Pillaging My Way Through Another World c6

‘Damn that one hurt.’ Ren complained to himself as he was feeling stiff. His clothes were now too small, and the same was true about his shoes.

‘Oh, hell no. Do I need to make clothes now?’ The Pillager teen frowned before he looked at Lilian.

‘Right… she can do it. At times like these, I am happy she took something like Tailoring as a skill.’

He sighed as he looked at her approaching the grey wolf and took a deep breath. She pointed the blade at the wolf’s head.

For a second… two…  three, the blade was shaking above the wolf’s head.

“...C’mon, you can do it. It’s your or the wolf. Take your pick because the beast will bite you when it returns from the dream world.”

He commented from the distance as he watched her try to kill it.

“R-Right!”

The girl closed her eyes before opening and then thrusting into the wolf’s neck.

“...”

“...”

“...I can’t stab it!”

The girl tried to push the blade, but it couldn’t pierce the fur and the flesh.

Ren looked at what she was doing. She is trying to stab it.

But…

‘Difference in parameters… great…’

He realised what was going on. With a sigh, he walked over, placed his hands on hers, and pushed them down.

At that moment, blood started to leak from the wound and the mouth.

Notification windows manifested in front of her. There were two level-ups right from this one that he helped to kill…

“Two of them?”

“Yes, you have to consider the level difference and that I helped. Otherwise, you could have gained more than two.” He clarified as he removed his hands from her.

“...I am fine as it is!” She quickly clarified to him while waving her free hand. She didn’t want him to misunderstand!

“I expected only one level up…” Lilian blushed, and Ren raised an eyebrow at her response.

“You have never played an RPG before?” He asked, already knowing to some extent what to expect.

“Umm… does phone games count? I used to play this one with candies…”

“Ugh… no wonder you are so clueless…”

‘This is crazy… to send noobs like these to such a bad Isekai…’

No doubt most of his class are headless chickens in this situation.

‘Those basic shooters they used to play won’t help them here.’

“...I know! Okay? I understand that I am not like you. It's not fair that you are prepared for this.” She puffed her cheeks at him. The girl… sort of recovered; she was less afraid and worried about what he could do to her…

‘Is Hale already doing its thing?’ Ren was surprised at how quickly his new inborn skill was doing its thing.

“Right…” The pillager teen rolled his eyes at her before looking at other wolves.

“Your Strength stat has tripled; let’s see if you can stab the rest of them.”

“Okay.”

Lilian walked to the next closest wolf and tried to stab it.

It looked like it was working, but she was struggling. The stab was slow…

To the point that the wolf started to wake up from the pain…

‘For the love of…’

Ren quickly appeared next to her and helped to kill it again.

This time, there was only a single level up for her.

[Level Up!]

‘Oh, I levelled too!’

There was a smile on his lips, and he loved his rapid growth. He levelled up after killing the black wolf and now levelled up again after assist killing two wolves.

“Good, with your latest level up, you should be able to kill the rest, " he commented about her level up.

“O-Okay, let me try.” The girl nodded at him as she walked over to the next one. She tried to stab it, but to her surprise, it was not as hard, as she was able to do it this time around without much difficulty.

“O-Oh! Two level-ups now!” The girl gushed at her power-up.

“That’s because their levels are different. We already killed the two strongest, and the rest are weaker. That is why it's easier for you to kill this one.”

She nodded her head at the explanation. The girl quickly went for the fifth one. Killing it quite easily. There were another two level-ups.

Before killing the last one, which was next to a tree, she got only one level up from that one.

“Done.”

The girl walked back to him. Now that her level had increased, she looked less scared. The power flowing through her gave her extra confidence.

“Good, now try using your bow.”

With a nod, she pulled out her bow and tried to shoot.

Lilian's eyes perked up when she saw that she could pull the string and then shoot.

Her mouth slowly opened when she heard a swoosh sound coming from that shoot.

“Not bad, not bad at all.”

“Yes…”

The girl was in awe of her strength as she tried out her highest stat, dexterity, which had three times the growth of her other stats.

So, she needed to see what 27 in dexterity can do.

She swiftly tried to climb the same tree, and with the same awe, she was on the branch with just several steps.

“A-Amazing! " the black-haired girl gushed as she spun out from the tree and walked to Ren, who was impressed to see the girl switch from a princess-like attitude to a little girl who wanted to have fun in a park.

“Yes, now your next job.” Ren turned from her and looked at the big black wolf.

“You will make clothes for me.” He said while looking from the wolf down to his feet. His toes were poking out from his sneakers.

“Sure.” She nodded at his request.

“That's Good. Then I shall begin with making some leather for you.” With a nod, he pulled out his knives and began to work on those pelts.

Lilian smiled. She was happy to get more leather so she could make more clothes and stuff like gloves, actual leather shoes, and another backpack.

