Akashi, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan - feat. Repair Ship Akashi (Kantai Collection)
City of Akashi is a regional hub within the Hanshin costal metropolis (about 25 km west of Kobe). Aside from the very photo-friendly castle and its park, once a guardhouse against the feudal monarchs to the west, Akashi is known for Seaside Park (popular fishing venue), summer fireworks fest, and a unique flavor of takoyaki (lol).
Repair ship Akashi (10,500 displacement tons) paid homage to her namesake port in October 1940, thirteen months before Pearl Harbor.
