Welcome to Episode 104 of What about it!?

In this Episode, we will take a look at how SpaceX is adapting to the environment in Boca Chica Texas. We will also take a look at the latest preparations before Starship SN5 does more testing. Last but not least we will take a look at NASA's Perseverance rover. What makes it special and what are the last steps before launch?

A couple of interesting items from Boca Chica, the construction of a “Block House” or “Launch Control Center” does seem plausible due to its construction of solid concrete walls (Looks like a concrete roof being formed currently) however the close proximity to the test stand who suggest that this structure may be for other means, maybe for sensitive ground support equipment. I am sure the answer will unveil itself in due course. The other item which is interesting is the new observation platform, hopefully we can spot it’s actual location in the next RGV Aerial Photography flyover.

I wouldn't be surprised if the static firing and the 150 meter hop were combined into one operation. Why shut it down when you just got it to run. Turn it off only to turn it back on again for the hop? That doesn't sound like good planning to me. You do the static fire to see if it runs. You'll know that 20 seconds in. Big deal, you really haven't accomplished much or moved the schedule forward. So the real question is: Are there landing gear on SN5? I don't recall seeing any or that I was shown by any other channel, but getting photos once they reach the test stand is sort of given out only by SpaceX only. They are so tiny they are very hard to see from a distance photo. They have wasted a lot of time after the explosion and the holidays. I sense the pressure to move forward is strong and there is no increased danger in adding the hop if they think it's ready for it. Which is another reason why I think we've been waiting so long.
