Raynor checked his hand. He already had a decent idea of what kind of deck the Dragon Lord had.

The whole strategy is to spam powerful Monsters with the help of the Field Spell.

To fight this, Raynor needs to make Dragon Lord summon himself to the field. To do that, he needs to destroy the field spell.

Once that card is gone, Lord of D will use himself to summon more dragons to the field, unless there is a second tactic… but this is not Yugi or Kaiba, who have three to four sub-strategies when one fails… and somehow they have it in their forty-card decks…

Anyway…

“My turn.” The Slifer red duelist looked at his new card.

A small grin appeared on his lips.

‘Bingo! Time to troll a little.’ 

“I use my spell card De-Spell.” A green card appeared before Raynor.

“This little spell card allows me to destroy one of your face-up spell cards.” 

“You mean…”

GLASS SHATTER

The entire reality shifted, and the pair were once again on the roof of the tower.

“I destroyed your field spell card.” Raynor smiled while saying that.

“Next, I place one face down and set a monster in defence position, and end my turn.”

“Hah, all you can do is cover before me! Even if you destroyed my field spell, it doesn’t mean much.” 

“My turn!” 

Lord of Dragons draw his card.

“Well, well, I activate my spell card, Pot of Greed!” 

The Dragon guy drew two more cards, and a small smile appeared on his lips.

“I summon Luster Dragon in Defence position and then set one card face down, and end my turn.”

Raynor frowned for a second as he drew another card.

“In that case. I flip summon my monster!” 

The Slifer Duelist revealed his monster, which was a brown bug…

It was a Man-Eating Bug…

“My monster special effect activates! I can destroy one monster on the field!” Raynor grinned while saying that.

“...”

“And I choose your Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon!”

SHATTER

The monster with 4500 attack power just went puff like it was easy pickings!

“Next, I summon my Magician’s Valkyrie in attack position!” With a casual motion, he placed his Valkyrie in the monster field.

His spellcaster appeared next to his Red Eyes.

“Now, Red-Eyes Black Dragon attack Luster Dragon!” 

The black dragon opened his mouth and released a blast of black flames, destroying the blue dragon.

“Now Man-Eater Bug attack him directly!” Raynor motioned for his ugly bug with 450 attack points to attack the Lord of Dragons…

Lord of D didn’t even bother to express any discomfort when a large bug tried to bite him.

The Ruler of Dragon kin simply smacked the creature away.

“Now, Valkyrie attack him directly!” 

Before the Lord of D can recover, the Magician’s Valkyrie attack him.

“Enough of these games, I activate my trap card! Emergency of Dragon Lord!

This card allows me to summon a level four or lower dragon from my graveyard to intercept the attack!

Now come! My Luster Dragon!”

The blue dragon returned and tanked the attack, causing Raynor’s Valkyrie to shatter as she attacked a stronger beast.

“...crap…” shards of glass slammed into Raynor as he lost 300 points.

‘So it was a legit trap. He has impressed me.’

“I set a card and end my turn.” 

“Time for me to stop playing around.”

The ruler of dragons lifted his hand, and with a burst of light, a card appeared in his hand.

‘He can do that too… good to know…’

“I summon myself, in attack position.”

With a burst of light, the dragon lord disappeared and appeared in the field.

“Since I was successfully summoned, one of my two abilities activates. I can search my deck for the Flute of Summoning Dragon.” One card was singled out in his deck, and the Lord of D took it into his hand before sliding into the magic/trap field.

The yellow dragon-shaped flute floated into the hands of the Lord of Dragons.

The Dragon Armoured spirit began to play, and two monsters magically appeared in the field.

One was Red-Eyes Black Dragon and the other was Hyozanryu… 

“Now it’s time for me to show my true form, human tremble before my true might!” All of a sudden, a card appeared in Dragon Lord’s hand.

‘Just how many of them can he summon!? This guy is a freaking cheater!’ Raynor complained with a frown.

“I activate polymerisation! I fuse myself with Divine Dragon Ragnarok!”

The Lord of Dragons rose into the air as the Eastern Dragon manifested; the pair merged, becoming a human and dragon hybrid. The upper body was that of the Lord of Dragons, and the lower half was that of the Eastern Serpent.

“Behold, this is my true Form! KING DRAGUN! Once I am successfully summoned, I can special summon a dragon from my hand every turn!”

As he said that with a hand motion, a dragon appeared in the last slot…

It was another… high-level dragon…  Seiyaryu… 

In a single turn, this guy filled up the entire monster field with Dragons…

‘Holy fuck…’

Raynor was a bit worried, but there was a grin on his lips.

“Now attack! Seiyaryu destroy that Red-Eyes Black Dragon!”

“Gotcha!”

The Slifer Red student exclaimed as he showed his trap card.

“I was waiting for you to lose your cool and summon yourself, and then attack! Check this out! I activate Mirror Force!”

“NOOOOOO!!!”

One by one, Luster Dragon, Black-Eyes Red Dragon, King Dragun, Hyozanryu and Seiyaryu blew up, and that moment at the centre of all of it, Raynor witnessed white light consume everything… it was like he was in the centre of a nuke.

GASP

Raynor opened his eyes. It was dark, and he realised that he had woken up in his dormitory…in the middle of the night.

At that moment, his hand went to his mouth as he felt disoriented.

Everything was spinning for him.

‘What the hell…’

The last thing he remembered was yellow draconic eyes looking at him.

It was wild!

