Dark Science Act 3 Character Sheet
Added 2015-02-18 02:31:45 +0000 UTCThought you guys might like this- at the start of each chapter, I put together a basic style guide and reference sheet for the main characters. It's also a time when I get to tweak and update my overall style. The general rule I like to adhere to is to be stylistically consistent within each act/chapter of Dark Science, but allow myself some room for growth and development at the start of a new one. This is pretty much what you see in a lot of graphic novel series and the like, that is to say that Kim on page 1 of Dark Science isn't going to look identical to Kim on page 41, because art is dynamic!

I've loved the costume and character design from the start of Dark Science, and I love it still - though I'm pretty sure I don't envy you rendering Vonnie's hair in motion with all the new texture. Most interesting to me right this second is how Kim's look has changed; the skirt still suggests youth, but the jacket (articulated shoulder pads!) and tie seem to be more about asserting power than were most of her old styles. Add to that the more athletic build, and in a lot of ways she's the most intimidating figure in the new lineup. As it should be, really. Very cool!
