Cobalt Plus: Sadako and Chihaya

"While Aya was initially surprised to see Hikari, the two were getting along quite well by the time they were on land, Hikari being especially cheerful since Aya was related to the person directly involved in helping her beloved sister recover. While neither Aya or Hikari were planning on going back out into the water immediately, they both struck up a conversation about freediving when Hikari asked what Aya liked to do. 'Wow, you and Chihaya have been in a shipwreck? That sounds fun! Me and Yoshika have been freediving around here, but we’ve never been in a sunken ship together.' Yoshika spoke up, 'Well, maybe when the office has a day off. I think I remember Mio pointing one out to me this past summer.' Not much later, Chihaya walked up and greeted the three with a smile. After saying goodbye to the new girls, Aya proceeded to towel off and change back into her street clothes before heading to Chihaya’s car – a refurbished white 2001 Buick LeSabre. As Aya made her way back to the car, she noticed another passenger in the back seat, her already palpable excitement at visiting Chihaya piquing further as she recognized the individual.  'Sadako’s going to say the night at my place as we work on an assignment, so I picked her up along with some ingredients for dinner,' Chihaya said as Aya entered the car. Sadako was one of Chihaya’s newer friends that Aya was already familiar with. A fellow State College of Florida student, Sadako had been Chihaya’s classmate a few different times over the year and a half Chihaya had been attending SCF, the two becoming friends over a shared enjoyment of cooking and becoming closer within the past few months after they ran into each other at the same gym near Chihaya’s apartment the past summer. During the Fall and Spring semesters, Sadako led an informal gathering of SCF students and friends that used the gym’s pool during the early evening on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and the weekends – a group both Aya and Chihaya participated in. The group was known to the employees and were regulars at the smoothie bar after their swim. Thinking back on her experience with this group, Aya smiled on the way to the apartment and looked forward to this evening."