There was an array of stuff she needed to have if she wanted to live properly in this place!

Ren quickly rendered the wolves for parts.

It was so… gruesome that Lilian stopped thinking and watched with a mix of horror and disbelief how Ren turned a big canine into a mountain of organic parts.

Once one was done, the next followed soon after. Before long, the girl had her materials, and they returned to their campfire.

Now, the mountain that had only goblins had wolf meat next to it, too.

Ren is not thinking of eating those.

“I will cook some fish while you start on my clothes.”

“Okay, I'll need to take your measurements.” Lilian agreed with him before asking to be measured.

“Sure.”

~~~~~~Later~~~~~~
The girl quickly got him a basic set of black leather clothes. The black wolf was enough for both trousers and a top. It was strange to wear proper leather, but at the same time, there was a certain primal feeling to wearing something one had killed beforehand.
After the clothes, Lilian needed to test out how to make shoes, as she had never done anything like this before.
“I think I will waste some of that material…”  Lilian admitted after failing to make something that looks like a shoe, not a sock.
“I think I can help you with that.” Ren knew where she was struggling.
“I can help with some of the material by using alchemy on the bones, " he said after removing scales from the fish. The teen decided to gut the fish now instead of waiting for it to roast.
“That could work. My tailoring only works on cloth.” She nodded at his suggestion. If she had a form to work around with, she could make proper shoes!
“Good, then let me finish this first.”
Once he was done with the fish, he brough some bones from the wolves and then began to mould them into a shoe’s pad.
“That’s great! Can you do it for mine, too? " she asked him after seeing him make a greyish form. The girl realised how amazing this was!
With him around, she could just make clothes and shoes however she wanted! It’s simply amazing!
“... all right.”
The girl quickly showed her dandy feet to him.
For a second, he looked at her feet. He needed a couple of moments to compose himself before starting to work.
“Raise the heel a bit.” She asked him, then gave some more instructions.
Ren quickly realised that he was like a designer or something for the girl, and she was a shoe buyer…
In the middle of a monster-infested forest,
Yep, totally not crazy. It was funny how quickly she overcame her traumatic experience—or at least his Commanding Presence, and Hale pushed it aside.
After a couple more moments, the girl began to work on the shoe after Ren had made more tools for her.
He quickly noticed that she already had a leather set of tools, like several needles and knives.
She quickly adjusted to that tailoring skill.
It was evident that she had done something like that before, maybe as a hobby, before arriving in this world.
~~~

“What do you think?” Lilian puffed her chest. She was proud of the shoes she had made. They were combat boots or, more like, travelling boots.

“Great. I didn’t expect they could be as comfortable as sneakers.” Ren commented after putting them on. He moved around for a bit, testing it out.

“It is strange, but I think it's the magic that makes them like that.

My tailoring reached level 7 after all of this.”

The black-haired girl honestly commented on the weirdness of the situation.

“Yes, video game logic.” He nodded at her before going through several motions. After doing that, he nodded to himself: This was a good upgrade! He could now fight without worrying about clothes; he had a personal tailor.

“It sounds like this world is following completely different physics and logic,” Lilian commented. She was targeting the skills and their usage.

“That is precisely what I am saying. You can already perform movements beyond regular human capabilities. Yet, your muscles have not changed.”

The black-haired girl slowly nodded. What he said made sense. With her speed, she could travel through the forest at a rapid pace.

If she can do this at level 9, what about higher levels?

“Yes, so what now?”

To her question, he looked at the sky and looked where the sun was casting the shadow.

“Do you think the place follows the same day and night principle?” She asked him. Now that she had overcome her trauma and fear, questions started to arise.

She wonders if they are on a planet or some magical realm. Does it have a solar system? What kind of gods exist? Are there dragons? What about elves or dwarves? She remembers watching those movies with them.

“It does follow the basics: the sun is rising in the East and sets down in the West. However, I have no idea about seasons.” He replied to her as he checked the shadow.

‘So it's just past midday,’ Ren reasoned from what he saw. Thankfully, he learned how to orientate without a clock, one of the weird things he learned from his father.

“I see…”

“For now, train, then tomorrow we can move out and begin hunting down our classmates.”

Lilian’s behaviour shifted after she heard that.

“Do we need to kill them?” She asked him with a meek voice, not wanting to argue but still raising her opinion.

“Then you will take care of them? I will deal with ‘naughty’ boys for the girls, but what about the girls? Will you babysit them?” He pointed out the issue, widening her eyes as she looked at her hands…

‘Could I take care of them?’

She quickly shook her head, removing such thoughts. The girl already accepted the fact that she was following Ren; there was no way she could survive without him.

“No, forget about it. I will follow your lead!” she clarified to him before hardening her gaze. The girl decided to follow him and only him.
