Gundam Seed: Kira Reloaded c39
Added 2024-11-18 16:26:47 +0000 UTCAboard Ame-No-Mihashira, the crew of three Ships looked at the live broadcast from Junius Seven.
Whatever remaining ships from Earth Alliance and ZAFT gathered here to sign a ceasefire treaty.
“Quite the mild terms.” Mu La Flaga spoke after reading over on the screen.
“It appears Earth Alliance regained Panama before the treaty.” Kira was wondering why Panama or Victoria was not mentioned.
The treaty is simple: ZAFT will get their independence and keep all the territories they conquered. That doesn’t include the Moon’s base, which ZAFT blew up. The moon will remain with Earth Alliance.
“That is true. We lost Panama when you were rampaging through the ZAFT fleet. The Earth Alliance was able to muster whatever forces they had to get their Mass Drive.”
The Desert Tiger explained to him,
The Ultimate Coordinator nodded. Internally, he noted that if Earth Alliance keeps their Mass Drive, then the chance for a second war is more than 50% in his book.
Not that he will mention that. Instead, he commented on something else.
“I am surprised how quickly they got Father-in-Law back there.” Kira slightly smiled, seeing Siegel right there exchanging a handshake with the leader of the Earth Alliance.
Kira doesn’t even know the name of this guy. Not that this guy will be around for long; he will most likely be replaced in the next two years.
“Well, my father is the one who created the council in the first place, alongside Athrun’s father,” Lacus replied as she looked at Athrun, who was with Cagalli at the back.
The pinkette was relieved that the blue-haired teen quickly got over the whole thing.
‘He even defected to Orb.’
Lacus wondered if he had followed Kira’s example and decided to do whatever he wanted and focus only on that.
“Not being bothered that he was a rebel less than a day ago?” Kira joked as he watched the pair start to sign the ceasefire papers.
“...Let’s forget about that small detail.” The Songtress smiled at him.
“...Indeed, by this point, I realised that we are renegades, traitors and all that stuff. We could totally be pirates now.” Kira pumped a fist in excitement.
“We could totally pillage and stuff. I could collect all the mobile—” Lacus grabbed his ear.
“I am not marrying a pirate!” She said in a snappy voice while pulling his ear.
“Ahh, tatatata! It hurts!” Kira grimaced from pain as he felt his ear starting to burn.
Everyone seeing this either laughed or ‘laughed’ nerviously.
They did realise that they were ex-rebels, renegades, and traitors. However, they quickly got added back to the new military or back to their old one in the case of ZAFT’s Eternal’s crew.
“Regardless, for now, you can forget about fights, mister! We need to discuss what we will be doing next.” Lacus sharply said as she released his ear.
“...Yeah…” The Ultimate Coordinator agreed with her. His mind wandered away as he realised that the war was over. The weight moved away from his shoulders.
His wartime mentality is getting shelved for now.
With war gone, his mind felt blank as he thought what now. The only thing he is thinking of doing now is getting Lacus to be his wife.
Apart from that, what else there is to it?
‘Right, the elevator thing, a bunch of things I want to build to improve access to the space.
To actually put Humans in proper 22nd century. Shooting rockets to space is so 20th and 21st century…’
Kira's switch was flipped. It went from ‘war’ to ‘peace’.
“...What is it? Your gaze just went away.” Lacus looked concerned for a second. Did she pull his ear too much? But she didn’t use that much force!
“Nothing, I thought what to do next.” He grabbed her hand.
“We should return to Orb. I have to set a couple of things into motion.” His voice was quite excited as he pulled her away towards all the docks.
“Wait, we still need to organise everything! Archangel needs to prepare for the descent!” Lacus looked worried for a second.
“Yes, but we have Freedom!”
“Huh? Are you serious!?” The pinkette looked worried.
“Don’t worry. Besides, I want to see you in a pilot suit.” Kira shrugged her concerns aside. Then he looked at the Archangel crew.
“Can you guys get Duel and Blitz to the planet’s surface? I need to take Lacus with me to Orb. I think it's about time I introduced her to my parents, too.”
Lacus' eyes widened for a second as she got worried there!
‘H-His parents! I-I-I forgot!’
For some reason, it was worse than being on a battlefield!
“Sure thing, Kid! Have fun, and don’t forget to take a couple of days off! Maybe a week or a month! You deserve it!” Mu La Flaga gave him a casual salute, saying to leave the easy stuff for him.
“Leave it to us, Kira.” Captain smiled at him as well, and Kira took Lacus away.
…
…
…
“That look on her face. It's priceless.” The blonde lieutenant laughed after the pair were gone. Other people joined in the laughing. They had never seen the pink princess look like that!
“That Kira always knows how to make someone lose their confidence in a matter of moments.” Captain Ramius joked alongside the lieutenant. The pair were much more relaxed when the war was finally over.
Everyone is used to Lacus’ confident leader-like aura, but when it comes to Kira, he can easily shatter whatever tough front she has.
~~~
“Kira… why can’t we return with the ship? I mean… it’s not urgent, isn’t it?” Lacus asked her fiance as he was going through the changing room lockers.
The girl wants to focus on what to say to Kira’s parents! She can only imagine them being amazing people! His mother should be super intelligent, and his father should be fearless like him!
Or something like that! So, she needs time!
