Chapter 79

It turns out a shower still does its magic as Alex could feel refreshed after a ten-minute shower; just standing under falling water does the job.

After turning the water off, Alex grabbed a towel and began to dry himself. After a couple of moments, he stepped out and looked for his clothes.

“...”

“...”

“...Right…”

For a second, he sighed as he consecrated, and moisture in the air turned into crystal dust that began to weave and bond together, eventually turning into clothes.

“...Wow…”

When he touched the material, it felt like silk or something similar. He created a black, long-sleeved shirt and a blue shirt over it.

For pants, he made simple grey slacks.

“Not bad for a first try.” He commented while looking at himself in the mirror.

‘Not bad, indeed! You can instinctually wield crystals alongside lightning, too! Quite a potent combination.’

‘Yeah, I know what the combo does.’ Alex recalled how he nuked a Sattelite weapon with Inori’s help.

That move was intense. He can synch powers with his ‘Eve’ to double, if not quadruple, his powers. It would be absurd if he thought about this.

The virus boost is insane to his overall power, with limitless potential for growth in any way he wants, from just his growth to consumption of organic life.

He recalled that he could weaponise souls, too, which was his Power of Kings ability!

‘Damn, this single move to Guilty Crown made me overpowered, but knowing the dungeon…’

**Gulp**

He expects some intense adjustments from that place!

Regardless, for now, he is not concerned about that place; instead, he wants some food–

“...And tea, I am feeling thirsty.” He whispered to himself as he walked over to the kitchen and began to explore for cups and tea.

The place was new to him, and he had not fully adjusted to this flat, unlike his house in the DxD universe.

‘I wonder how the virus would work on Devils and all those supernatural species.’

The Virus Progenitor pondered as he found a white mug and some grey tea.

‘Depends on potency. Originally, it was quite useless, from my observations. It was deadly for humans as they had no energy to protect themselves.

But after you took it over and mixed it with my blood and energy…

I can only guess. You could be quite deadly unless someone finds an antidote swiftly, but then again, if you could find a way to increase the potency, you could truly be called Apocalypse Dragon.’ 

Albion explained his thoughts about this situation. He was quite proud, like a father who had a successful son.

‘For some reason, I find the whole idea of spreading the virus to every inch of the earth not a bad idea…’

‘Hah! That is to be expected! You are fundamentally a different species now! Your biology, instincts, and nature work differently.

Just wait for your mates to wake up. I can only imagine how different they will be.’

‘Females?’

‘Females.’

The pair of dragons agreed that regardless of what species they are, they can agree on one thing.

Females are emotional.

‘I thought dragons usually don’t have gender.’ Alex recalled something about the dragon species.

‘In a way, as living energy, I operate differently. Since you are male, I am male too.’

‘Interesting, regardless. I am a little bit concerned, but then again, power has a price.’ As Alex commented, he called forth some crystals, which appeared from his fingers; they were like claws.

Just as easily, they disappeared. It was absurd how effortlessly he could make them—he could create houses and buildings without effort!

After a quick check, he poured water into the kettle and heated it. Then, he put a tea bag and two teaspoons of sugar into the white mug.

With tea preparations done, he went to make some sandwiches.

While the brands are unknown to him, like the bread and butter, they still tasted similarly. The feeling he got from this place was that he was on holiday in a foreign but familiar country.

It was similar… yet different—something he can enjoy for a while.

Though he doubts he will stay here for long, the Virus situation is under control. He never expected to become a virus, but it's a good situation nonetheless. 

Apart from that, there is nothing else for him to do. He could maybe get some tech for his home world.

‘It is 2008 there, after all.’

However, just thinking about the ambitious devils that want a piece of him makes him pause a bit.

Yet, he doesn’t feel the same distaste as he did before.

‘That is because you are different now. Before, it was human instinct to get away from ‘evil’ threats. The devil’s demonic energy naturally is not meant for humans. That is what you are feeling when you are close to one.

But now it's different. Now, you are also like a predator, a living embodiment of a virus. You want to spread your influence everywhere; that is what viruses do.

Albion gave him an overall observation, to which Alex agreed. He was no longer reluctant, but he had another place to visit.

‘Final Fantasy XIII… that place has big summons and crystal-based powers…’

Alex is leaning towards that. He wants more Crystal powers and a Summon!

‘Bahamut… a dragon-like summon.’

‘Not bad choice for a mount.’

The White Dragon commented casually on making Eidolan a mount…

‘I guess you are right about that.’ Alex imagined riding a big dragon onto a battlefield, giving him the vibes of Warhammer. 

‘Besides, there is not that much to do after the whole saving world thing. It's not like DxD where an array of events happen.’

‘That’s the difference between a game and a book series.’ Albion sagely commented, like an expert on this subject.

‘That sounds hilarious as it's coming from a character from the book.’ The Virus Progenitor joked as he brought his cup of tea and sandwiches to the table and began to eat.

‘Says the guy who invaded an anime world.’ Albion got back at him.

