None of the girls can really afford assumptions with as deep as they’re planning, and any preconception about their opponents (especially considering who their opponents are, and the experiences with them in the past), is an excellent way to end up drowned. Still, it’s hard to imagine any of the divers having an outright speed advantage here, so everything should even out. Side note: keep up the internal commentary! It’s a fantastic way to illustrate what each diver is feeling or focusing on, even if the only thing on their mind is: “don’t breathe; keep up speed; where’s the dive-line; etc.”
