Although still a novice diver, trying to catch up with her best friend and love crush has really put Riko on an "adrenaline" mode, now not breathing for well over two and a half minutes and beating just about every record set in her Oborozuka primary school district. Riko has already gone way past her "point of no return" and, if she makes it to the other side, she would hold the world's best "diving no fins" breathhold record. Well, little did Riko know that her companion was not human (a dragon) and most likely does not need to breathe at all.
