Pokemon Si c25

Magmar’s mouth opened as a torrent of flames rushed towards the waiting Dragonair.

The Dragon Pokémon leisurely waited for the flames. The moment they were close, the blue serpentine Pokémon slapped the Flamethrower aside, its tail surrounded by water.

It was Aqua Tail. The next moment, the Dragon type opened its mouth and released a powerful Hydro Pump that blasted Magmar into the arena wall.

“Magmar is unable to fight! Dragonair is the winner!

This match goes to Ray from Pallet Town, he is moving up to the Top 12!”

The referee announced the fight results.

“Damn, what is that Pokemon?” Ash frowned, baffled by its power. The Pallet Native pulled out his Pokedex and checked this Dragon type.

[Dragonair, the Dragon Pokémon. A Legendary Pokémon that can freely make it rain or snow. It's said to be able to fly, even though it doesn't have wings.]

The Pokedex's mechanical voice explained to the trainer.

“A legendary, no way!”

“Not quite, the exact term is Pseudo-Legendary. Pokémon call Dratini, its previous form, the Mirage Pokémon, because of how rare it is. The subsequent forms can be technically called Legendary because of how rare this Pokémon can be.” Brock explained to the novice trainer.

Now that he said that, Ash noticed all the people with cameras…

They all want pictures of this Pokémon.

“How did he get this rare Pokémon?” The trainer asked the pair of gym leaders.

“Who knows? But considering that he is a Junior Professor, he did his studies on how to find one.” The Pewter City gym leader replied to Ash.

“Who cares about that! Just look how amazing it is!” Misty clapped her hands in excitement as she had stars in her eyes.

“I want one!”

“It’s not a Water type,” Ash said. He knew it was a Dragon type—it was in its name!

“And!? It can use water-type moves!” She reasoned.

“Whatever…” the trainer pulled back, seeing her angry look.

After the fight was over, the trio walked to where Ray was taking a break. They had a nice resting area, with food, drinks and where to sit and wait for the next fight.

“Ray! That was a great match! I didn’t know you had a Dragonair!” Misty rushed over to the Junior Professor, who was eating a sandwich.

After chewing and swallowing his food, he replied to her.

“I raised him from an egg, so that’s that.”

“Now that makes more sense. Raising from an egg has a higher chance of success than finding a wild one.” Brock nodded, a bit relieved; it seemed more believable.

“True, as Junior Professor, I haven’t seen one in the database or encountered one in the wilds.” As Ray said, he saw Ash and Pikachu taking some food from the buffet table.

Those two… they are not even participating in this tournament.

“So what is this tournament?” Brock asked as he was curious, especially about the prizes.

“One-on-one fatigue style," He said while he looked at the brackets. After this round, it will be the top six… and then only three will remain.

That means the finals could be a triple-threat like battle.

But since it’s fatigue-based, he is expecting competitors to start dropping like flies.

“Oh… haven’t seen one in action.” The rock type trainer said to the Junior Professor.

“Well, you can see it in person. The one thing for sure is that after this round, you can expect some rapid development.” The Pallet Native explained that as soon as the next round started, the first ones were the girl with her Absol and a trainer with a Pidgeotto.

“Oh! A Pidgeotto!” Ash walked over with two sandwiches.

“Right…” Ray rolled his eyes seeing him stuffing like that.

The group watched the match, and the Junior Professor quickly noticed that the trainer had no idea about the Disaster Pokémon.

“What is that Pokémon?” Ray’s neighbour looked curious as he pointed his Pokedex at that Pokémon.

[No Data Available]

“What? Did something happen?” Ash inspected his Pokedex.

“That’s Absol, a Dark-type Pokémon first registered in Hoenn. Their offensive capabilities are exceptional, as Pidgeotto will soon find out.”

As the bird went for a wing attack, Absol called forth the wind before releasing a powerful blast towards the incoming Bird Pokémon.

It was a single attack K.O as that Razor Wind took it out.

“Whoa! What was that!?”

“Razor Wind. I am impressed she learned a way to shorten the time for that attack needed to charge.” Ray looked surprised.

“Never heard of this move.” Brock pulled out a book and began to go through the pages.

“It’s Absol’s signature move. Though flying types can pick it up.” The Pallet Native explained that the next fight would start soon.

