One thing I would add is that when they went dark, they also didn’t celebrate Lee Know’s birthday (October 25) — the announcement of Woojin’s leaving came a few days later (October 28) — so according to STAYs at the time, that was the most concerning tell that something was wrong. I can’t imagine how uncertain everyone must have felt.

That is why some old stays don't like to talk about wj and why gods menu+ stays (that had/have zero affection towards him) kinda resent him.

2023-07-29 00:51:42 +0000 UTCThe boys in the intro was still hurting with everything that happen and woojin leaving...the fact that he left 2 wks prior their comeback was not right at all...all JYPE announced he left personal reason...anyways the boys had to post poned the rrlease and redo do the songs and line distribution...everything took a toll of them mentally and emotionally..and if i was not mistaken they were also preparing for their 1st concert too....there are videos out there of when this occurred and their ment...their biggest fear was of losing STAY cuz of this...i love them boys to the moon and back...

It was such a bad timing and a stressful period for the kids, that even if he followed his heart to be a solo artist, at least he could show a little respect for the rest of members because he put in jeopardy all of their dreams as well, like he wasn't the only one trying to be someone in the industry. I'm happy that he's happy now being a solo artist, and the kids are achieving every single thing they've been dreaming of and keeping rising the bar flawlessly every comeback ✨️ but yeah, it's bittersweet thinking about him...

In Life and Noeasy are the closest ones that have ever threatened to unseat it but since those were full albums I usually ended up having one or two songs I didnt love on them. Levanter, my queen. She deserved better than what she got

2023-07-28 04:03:53 +0000 UTCOk so the reason why Woojin was in Double Knot and not Levanter is because Double Knot was released as a single first before Woojin left. In fact, the reason why Stray Kids were struggling so much at the time is because Woojin left right before they were about to have the Levanter comeback. Its why the album was pushed back. All the music videos for the Levanter comeback were already shot, the music was recorded, the promo pics/album pics already shot and printed and then out of nowhere its revealed that Woojin is no longer in Stray Kids. Everything that has been recorded/shot for Levanter now had to be redone. Music videos have to be redone/ edited, 3racha and the rest of skz had to rerecord the entire album and then redo the entire structure of the songs to fit 8 members instead of 9. On top of that, they also had to rearrange their choreography and relearn it with different positions since the og choreo was made for 9 not 8. They had to do all of this while also having to pick up the pieces after Woojin's departure. The reason why Levanter is such a sentimental album to Stay is because once the news of Woojin's departure was released, Stray Kids went dark. They stopped posting on all social media for weeks. Chan's room was abrubtly halted, no lives or updates from them at all which is unheard of for skz. Stray Kids are usually very active on social media. They update regularly and go live at least 2-3 times a week so when skz went dark, Stays were VERY worried. The fandom was very anxious as there were no updates at all so when skz finally came back with Levanter it was a huge relief. It was such an uncertain time for everyone and Stray Kids suffered a lot. Channie, our poor Channie, he blamed himself for everything and apologised to Stay for not being able to keep the group together. Hyunjin broke down in tears on stage begging Stays to not leave, he was so overwhelmed. To this day we dont know why Woojin was departed from Stray Kids or the circumstances surrounding it, but it was a very dark and difficult time for Stray Kids and Stay. All of this is why Stayville feels some type of way regarding Woojin. There's a lot of negative feelings/memories during that time and we never got any answers or closure. This album is basically a reasurance from Stray Kids to Stay that their journey isn't over and are still here and to not worry, that they'll continue on. Thankfully, they found their footing and became even stronger and released their next album which was their first full album Go Live with God's Menu which kickstarted their career and cemented them as the pioneers of 4th gen and created the malatang genre

We follow them on their journey of becoming Stray Kids, questioning themselves and who they are to self-discovery and determination to achieve dreams. As they continue to struggle to succeed and deal with self-doubt, during this time for the next album or two, you see them find their sound and confidence and start to fully own who they are. They begin to embrace being different and embrace criticism by saying "hate all you want," we won't be anything other than ourselves. We will make music that we like. Which all leads up to now where they are owning being the Stray Kids fully. The albums are their journey from boys to men and as artists. I find it very inspiring.

This might come as a surprise considering all the bangers they made since before debut but they only started being really popular in Korea recently. Ever since their early days they refused to alter their style to appeal more to the Korean general public, they kept doing their thing and eventually got the recognition for their creative music style. I'm just so proud I feel like I'm gonna cry now lol

SKZ did a performance video for English double knot and the choreo is 🔥 Levanter English version is my second favorite. It is so beautiful and touches my soul. I love , love this album. As for Woojin, you can see the pain in this intro and it breaks my heart to see them so sad. I won’t say anything else about WJ. As the saying goes…If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

2023-07-28 00:05:30 +0000 UTCOur lightstick is called nachimbong, it's a wordplay on the word "compass" in Korean (pronounced nachimban) and the word "rod" (pronounced bong), we all know how stray kids love a nice wordplay! It's got a loose spinning compass as an indicator of being "stray", they touched on the topic in several of their songs. However, a new nachimbong version was released recently (literally last month) and the compass doesn't spin anymore (it has a screen now btw!) which could be a way of them trying to say they're not stray anymore, they finally made their name known, found their path and music color and will continue in their new-found road ❤️

Woojin left about a month or so before their comeback, meaning they had to re-record, edit videos and rearrange choreography for 8 instead of 9. I can’t imagine the stress they were under. I highly recommend (either on your own time or for a reaction) watching the District 9: Unlock in Seoul ments. OH and the re-recorded albums are called SKZ2020 and SKZ2021

But their unlock tour was a really emotional time for everyone. I'd definitely suggest watching the DVD if you can find it! They talk a lot about how they felt after he left. STAY had made them a special video that they showed at the end of the concert. That's when everyone started crying lol

The guys were completely shaken up because all the recordings, the choreography, their unlock tour and even the MV for Levanter was done... frankly they were even recording new era of 2 kids room eps and he's there in some and all of a sudden he wasn't. The rest of them definitely didn't know Woojin had plans to leave and that's why they struggled so much.
