Starting at Misakiguchi Station, a fifteen minute drive west through the narrow and winding roads through the orchards (typical of Miura Peninsula) takes you to a sudden opening out to the sea, i.e. Mitohama Beach. A few shacks and palm trees line the surf, but aside from that, it lacks the charm of a standard summer beach venue, and only the occasional surfers and barbequers flock the area. This quiet setting is the home to Alpha's fabled coffee shop and the tales of Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou. Cafe Alpha, a humble one-story cottage, is said to rest atop Horn of Kurosaki, a bulky land mass that bulges out north of the beach.
Well, maybe time to head back home now. The tide has begun to come back in along with signs of chilly evening air, and people around has started to pack up their gear. But nonetheless, the soft white sand touching the soles of the feet was still reminiscent of the warmth of the afternoon sun.