There were some prolonged fights that led to the two combatants tiring out.

Even if the trainer won, he raised his hand and forfeited the tournament.

“Why does he do that!?” The novice trainer from Pallet asked.

“Because he would need to face that fresh Absol while his Pokémon was tired,” Ray explained with crossed arms.

“So that's what you meant by fatigue.” Brock finally realised.

After this, another battle happened. It involved a Graveller and a Rhydon, a pair of Rock and Ground types.

‘Without Earthquake and other ground-type moves, they are limiting their combat potential.’

The Junior Professor is wondering why they even bother using such Pokémon on a cruise ship.

Regardless, Rhydon won using fighting-type moves, while Graveller tried to Rollout his way to victory.

Sadly for Graveller, Rhydon is not Rhyhorn; those two are different beasts.

‘There is a reason why Rhyhorn evolves at level 42.’

After that fight next one was a prolonged fight as well. Ending as a double knockout.

“It’s not even finals yet, they're going this strong!”

“Well, the price is a Master Ball.” Ray chipped in, making the trio look at him.

“Master Ball?” Ash perked up, hearing ‘Master’ in its name!

“A ball that never fails to capture a Pokémon. While a powerful device, it doesn’t mean the Pokémon you will capture will listen to you.” The Junior Professor shrugged.

“Honestly, just knock out the Pokémon and use a regular ball, you can capture pretty much everything. A knocked Pokémon can’t break out if it is unconscious.”

“Oh, but still, does it mean it works on everything?” The Pallet Native asked his neighbour.

“Technically yes, not that it was tested properly on ALL Pokemon.” Ray replied as he watched the brackets. It turns out the next match is his.

“Anyway, I am next.”

The Junior Professor got up from his seat and walked to the arena. On the other end was a teenager in a tracksuit.

“Last fight of top 12, Ray from Pallet Town against Jack from Cerulean City!” The referee announced.

“Begin the Match!”

The pair threw their pokeballs, and on Ray’s side was his Dragonair and on the other side was a Scyther.

The Pallet Native smiled. He likes Scyther, one of the coolest bug types. There are not many of those around! The other bug types he likes are Vikavolt and Volcarona, with bug typing being their primary type, unlike Skorupi, which loses bug typing after evolution.

“Scyther uses agility and then attacks with Slash!”

“Dragon Rush, Dragonair.”

The Bug/Flying type rushed at the Dragon type with increased speed. Ray’s Dragonair used its tail to kick off before engulfing itself in blue and green flames.

The collision caused the Scyther to fly back, and the blue serpentine dragon slammed horn first into the Mantis Pokemon.

The Bug/Flying type collapsed on one knee as it was breathing heavily after the exchange.

“Hydro Pump,” Ray ordered to finish the Pokémon off.

Dragonair opened its own and released a huge torrent of water that slammed into the tired Scyther, knocking it out.

The referee looked at the downed Pokémon before raising a flag.

“Scyther is knocked out, victory goes to Ray’s Dragonair!”

With a nod, the Junior Professor called back his Pokémon and walked out of the arena.

“That was great, Ray! Your water-type moves are strong!” Misty gushed at the sight of Dragonair dominating the fight.

“I've been training my water types a lot recently,” Ray replied as he looked back at the big screen.

Instead, six trainers only four are left.

“Here is the Semifinals top 4, the next match starts in ten minutes.”

Four pictures appeared on the screen. The Pallet Native looked at his opponent. It would seem he will face Absol in the finals, just as he predicted.

Ten minutes later, the tournament continued, and like before, the Disaster Pokémon won. However, it would seem people started to understand Absol’s moveset and the way it moves.

Regardless, Astrid still won and moved to the finals.

“Don’t lose!” The blonde girl said to Ray as she walked over after winning her semi-finals.

“...Right.” The Junior Professor rolled his eyes as he was watching all of his opponents and preparing; this is no different.

As he got into the arena, the match started and before him was Rhydon.

“Dragonair, use Hydro Pump!”

“Protect Rhydon!” The Drill Pokémon crossed his arms, and a green shield surrounded him, and the water attack was blocked.

“Fair enough, Dragon Dance, then.” Ray shrugged. Since they have distance, why not increase his stats?

