(Gulp)
Within the small cavity that was her haven locker, Saki was trying to restrain all her movements to evade her incoming predator. She was successful, save only for a mouthful of air that was let out by the involuntary convulsion of her diaphragm. Not good, but this was all too unavoidable after now almost ten minutes of breath hold, and Saki's demonstrated will power to keep air exhalation to minimum was nothing short of remarkable as a human. Is he going away? Is he? Saki thought, fighting to push down the surge of stale air trying to find way out of her trachea. At this great depth, and locked deep inside the hull of a sunken ship, even the world's best human divers would have lost her cool and rational thought and gone into an all-out bubble burst a long time ago.
But then, the big scaleless fish flipped its body and returned, starting to pound heavily on Saki's locker door with all the forces of its muscles. Apparently, the shark will take no mercy on its prey being a lung-breathing animal, with its swimming, breath-holding, and self control skills being astounding among its peers but still grossly inferior to its own.
