Patreon Status
Added 2025-03-21 19:28:18 +0000 UTCHello everyone! I hope all of you are doing well, and that you're looking forward for the coming content and rewards. The purpose of this post will be to work both as a status report of the project as well as a query to all patrons and potential patrons that could consider subscribing.
Firstly, I would like to say that the game is being constantly worked on, even at a faster, more consistent pace than it used to be for the past year. While I can't exactly disclose when the next update will come by (dates which are usually delayed by me realizing that there was something else I needed to add to the game that I didn't account for before...), I can give an estimate that we will have a new version out sometime in May or early June at the latest based on my current plans. Moreover, monthly rewards will not be affected and you can expect timely uploads here in the patreon page by April 2nd!
... that said, there is something I've been meaning to ask. Recently we had a change in the organization, with Sunflower being absent indeterminately (and possibly permanently now due to how demanding Sunflower's new workplace is), with me taking over the task of working on the illustrations and managing the art style, keeping the reward pool and subscription fees as-is.
Moreover, it's come to my attention that a handful have been canceling their subscriptions over the past couple weeks. I understand that maybe you'd like to pay for something else, or maybe the content isn't as alluring anymore... and that's what I'd like to ask here.
To you all, patrons and potential patrons alike:
Is there anything in particular that I could offer for you to be more interested in becoming patrons? Perhaps an extra reward, a change in artistic direction? Or maybe something else? If there are any comments, criticism or suggestions, please feel free to forward them to me, either by private message or by commenting on this post.
I would like to keep working on this project forever; not only on 12F, but also on other games once this one is complete (which I know it sounds like a long shot, but believe me when I say I'm determined to speed up and finish it as soon as I can), so do let me know if there is anything I can do to make subscribing more alluring to you.
Kind regards and good day to you all!

I actually joined for the Penny game, which seems to be permanently halted. While I like your other game, I have not played it (for various reasons). I was about to leave when you started the additional art and have remained. I would still like to see the Penny game be developed more as it was an interesting concept.

2025-03-21 20:43:49 +0000 UTCMy thoughts on the matter as someone who followed 12F since it's first inception on Omo.org: 1) I think have more public builds/releases may help to boost visibility. I think your post regarding a feature roadmap was a step in the right direction. Going open-source/too many cooks spoiling the soup is a valid concern for projects like these but I think having a small group of folks who like to bugfix or QA even small releases may be a big boon as more people can try it and spread via word of mouth but just my 2 cents on that. 2) I think with the sheer scale of artwork/cg and sprites, divide and conquer may be the approach just to have something until you can get a fully committed artist down the line. Overworld would be handled by one artist, combat art handled by another artist, etc. . 3) Nevertheless, please take your time with this. This project was first and foremost a hobby for you and your team but people have other priorities in life. Giving tools/some sandbox to the community would probably be the way to have the community be engaged during periods of release droughts in addition to the subscription artwork.