“We can’t let it grow stronger! Rhydon Drill Run!”

The Ground/Rock type began to run towards Ray, who smirked for a second.

“Aqua Tail.”

Like a whip, the Dragon Pokemon’s tail rushed at Rhydon, slapping him right in the face. The force of the blow made it skid away several metres.

“And now finish it off with Hydro Pump.”

Even stronger Hydro Pump slammed into the Drill Pokémon, knocking it out on the spot.

“No way…” The trainer looked stupefied.

“And the winner is Ray from Pallet Town and his Dragonair! With this, the semi-finals are over and the finals will start in ten minutes.”

Ray nodded as he recalled his Pokémon and walked back to his sitting area.

“Damn, another ten minutes, they are not giving one time to rest at all,” Misty complained as she looked at the officials.

“It’s the style of tournament,” Brock replied as he was checking possible tournaments and their prizes.

“Oh… a grooming set, even a collection of food supplements for the entire year. That’s some good and interesting prizes.” The Pewter Native read out loud.

“Show me.” Ash grabbed the pamphlet and checked the schedules.

“We need to participate, guys! You too, Ray!” The Pallet Native looked at his Neighbour.

“...Yeah… let me win this first.” Ray smiled, his smile a bit forced.

“Win? I will win this!” The girl walked over to him with one hand on her waist.

“You wish.” The Junior Professor smirked at her as he turned to face the blonde.

“Hmph! We shall see.” With that said, she turned around and walked away.

~~~
A bit later, the pair were in the arena at their positions.
“Finals begin!” The referee raised his flags, and in the next second, the trainers threw their pokeballs.
“Absol!”
“Let’s go, Dragonair!”
The two Pokémon manifested on the field.
“Dark Pulse, Absol!”
“Hydro Pump!”
The two blasts collided, but the water attack easily overpowered the Dark-type move.
“Dodge and use Sword Dance.” The Disaster Pokémon jumped aside before moving in a dance-like manner, and the Disaster Pokémon’s horn glowed.
“Since she is allowing us, use Dragon Dance!” Ray used this opportunity to increase his stats as well.
“Tsk! Razor Wind!”
The Junior Professor smirked, seeing her getting worked up.
“Thunder Wave.”
The Serpentine Pokémon created an arc of lightning and sent it towards the charging dark-type Pokémon.
“Absol No!” The girl exclaimed in worry as the Pokémon’s charge got interrupted.
“Now Dragonbreath!” Dragonair opened its mouth and released blue and green flames at Absol.
“Counter with Dark Pulse!”
The Disaster Pokémon was able to counter in time, surprising Ray for a second. Turns out this Pokémon was not a pushover.
“Not bad! You are keeping up!” Ray grinned as he started to enjoy this!
“Dragonair, let’s show her some of our combo moves! Use Surf!”
The dragon slammed his tail into the ground, and water manifested around the Serpentine dragon. The Pokémon began to ride it towards the Disaster Pokemon.
Astrid looked at the incoming dragon type.
“Absol Razor Wind! Cut the incoming attack!”
But this is where Ray grinned.
“Gotcha! Dragonair switch to Aqua Tail!”
The Dragon coed louder as it glowed blue, taking all the extra water and swirling around its tail before slamming down on the shocked Absol.
“Dodge Absol!” Astrid panicked as she saw a massive tail made from water descend on her Pokémon.
The Disaster Pokémon looked nervous as he tried to move, but at that moment, his status ailments flared. The dark type lowered his guard for a second, which was all that was needed to paralyse the dark type Pokémon.
“No!”
The water torrent slammed into the Absol, causing a huge splash in all directions.
Referee needed to cover himself from the short but very intense rain.
But once it was over, he looked at the aftermath.
“Absol unable to continue fighting! The winner of this Fatigue style tournament is Ray from Pallet Town!” The referee raised a flag in Ray’s direction.
“Yes!”
The Junior Professor clenched his fist as he exclaimed in happiness.
That moment, Dragonair coed as the dragon type rose into the air and white colour consumed the whole Pokémon.
“It’s evolving!” One of the spectators exclaimed in awe. Everyone began to take pictures as Ray grinned silly.
That last move was exactly what he needed to push his Pokemon over the edge. Dragonair could no longer contain it, and it evolved into its final form!
The Dragonair’s serpentine body began to change. Two arms and legs appeared on its back, and a pair of wings appeared on its front.
“Drago–nite!” The newly evolved Dragon/Flying type revealed itself.
The spectators roared as they saw a Pokémon that only the current Champion has! Everyone began to get nuts as they started to take pictures left and right.
But not everyone was taking pictures, like Ash, who pulled out his Pokedex and checked this Pokémon.
[Dragonite, the Dragon Pokémon. This extremely rare and highly intelligent Dragon is able to fly faster than any known Pokémon.]
“...Wow…that fast?”
“There are a bunch of tales about them helping people and sailors at sea. They are so fast that people can’t even see who is helping them.” Brock said with a pondering voice.
“Damn…”
As the pair were talking, Dragonite landed on the ground and looked at Ray, giving him a thumbs-up.
“This is great, Dragonite. We need to test you out.” The Junior Professor pondered as he looked around. A bunch of people were coming over…
“Maybe later… rest for now.” Ray grimaced as he recalled his Pseudo-Legendary.
The crowd immediately got sad.
“Now-Now everyone make some space.” The referees walked over, making the trainers and spectators look at them.
They made some space as the leader referee walked over and opened a small box, revealing a purple pokeball with an M letter on the top.
“Your prize, Ray.”
The Pallet native nodded as he took the ball.
“Beautiful.” He inspected it for a second before commenting.
“Use it wisely; it's a very powerful item.” The referee reminded him that this thing could capture anything…
“I know.”
“Good.” The referee nodded before looking around.” Everyone, the next tournament starts in three hours.”
Ash scrambled when he heard that. He rushed to sign up.
Ray smirked as he began to walk away. He had got what he wanted, and with a pseudo-legendary on his side, his power had just reached a new plateau.
“Ray, you won’t participate?” Misty asked as she saw him walk away.
“Maybe later, I need to return to my research, and getting my Dragonair evolve accelerated some of my training.” He waived while walking away. As he left the arena, he met the blonde finalist he had just beaten a couple of moments ago.
“Hmm?”
“I want a rematch at some point,” Astrid said with one hand on her waist.
“Anytime.” He smiled at her, making her flustered for a second.
“Then I will message you at some point.” She flicked her hair before walking away.
“...Message me?” For a second, he wondered how she would do it, but then he remembered that she could DM him via the Pokemon League Forums.
“...Right.”
He shook his head before walking to his cabin.
~~~~~~A Bit Later~~~~~~

