Kelsie and Dee Painted in Acrylic

So... apparently I've been a little distracted this week.  I actually painted this piece with Kelsie and Dee in acrylic on board several days ago, and then it's just been sitting around the studio.  Oops!  I'll get it listed on Ebay later this evening.

Also, I've been experimenting with making some "cartoon" versions of the dames.  Three have been done so far, and I've posted them over at www.behindandysdames.com.

Kelsie and Dee Painted in Acrylic

Thanks! Feels like some kind of progress, anyway. I do feel like I'm getting a slightly better grip on the whole painting process. I'm hoping to start another one later today.

Every time! Especially since Dee has the only paddle.

does the loser at table tennis always get this treatment ? LoL

Nice Dutch angle for the composition...in fact, this piece can work both horizontally and vertically, one with the energy flowing upward and the other with it flowing downward. It's curious to see what and how intent changes when flipping back and forth between the two. Either way, I have to admit I dig the fiendish look in Dee's face, especially her eyes; nice to see a seasoned pro enjoying her craft. I also really like how you achieved the transparency in Dee's nightie over her right boob and elsewhere, very believable. I'd say too you are getting a good handle on building up those thin washes, as in the Sasha painting. And from a purely personal angle, good to see Dee is a southpaw!

Thanks! Not to worry, the cartoons are just an experiment to possibly appeal to a slightly different market. They won't replace my typical look, at least not anytime soon. I may, however, use them to develop specific tricks and techniques and then bring the best parts into my regular work. Right now, I'm using them to experiment with different ideas about how to split up colors to make serigraphs. The Dee cartoon is the leader in that department at the moment. I also like the inks in that one.

Nice piece, good poses! The cartoon pieces sure look cartoony. Not to say they don't look good, but I prefer your normal style.
