1208 - Inks

So I had an -exceptionally- difficult time inking this one. Partially because of all the little details on the gear and partially because I had such a hard time getting the line art refined. Panels 2 and 3 here will be combined into one singular panel like in the pencilwork for this strip, btw. It's just easier to colour them separately and then blend them together. I considered cutting out the last panel as well because I'm not sure Sixx would be at this particular level of excitement just yet.

Sorry this one took so long to get inked. I expected it to be troublesome, but not to the degree it turned out to be. I'll be changing their tack as soon as this segment is over.

And now for some more real talk stuffs. I made the choice back in summer to focus on quality over quantity, spending more time trying to polish and make better looking strips. The result has been far fewer updates. I'm wondering if I made the right choice. Should I return to a production-first mentality? Simpler, varying quality art in order to keep the narrative moving faster? Or do y'all prefer this method?
