Added 2023-04-20 01:16:12 +0000 UTCIn case anyone's interested, here's what my sketches have been looking like these days. I always start with that little postage-stamp-sized sketch that's in the upper right, and this one got a second to try a higher vantage point that I decided I didn't like. The larger sketch on the left is then what I transfer onto the board using a projector, the "old school" way. Lately I've been making an effort to not get carried away with structure and details on these, instead trying to use them just to locate where things go. The tiny sketch then becomes a map of where the big lights and darks will go. Usually they're not worked out as far as this one was, but I was pleased that the full-sized piece came out pretty close.
