Anya

How about one more Anya painting?  Sounds good to me.  I just wish I could figure out how to make the scans look more flattering to the original.  Not sure if it's an adjustment thing, or the fact that it's a cheap scanner, or what...

Regardless, she's Ebay item # 282557732109.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm feeling pretty positive about the direction this is going. There were a lot of previously where I wished I could do something with the colors, but couldn't. Now when I think of adding color or adjusting values, I can just get in there and do it.

As I said on the stream, I think your blending is coming together very well. The combination of the layers and the blending...you're really moving forward there, I think. I also dig the green, which sets her figure off nicely, as well as being integral in some of the reflected light passages on her body. It also contributes to the 3-D form created by your blending and layering, especially on that side of her body. Indeed, her left boob in particular is about as three-dimensional as I've seen you do. It's cool that you can blend so much more of the soft transitions in these paintings than you can do with the markers, as you mentioned on the stream. In addition, the nervous smile on Anya's face delivers a nice emotional punch to the piece. In that regard, I think the faces are getting stronger too.

Thanks!

Ah Anya, those doe eyes, and her other "attributes". So innocent (not). Great work as always Andy.

I'll try not to get my beret screwed down too tight!

Glad you liked it! I'll keep messing with the scanner and see if I can get it figured out, at least a little.

Looking mighty fine, she is! Could definitely be just the scanner that isn't powerful enough to do the painting justice, but either way, the original will always look better than a scan.

Looks great Andy. With you painting a lot of them now I'm just picturing you in a beret, a white artist smock, a brush in one hand, and your other hand straight out with the thumb up as you visualize what you're going to paint. :-)
