A true...blast from the past!! Let me say that I (Aster) spent a decent amount of time doing archaeological work on this content in 2000s because I was still too young for the first series (aired in early to mid 80's). Urusei, Maison Ikkoku, and Ranma 1/2 really framed my life as is. :-)

ちなみにASTERは前作のアニメはさすがに同世代ではないのですが、後にレンタルVHS(懐かしい)で見てドはまりしましたね~。うる星、めぞん、らんまには正直人生狂わされた。w

Rumiko Takahashi is a true legend. Her works do a marvelous job blending romantic comedy and drama along with introducing some of the more intriguing ensemble casts in anime and manga.

Urusei Yatsura had a great impact on the first generation intertnet weeb aquaphile community. I was there, 3000 years ago.

I also did some work trying to watch this show back in the early 2010s after I saw those amazing underwater scenes of the show. But luckily then most of the episodes where available on YouTube as a whole. And while this show never really got me into anime back then (as my personal taste was different). I still have good memories of it ^^