“Hmm?” A sailor was doing his routine checks when he stumbled on something.

Two individuals and a Meowth were knocked out, dressed in white uniforms with a big red R on their chest!

“Those…” He quickly walked over and saw a note on the ground.

He picked it up and read the content.

The sailor swiftly scrambled to find his boss after reading it.

~~~~~~Meanwhile~~~~~~
“That boy doesn’t stay put, does he?” Professor Oak shook his head as he watched the news. It was about S.S. Anne.
There is a whole segment about the Junior Professor. Not only did he stop an attack from Team Rocket, but he also won a tournament, and his Dragonair evolved and became Dragonite.
So far, the Pokémon League has recorded only three trainers who have this Pokemon. There are no doubt more trainers, but they don’t like publicity, and not everyone declares what Pokemon they have.
That means this is quite a big deal.
‘Now that Ray has a Dragonite, I have no doubt he will reach the finals of the League. There are not that many Pokémon that can keep up with Pseudo Legendary power.’
The Professor smiled as he wondered what the future holds for Ray.
“Hmm?”  He saw an email appear in his inbox.
“Lance? He can’t stay still, can he?” The old man shook his head.
The Professor read the letter. It was about Ray, as he wanted to know how he had done it.
“I don’t know either…” All he knows is that Chansey is involved. But apart from that? He got all of his water types. But that's most likely because of the place he was in.
“I do need to message Ray. I want to see that Dragonite in person. It has been years since I saw someone else’s Dragonite.” The old man smirked as he got excited to see the newly evolved Pokemon!
~~~~~~Next Day~~~~~~

As the cruise ship stopped in the Sevii islands, Ray was getting off the cruise liner.