He tried to calm down, but it was hard to do when he felt as though he was floating, yet he was in his bed… it was wild!

“Relax, rest for now, you did something great!” Raynor felt hands wrap around him. It was his Valkyrie.

“Great idea… I totally accept it.” He lay again and hugged his spellcaster, “Let’s sleep.”

“Yes.” 

The brown haired valkyrie ended up cuddling him from his side.

The moment he closed his eyes, he passed out. This was simply because the amount of energy his soul needs to absorb is astronomical.

As the morning arrived, his alarm clock began to blare.

Raynor’s eyes snapped open, and a crushing spiritual force descended in his whole room.

But then stopped as the Slifer realised that it was his alarm clock.

“Let me blow it up! You can continue to sleep.” Valkyrie got up and summoned her staff.

“No. I need to wake up. That clock is there for a reason.” He said to her as he began to move from his bunk bed.

He nearly dropped on his ass as it was disorientating, but he focused and slowly got down.

“Oh…crap this is weird…” The duelist stopped in his tracks as he tried to concentrate.

Valkyrie floated down and landed on the ground. 

“Do you need my help?” She asked nicely.

“No, anyway… I blew them all up after he destroyed you.” He told her what he did in the duel against the dragon lord.

The girl smiled at him before hugging him again.

“I know. Me getting destroyed in a duel doesn’t mean that much. It's outside the duel…” She softly said to him.

“I don’t care, I need to pay him back, and it's your traps that made it possible.” He smiled, telling her that her Mirror Force was what made it happen

“Hehehe, then all I ask is more cuddles~” She snuggled into him once more.

“Of course.” He hugged her for a bit before getting out of her hands and walking to the bathroom. He needs a shower…

“Do you want me to join you?” She asked him with a smirk.

“Maybe when my world is not spinning like crazy.” He replied, making her blush.

‘H-He replied so casually!’ The Spellcaster realised that things can spiral out of control very easily with him! 

“O-Okay…”

Valkyrie swiftly flew to his bed and lay down. She realised that her Duelist found her acceptable! Turns out her cuddles and hugs work!

After his shower, Raynor walked out. He looked a bit better. 

Then he began to dress up in a fresh set of clothes and a red jacket.

Then… he noticed that on the table there was an extra pile of cards next to his deck.

He focused a bit and began to check them.

On the very top was Lord of D, or more specifically, written as Lord of Dragons. Attack and Defence were the usual numbers of 1200 and 1100, but the artwork and special effects were different.

The art was that of the lord sitting on his throne in the familiar tower.

The extra skill he has is the ability to pull the flute of dragon summoning from anywhere in the deck.

The other skill is the usual protection from spells and traps to all dragons; this only works at the personal level, not field-wide. This is why Raynor won against him with Mirror Force, as it’s a wide trap card.

After Lord of Dragons, it was the field spell…

‘Holy… I got it…’

Raynor looked at the absurd field spell of Lord of Dragons, then it was Divine Dragon Ragnarok, a level four monster used for fusion with Lord of D.

Then his eyes widened as he saw a list of Blue-Eyes cards…

‘2…4…6…9… 12…13 Blue-Eyes Cards…’ 

It was quite a list!

Not just blue eyes, another Pot of Greed, Saiyaryu, Hyozanryu, another two Red-Eyes Black Dragons, alongside support… like chicks and Juveniles…

‘Seriously…I can make a full deck with this…’

But there was only one trap card, and a unique spell card related to Lord of Dragons.

Dragon Lord Emergency is a trap card that resurrects a level four or lower dragon to tank a direct attack.

The other is a unique spell card, Dragon Lord’s Order, which is quite overpowered as it allows for dragons to attack again.

‘If not for my Valkyrie’s help… I would be stuck in that valley for eternity.’ He sighed, his breathing trembled as goose bumps washed over him. It was the realisation that he could have experienced something worse than death.

“Come here, my Valkyrie! I want to hug you!” Raynor, all of a sudden, had an urge to cuddle his magical girl!

“O-Okay…sheesh, there is no need for such excitement…” The brown haired spellcaster looked embarrassed when Raynor was the one who was showering her with affection.

“There is! Now come!” He pulled her over… magically, for a second he wondered how… not that he cared, as the next moment she was on his lap and he was hugging her tightly.

He needs to… process that close call… the best way is with his lovely Valkyrie.

After a while, there was knocking on the door.

“Hey, Ray! Let’s duel!” 

Excited, Jaden’s voice reached Raynor and his Valkyrie.

“Sigh… no rest…” He got up, and his Valkyrie followed, with a burst of light causing her clothes to shift into her combat attire.

Slifer red walked over and opened the doors. He saw grinning Jaden.

“Do we even have time to fight? What about class?” He asked him the moment he saw him.

“Hehehe, forgot about that. I could barely sleep as I wanted to duel you!”

The guy laughed, but then he looked at him closely.

“...Umm…did something happen?” He noticed something was off about him. 

He looked tired. But sharper? There was a strange aura around him.

“Had a death match with a Supreme Ruler of Dragon in the Spirit Realm.” The Slifer casually commented as he sighed, sounding tired.

“...You know… if not for the fact that there is a duel spirit behind you… I wouldn’t believe you…” Jaden wasn’t one to doubt, but… what he is hearing is a bit wild.

“Hah… I know… but check this…” With a hand motion, a card appeared between his fingers.

He showed him what was in the card.

“B-Blue-Eyes White Dragon!” Jaden gawked when he saw a legendary card!
