Full interview with Dr. Vitali Braun

Hey all,

welcome to another RAW Episode. This time I have the full unedited video of the interview with Dr. Vitali Braun from the ESA Space Debris Office. He gave some VERY interesting insights. I couldn't possibly put all of it into the episodes, so here you go enjoy and please don't share, as parts of it will be used on upcoming Episodes!

Enjoy and THANK YOU for all the support! :)

Don't worry. I'll get it out there. ;)

Things a bit worse than they wish the public to know.

Very interesting. Thanks for uploading.

Awesome Stuff Felix. Nothing beats a new piece of gear.

At 20k 15cm and up peices of debris, one would think a few starships could deploy large heavy deflectors to nudge them into decaying orbits. If they are tracked, shouldn't they be able to match the orbital trajectory in order to provide a low impact velocity? I'm imagining a rather sizable wedge of carbon fiber that can be oriented to deflect an object downward. Left in orbit, it could maneuver from the bottom up deflecting tracked debris (and whatever smaller untracked debris that happens to encounter it) into the atmosphere. In continuous operation, and 100 units, I can't see these taking too long to remove all the junk stuffs. I also don't think it would take long for satellite operators to figure out that they need to contact the operators of the cleaners or they would risk being ejected from orbit. Register and comply or lose your investment.

Thanks Felix - I see this as major problem specially with SpaceX and its Starlink, 42,000 satellites. I have posted several times on Facebook the problem we are having with space debris and will continue do so. If we want continue to go to space we have keep clean so that everyone can use it, I want to launch a satellite on the Electron Rock in the next couple years, a small one 150x150x150.

Agreed. Some of the things Braun said in the interview are absolutely shocking. Now we know, why there will be no Starlink above 500 km and at the poles. Because it's not possible anymore.

The average per son has no idea and I'm guessing neither do some of those who should know better.

Thank you Felix for uploading another RAW Patron video 🚀

Thank you Felix!
