That's right, hundreds of years after the earth was flooded by the upheaval caused by the Great War, it's a dark time when land doesn't exist.

That this setting is set several hundreds of years after the collapse of the modern society. So now this village divers for valuable stuff to trade for food. But they have had to dive deeper for each generation. So now they did dive into a battle ship at 165 meters depth. The valuable stuff that they are high density allows from ammo shells of the old battle ship. So is my understanding correct regarding this setting then?