He could see Police officers and even Officer Jenny with an Arcanine.

The trainer stopped for a second as he looked at the cool Fire-type before him!

‘Damn… they are this big? That’s crazy!’ Junior Professor shook his head as he was about to walk away.

“Professor Ray, a moment of your time.” The captain and Officer Jenny walked over to him.

“Yes?”

“Many thanks for discovering the plot to steal Pokémon from the passengers. Thanks to your quick thinking, it was stopped completely.”

“I am curious how you did it?” The blue-haired officer asked him.

“Haunter.” The Junior Professor smiled while saying that.

“...Haunter?” She looked even more confused.

“Yes, I used my Ghost type to watch a pair of suspicious people who were giving away free tickets to everyone. It felt like a scam, so I let my Haunter watch them before reporting them to me.

Once I heard that it was Team Rocket, I made Haunter use Confuse Ray and Hypnosis to put them to sleep,” Ray explained to them.

“I see that is fast thinking.” The woman nodded in approval.

“A suggestion, Officer.” All of a sudden, he got an idea.

“Yes?”

“Your Police force should get ghost or psychic types for swift arrests without much collateral damage, " the Pallet Native suggested to her.

“That is a good suggestion, sadly, those types of Pokémon are quite rare.” The woman’s smile was a strained one.

“I see. Well, I did my part. Now, if you excuse me, I will be exploring Sevii Islands before returning to Kanto.” Ray waved as he began to walk towards the city.

“Professor Ray, before you go, take this.” The captain of the ship handed out a ticket.

Ray stopped walking and turned around, and looked at what the captain was holding.

“I spoke with the office, and they decided to give you a ticket for life. This means you can sail with any of our ships for life. It would be an honour to have you aboard our ships.”

The Pallet Native looked at the ticket. It was different from the others. It had a VIP symbol on it with his name.

“I will keep your ship company in mind when I go to other regions, Captain. You have my thanks.” The Junior Professor pocketed the new ticket in his inner pocket before nodding and continuing to walk towards the city.

