Added 2021-06-16 16:37:20 +0000 UTCI wanted a third panel for this strip but I just couldn't manage it. That second panel was more work than I thought it'd be (thus why I'm uploading at noon instead of like 8am). Gotta say, these more involved story strips are more challenging to write and I hope I don't come off like a pompous, know-it-all bitch of a writer speaking through my characters or anything. I'm not pretentious. Really! At least I don't think?

I'm really glad y'all seem to be enjoying these narrative-heavy strips! I got it into my head sometime last year that my storytelling was going to cost me my audience (because it's kinda really shite) but y'all have been nothing but supportive and shown real interest in more which has fueled my motivation and given me that second wind I've needed for a long while! Thank you all so much!

Backstory takes some work. Let it flow at the pace it requires, don't try to force it.

2021-06-17 01:25:52 +0000 UTCCertainly some impressive work here with these two panels and I also guess this section has just answered my question on the last page; with regards what Evita could be seeing, all thanks to the Path of Regret slowly working its magic on her... Just how much of the world's darker side did Evita end up seeing though; during her long quest to both rescue Michael from his captors in the Association and also setting things up so that Xor's toxic influence could be successfully expelled, all while both their core family and allies had been unjustly labelled as monsters by the wider world, just for knowing the truth which was kept hidden by those in power? Not only was Evita's innocence completely destroyed, all because of her showing kindness to two strangers that she'd become closer to (with several secret services having targeted both Michael and Gunther to silence them because of the secret knowledge that the pair held, with Evita having been considered acceptable collateral damage to achieve this); but to gain the power she needed to help rescue Michael (after he was captured), she'd ended up almost destroying everything that they had worked for, thanks to Xor's corrupting influence slowly feeding her awoken darker nature. Will be extremely interesting to see if Evita might end up breaking from this mental attack though, or if it ends up backfiring on Rhodonite instead, because getting a refresher of all that she'd went ends up reminding Evita of the various lessons that she's learned and it reignites her fighting spirit!
