Continuing on with New Bonds feat, with Brave Witches characters and ChihAya:
Chihaya parked her Buick in a parking lot just shy of Siesta Beach. She and the other occupants – Aya and Takami Karibuchi, a former naval officer – already had their swimsuits under their clothes, which they carefully took off behind the Lesabre after walking out. All three of the girls were ready for some fun after Chihaya’s final exams for the semester, Aya and Takami having already eaten and a crumpled-up protein bar wrapper in the forward-most cup holder the remaining trace of what Chihaya had decided to snack on. The water was cold given the cold late Autumn temperature, but certainly not enough to dissuade the trio from having a lengthy swim – Aya and Chihaya had felt colder in their many freediving adventures together. The swimming was a happy moment for the three out in the beach’s beautiful blue-green waters as they relaxed with each other, smiling and occasionally breaking out into laughter. Takami had been a physical therapy patient Chihaya was handling and they had bonded talking about the loved ones in their life – Chihaya talking about Aya, Takami talking about her little sister Hikari. For both Chihaya and Takami, this swim was the culmination of Takami’s hard work and Chihaya’s skill and learning under Yoshika Miyafuji, the smiles both had even as they and Aya had grown tired before choosing to head back to shore being a shining reminder. As the three girls went to land and contemplated dinner, Aya’s thoughts began to stir again. Aya had never recalled seeing Chihaya as happy being with anybody other than her when she visited. The idea of Chihaya having other friendships was not what was odd or novel – indeed, Chihaya did mention her friends from her high school once in a while during conversations and everybody has their own lives apart from even those with whom they are closest. What made Aya think about things was how close Chihaya and Takami seemed – they were playfully hugging and close to one another while swimming out in the gulf waters. The emotion running through Aya’s thoughts was not jealousy, but rather an analytical sense of curiosity since this profound personal enthusiasm was something she had only seen Chihaya express towards her while she was around. This would be something she wanted to talk about a little more in-depth about, but she wanted to buy time. After all, there was still dinner to take care of at the moment...