“Good luck with your journey!” The Captain smiled as he felt that Ray’s intervention stopped something major from happening.

~~~
Ray checked the map. There is an array of islands that people don’t visit and are encouraged to stay away from.
That is why he will visit them first! He checked online and learned that even boats are not going there.
Which is fine for him; that is why he is keeping his team the same.
His Hunter can use his Mean Look on wild Pokémon, meaning they can’t run away. He then has Milotic and Gyarados for water battles, Chansey for healing, and his trump card, Dragonite.
His roster is loaded and ready for action.
As he walked to the Pokémon Centre, it was a mid-sized place with barely any people.
“Hm? Oh! Ray! It’s good to see you!” Nurse Joy clapped her hands as she saw him.
“Nurse Joy, good morning. I am here for a room for a week and have an egg for safekeeping.” Ray went right to business as he pulled out his Pokedex and handed over the egg.
It’s common practice to give Pokémon eggs to Nurse Joy when visiting the Pokémon Centre. Not to mention, he can’t have it with him at this moment as he is planning to swim with his Pokémon.
“Sure, Chansey.” The pinkette summoned her assistant as she booked a room for him.
“You want Professor Suite?”
“Sure.” Ray nodded as he handed his egg over to the nurse.
“And all set.” She handed over the keys and his Pokedex.
“Do your Pokémon need a check-up?” She asked with a smile.
“No, I had them checked on the cruise.” Ray shook his head before walking up the stairs.
“I will see you later, Nurse Joy.”
The nurse pouted as she wanted to check that Dragonite!
Once in his large suite, the trainer placed his backpack on the bed before taking out all the gear.
He already did his research on his islands and what he will be checking out.
An island with a volcano, an island that is unnaturally cold where ice Pokémon dwell, and rumours about strange islands that appear and disappear.
All that stuff is interesting to say the least.
Once he got his stuff, he began to change into his diving gear.
The body tight suit is a bit annoying, but it will allow him to dive deeper and at the same time take colder water.
It's not that it’s cold here, but that's beside the point. Once he finished dressing up, he reorganised his backpack and removed the most expensive stuff.
He left with only essential items and food, as he would be gone most of the day.
After gathering all he needed, the Junior Professor left the room and the Pokémon Centre.
Once outside, he pulled out his Pokenav and looked at the directions.
“Hmm… so it’s just a bit north.” He looked around, finding a smoking mountain in the distance.
He began to walk towards that direction.
The islands on the map don’t look that big… but in reality!?
They are around 30 to 50 square Kilometres!
‘That mountain is either fake or it’s on the island…’ Ray pulled out his Pokenav and checked the area in closer detail.
‘Oh, it is an island a short distance away from here; it's not that far.’ He pondered this before continuing to walk.
A bit later, after leaving the city’s perimeter, he noticed wild Pokémon; sadly, none of them were rare or noteworthy to him.
Spearows in the trees and the grass, he can see occasional Meowth and Ponyta.
This continued for a while, and by the time he was a considerable distance away from the city, Ray decided to take a break.
That was until he spotted something.
“Hmm?”
His gaze went up as his eyes widened to a massive degree.
Something from the sky rushing down it was…
“A meteorite?”
As he looked at it, he was a bit excited. Space in Pokémon was not the same as in his previous world.
But then, the meteorite changed its angle of falling; it did it midway!
“Holy shit!”
Ray got up from his seat and scrambled to collect his stuff as he needed to run away!
“Crap! Crap! Crap!”
He began to run as quickly as he could, as a falling rock was chasing him.
Before he knew it, the thing slammed into the ground.
The Junior Professor ended up flying some distance away before he rolled on the ground and became dusty from the debris.
When he reoriented, he got up and looked at himself. He wasn’t hurt, just dirty, but what got his attention was the crater. It wasn’t that big, but it was there.
As he walked closer, he found a purple rock in the middle of it.
Ray’s eyes ended up on it, and that moment he began to see things, it was visions…
He saw space, strange beings flying in space, they were green and blue, they could change shapes…
“...Deoxys…” At that moment, his eyes refocused. He knew what this was!
“Shit! If you landed here, then we don’t have time to waste!” Ray knows what kind of issue Deoxys' presence could cause! A certain Sky High Pokémon gets snappy when its territory is breached!
The Junior Professor didn’t waste time. He pulled out a regular pokeball and threw it at the purple stone. Upon contact, the DNA Pokemon was sucked in. There was no resistance, as the Pokémon was in a very weak state.
The Pallet Native is certain that Rayquaza often ends these Pokémon when they land in a state like this.
‘Now that I think about it, that’s probably how Rayquaza can mega evolve on its own. It eats Deoxys cores for snacks!’
Obviously, it’s just theory, but it does have some basis. After all, it eats Meteorites, and Deoxys's core looks like a Meteorite.
Not that Ray waited as he quickly scrambled to collect the ball, then rushed towards the small forest.
He rushed there before getting into position for filming.
Around five minutes later, a large green serpentine Pokémon floated down and looked at the crater.
‘Holy shit!’
Ray’s heart began to beat faster as he saw IT! It was Rayquaza! His favourite Legendary! He can still remembers playing the shit out of Pokemon Emerald!
His top Pokémon used to be Blaziken and Rayquaza!
And now, right before him, around 30 metres away, was the Sky High Pokémon in all of its majesty.
After looking at the crater for a bit, the Pokémon flew up and away at absurd speed.
A sharp air escaped from Ray’s mouth as he continued to breathe. He didn’t even notice how he was holding his breath!
“Damn! It was crazy! To think that the first thing I see in this place is Deoxys and Rayquaza! Damn, Sevii Islands, you are something else!” Ray rolled on his back, his forehead full of sweat. He couldn’t believe how crazy this was.
After a couple of seconds, he got into a sitting position before getting on his feet.
He swiftly walked to his small camping area, and there was still some stuff there, as he hadn’t collected all of it.
Regardless, he ignored all that stuff as he needed to sit down and process what he experienced.
A couple of minutes later, he pulled out his camera and began to check the footage.
“...Damn…” He can’t believe that he recorded this beast. For him, it was like experiencing a UFO encounter, the magnitude he was feeling towards this experience.
That’s how much in awe he was. Forget Zapdos, this is a Beast that can tame literal Ocean and Continent creators!
The sheer difference in power is simply absurd!
