Here I am hoping to read more of this story. Its definitely a slower burn but I also see a ton of potential.

Making useful people their friends, keeping polite face at the enemies (and stabbing them in the back when they turn around and nobody's watching) — okay, that's basic reasonable behaviour, you can expect that from a Ravenclaw too (perhaps without "stabbing in the back" part), they're a smart bunch, should be able to figure it out — but still, politeness is really cheap and can buy you a lot, right? Especially if you've just met a very poweful wizard with a promising future who seems to be looking to make some new friends... nope, let's start with an open disdain and/or hostility, that's the cunning thing to do! Oh well, I guess the 10+ years of Snape heading the House really did quite some damage to the House values, didn't they? P.S. Hermione, the guy's been studying that stuff for ten years, surely you don't expect him to teach it all to you in a 6-hour train ride?

2021-12-30 00:47:12 +0000 UTCI like the way Harry's being characterised here - of course a boy taken from his abusive family and raised and trained by a rotation of incredibly powerful witches and wizards would be shy and unsure of himself! I can't wait until Malfoy gets it in to his head to ambush him and 'puncture his inflated ego,' only to get his arse handed to him!