“There is no need for us to stick around, Lacus! War is over, and I have a bunch of things to do! And take you on a bunch of dates! There is no need for us to stick around in the military base!” He said it with a matter-of-fact voice as if it were extremely obvious that they should be doing this!
Lacus blushed a bit when she heard the date part! They were on just one, and it was in the middle of the Sahara!
“...Still…”
She didn’t know how to argue with that!
“Aha!” The Ultimate Coordinator pulled out a pink and white Orb pilot suit.
“Just for you, so quickly dress up.” He gave it to her as he quickly walked to his locker as well.
Lacus grimaced for a second before sighing in defeat.
“...Fine. I guess I should have expected this. He would never sit idly.” She walked over to the changing room and changed out of her kimono and into the pink suit.
As she walked out, Kira was already waiting for her.
Whistle
“You should pilot a mobile suit, Lacus.” Kira nodded seriously after whistling.
Lacus blushed before answering with an embarrassed tone. “I leave that to you. Now, where should I put my clothes? Besides, what will we wear in your parents' house?” She raised a legitimate question.
He has not been in that place for the past three years. Studying and training in Heliopolis took all of his time.
“You are right. You should grab your stuff from Eternal, and I will do that in Archangel. We will meet next to Strike Freedom.” He said after pondering seriously.
“...Fine.” She sighed in resignation. But then she got serious! She should face her fears head-on! Like Kira did! Less than a couple of days ago! He took on the whole navy of ZAFT!
~~~
Kira looked at Lacus, who had a shoulder bag full of stuff. It was pink, which means it was her stuff.
He already had his custom backpack inside the mobile suit.
“Well, kid, have a great stay in Orb. We will join you in a couple of days, " the head mechanic said with a slightly jealous tone as he said his goodbye.
“We will meet again, Murdock. I only trust you guys to take care of my mobile suits.” Kira joked as he took Lacus's bag. The girl looked at the gathered mechanics. She realised they wouldn’t see each other for a considerable amount of time once they left.
“Many thanks for keeping the mobile suits running.” The girl respectfully bowed, making the mechanics blush a bit. They didn’t expect to get praised like this.
“It was our pleasure, Miss Lacus. I wasn’t expecting the kid we picked up in Heliopolis like this to end the whole thing. But that’s war.” The head mechanic smiled while looking at Kira.
“Stuff happens, anyway.” Kira pulled Lacus into a hug with his right-hand while, with his left, he grabbed the line that would raise him to the mech’s cockpit.
“Hold onto me, Lacus.” He said to his girlfriend as they started to get pulled up.
The girl looked at how they rose up. She held tightly on him, clenching her pink helmet tightly. She wondered why the entire space station had gravity. A hangar without it would be much better to work in!
Eventually, they were at chest level. The seat came out. Since the mech had a nuclear reactor, the cockpit placement was different. It was at chest level. Instead of the entrance through the torso, a seat emerged from the chest, and one sat down and then was taken to the cockpit.
As Kira sat down, he pulled Lacus to his lap and was then taken to a sphere-shaped cockpit.
As the monitors started to power up, Kira placed the luggage behind the seat and made Lacus sit sideways.
“Put on your helmet.” He said to her as he took the controllers.
“...Fine...” she sighed. The girl already had her hair in a bun, but it was going to be stuffy for her.
“Don’t worry, the trip won’t be long.”
He smiled at her cute rebelliousness.
“Begin the checkups, Legion, and contact Orb. Tell them we will be descending to the planet’s surface.”
[Understood, sir. Contacting Orb]
Kira watched all the check-ups. Reactor and mirage colloid particles were stable, and they could leave.
As the machine disconnected from the magnetic hold and holstered the rifles, it moved towards the opening gates.
The pilot pulled the thruster power lever to the maximum allowed and then pressed the accelerator. The HIMAT thrusters ignited, and the machine accelerated out of the hangar before moving toward the planet below.
“Hold on tight, dearest~. It will get a little bit bumpy,” Kira said to Lacus before addressing his AI.
“Legion, begin planetary entrance sequence.”
[Rerouting particles to the front.]
The purple and red particles rushed to the front of the machine, creating a shield.
Seconds later, the Gundam became a meteor that was rushing towards the planet.
Lacus looked at this with a slight wonderment as she had never expected to do something like this. Well, at least she ended up in a mobile suit, and it was not in a war situation!
“Amazing isn’t it? That is why I love mobile suits. It gives one unprecedented freedom to do whatever one wants.” As he said that, the mobile suit entered the atmosphere, and the particle deployment shifted. The wings adjusted for flight inside the atmosphere.
“...It is. But, I will leave the piloting to you.” She said that while hugging him tighter with her left hand.
“As you wish.” He chuckled as he felt how nervous her tone was.
Soon enough, they were above Orb’s main island. Kira used his neutral interface to ping his house as he didn’t remember the exact address; instead, he used his sight to locate it.
Lacus looked curiously at where they were flying to.
It was quite a large house on the outskirts of Orb. Just realising how big it was, she slightly got nervous.
“Relax, they won’t bite.” Kira joked as he felt how tense she got.
The moment they found the place where the machine started to descend in the backyard, there was more than enough space for it.
Comments
Time to meet the parents! I wonder if they are like in canon or if they have changed through Kira's influence? Thanks for the chapter! Looking forward to reading much more!