‘Hilarious as well.’

‘Yes, now show me the details of your new skills. We need to figure out everything we can about them and where to continue with your training.’

Albion said with a pondering tone. The dragon is excited to learn more.

‘Give me a second.’ 

Alex looked around for a second, looking for somewhere to write on.

Eventually, his eyes landed on a notebook of some sort.

He got up from his seat, walked over, and picked it up.

After a quick inspection, he realised that he could use it without worrying that he would make Julis angry. It looked like her notebook—an empty one. A few missing pages won’t make her flip, right?

‘Can’t you just make paper now?’

For a second, the Virus Progenitor stopped in his tracks. He looked embarrassed but quickly got over it and focused on his crystal manipulation.

A thin, glass-like sheet appeared in his hand. The next second, he caused letters to appear on it—without using his blood!

‘Hoh, so you no longer need to drop blood, interesting. But then again, do you even need blood now?’

The dragon commented with a curious tone.

Alex simply shrugged as he looked at the sheet of crystal ‘paper’.

 The first thing he wanted to check was Combination Casting.

[COMBINATION CASTING]

[Ability to cast two inborn magic natures at will. This works, disregarding how volatile they can be.]

‘Damn, this alone makes it broke!’

‘If this is true, then you could potentially wield something like Dragon and Anti-Dragon at once!’ Albion sounded both awed and even… spooked!

‘Yes, but it says inborn natures. For me, it developed because the virus by nature is crystal, and my nature was lightning.’

‘And your nature is a dragon too. You are a dragon.’ The White Dragon Emperor reminded him.

‘Yeah, yeah, but it started with lightning.’ Alex rolled his eyes before looking at other skills he had.

All of the ‘Dragon’ skills became ‘Genesis Dragon’ skills. They all have ‘Virus’, making them more potent in a way. 

But at the same time, he is feeling that he is streamlining himself.

‘Virus, virus, virus… what if Dungeon prepared something anti-virus and my new powers will be useless.’ Alex slightly complained about this small detail.

‘It is what it is. That is why you have your new martial arts, lightning, Sword Blacksmith, the bow and Falna.’

To Dragon's reassurance, Alex could simply shrug as he checked the other stuff.

The next one on the list was:

‘In other words, the virus is so strong that you can manipulate the soul and crystalise it. I can assume that the medium for this is the tattoo on your right hand.’

Alex looked at the tattoo on the back of his right hand. It was quite neat, but to think that he could pull this off. It made him think…

Could he do different variations of this power and use it more strange ways? After all, he is a virus now, and his form is quite fluid to some degree. He should be able to become a cloud of crystal dust or even morph into something else entirely…

‘Like a dragon…’

He looked at the last entry in the skill list.

An actual dragonfication, the ability to become a dragon.

‘Don’t look that surprised. Even without the virus, you could have become a dragon anyway. All this thing did was shorten the period it takes for you to achieve such transformation.’

The Virus Progenitor slowly nodded, but he wondered if he could transform into other things if he invested time.

He could potentially become a swarm or a crystal storm…

‘I can already imagine a badass entry to a battlefield with these abilities.’ For a second, he got giddy, his weeb mind wandering to these scenes.

‘Not bad, we could practise these inside the dungeon at one point. Dragon Emperor should have a style, after all.’ Albion sagely nodded at what he was seeing; he wholeheartedly agreed with what Alex was thinking.

“Right…” Alex snapped out from his delusions as Albion distracted him. Now he is feeling like an 8th grader again!

After ‘Power of Kings’, the next was probably the most interesting one he wanted to read about.

[NEW SPECIES]

[Via the usage of Apocalypse Virus and the blood of Heavenly Dragon, new hybrid species were created. As the ‘Adam’ of these species, you have the most potent control of the virus alongside your ‘Eve’]

‘It doesn’t specify if I can only have one Eve or many… This is weird.’ The Virus Progenitor double-checked all of the explanations. He is interested in how this thing works.

‘As the one who controls it, you should be the one who decides such things. You did wrestle the control from that little girl in the other realm.’

For a second, Alex recalled that pink-haired girl who looked exactly like Inori. It's a pity that the girl was corrupted by the power of the virus. Little girls like those should not be exposed to this much power.

‘Yes, I guess… I do feel that there are not that many limitations in what I could do. There is that sense of liberation, a scary sense that I could do anything. The only limit is what I desire.’

‘...’

‘What you experience is when a huge amount of power is given to an individual who didn’t achieve it naturally. By this point, you should focus on cultivating your control over it instead of it controlling you.’

“I know, Sensei Albion.” Alex joked when he heard that advice. Listening to a dragon like Albion telling him to ‘moderate’ himself was hilarious.

“Ugh!!!” Julis' tired voice brought the White Dragon Emperor back from his conversation with Albion. He looked to the side and saw Julis walking over to the kitchen. She looked tired and sleepy, and her hair was a mess.

She ignored Alex as she went to the kitchen.
