“It is true. Kira made sure we have peace.” The girl leaned her head on his shoulder.
“Well, you asked to end it, so it's the least I can do.” Kira ended up leaning his head on her.
“...”
“...”
“Well, it appears you two have figured out small details. So what now? Are you still with the military?” Caridad was happy enough that the pair had developed a proper relationship.
“I am with Orb’s military now. Earth Alliance tried to sacrifice us in a trap for ZAFT, so we kind of deserted our positions.”
“...Oh…”
“...”
“Yes, well, I got a job related to Mobile Suit developments and still have a rank in the military.” The Ultimate Coordinator explained to them as he was eating the last sandwich, which he consumed quickly.
“...That is good. You got the work you always wanted!” The pair of adults got happy for Kira.
“...Yes, well… I most likely will get nobility rank from Lord Uzumi, too.”
“...”
“...”
All of a sudden, they got strange expressions.
“...Kira, did Lord Uzumi say anything else?” Caridad probed, making the pair of coordinators look strange at them. Lacus could feel that there was something odd.
“Well, I kinda will be instrumental in Orb’s defence and weapon development as well as space elevator construction. So I will be busy.” He told them what he would be doing from now on, which was not a small amount of work!
The pair of Yamatos looked at each other.
“I see. It appears whatever we tried to do to give you a normal life didn’t work.” The blue-haired lady sighed before expanding.
“Your talent is quite special even among coordinators, Kira.” She said with a serious tone, thinking she was revealing something big.
But Kira had a nonchalant look. He already knew a long, long time ago.
“I know, that masked clown called me the ‘Ultimate Coordinator’.” The pilot of Strike Freedom said while taking a sip of his tea.
“!”
“!”
“...by masked clown… do you mean Rau le Creuset?” Lacus asked with a strained smile.
“Yep, I fought him in the last fight. Patrick sicks him on me like some bloodhound.” Kira rolled his eyes.
“...He is… was one of the best pilots we ever had…” Lacus slightly…had a strange look, but then again… she wondered how many ace pilots he beat in that fight. It was absurd just to think that he ended the whole thing with one machine…
“I guess. I mean, he did have a Gundam with a unique ability. Pity I had to destroy it.” Kira sighed at the loss.
“...You still love your machines.” Caridad sighted, recalling all the times they had to buy parts and things for him to ‘play’ with.
“Indeed, maybe even more so after I got a job making them.” The Ultimate Coordinator smiled while saying that.
“I see, so what now?” Haruma asked him, wondering how things would progress from now.
“Well, I will take a break until people start looking for me. I am waiting for Morgenroete to be transferred to me.” Kira dropped a bombshell, which made them, for a second, try to grasp what he meant.
“Wait! Isn't it the biggest producer of spaceships, shuttles and mobile suits in Orb!? And what do you mean by transfer!?” Haruma swiftly understood what he was saying! But he thought he would be working for them, not OWN THEM!
“It's a long story. The nobles of Orb who owned Morgenroete went behind the backs of the government and joined hands with Earth Alliance in making the mobile suits in Heliopolis, so I asked Lord Uzumi if I could take it over.”
“...And he just gave it to you?”
“Not easily, no. I needed to end the war first,” Kira explained with a small smirk.
“...I see…”
The pair of them realised that Lord Uzumi was betting on ‘Ultimate Coordinator’ and his abilities, and now that he had done it, he would get the company. Still… something doesn’t add up.
While Lacus smiled seeing the interactions, Kira was being naughty in her eyes for not telling that he robbed the biggest terrorist in known history…
