It is worth noting that Ogami Island in reality is the smallest but is considered the most divine of the five islets of Miyako archipelago. It is "governed" by its cohort of female priestesses, who bathe themselves in the Island'sacred well and perform clandestine divine rituals atop the island peak (even to this day).
