Simply because that she was saved by Chihaya before and she wouldn't simply just surface with seeing Eri helplessly at the bottom. Am feeling an CPR scene or carrying her to surface like Aya does for Chihaya ;) Saki does have a deep personality and life view due of loss her Papa But even she will want to eventually make new friends and enjoy underwater fun with the rest of girls.

2020-02-16 03:21:55 +0000 UTCI believe a diving matchup with static apnea elements (like the one between the cousins and their self-appointed co-trainer) that pits these two against each other would end in victory for Saki. Both girls are skilled, obviously, though like ChihAya, the Shrine Maiden is more naturally gifted. But when you take into account that Saki defeated Aya without much of a struggle in both depth and length of time, and the fact that Eri really only succeeded against the cousins because Chihaya passed out, and was close to blacking out herself, it’s clear there’s an even wider gap, too much for the navy veteran’s discipline to overcome, and that’s assuming Saki doesn’t use technique, which she most likely does. After all, as someone who is uncomfortable diving, the Shrine Maiden must have developed a methodology to overcome her discomfort, serving her even better when coupled with her talent. Eri, for all her strengths, just couldn’t compete.
