OLD - Our patreon page is now a "tip jar", no more consistent posts

We've been going back and forth on whether we should close our patreon or not. But ultimately we decided to keep it open as a tip jar of sorts and if we post it will only be for fun.

While we've been getting a good amount of attention on the demo on itch, it's super not translating to new patrons. With 1 new patron we lost 2 which means we're actually down 1 since releasing the demo. We had big plans to release little snippets of the game pretty consistently to entice people to become patrons but this plan is clearly not going to work out.

The pressure that we NEED to make posts that we've promised doesn't make sense when the amount of time and effort it takes completely dwarfs the amount of money we make for it (both the text posts and the playable things). For us to treat it like a job means we're be working for a fraction of minimum wage. And we hoped that we were building something and things would change with the demo but it's not changing, so it's becoming painfully obvious we cannot justify taking it "seriously" like work.

With that said, we might want to make posts here from time to time anyway, for fun or just to share stuff that we think is cool. So I guess at this point we're saying we might post sporadically, or not. Who knows.

If you still want to be a patron beyond this point in time, don't think of it as a transaction where you pay us and then you're guaranteed to get something in return. It'll be more like a tip jar.

Feel free to stop being a patron or reduce your amount, there's no obligation to stick around! Sorry we promised stuff and then aren't able to deliver, thanks for being understanding! If you do stay patrons, then you're super kind and we're really grateful!

We're really grateful for everyone that's been a patron so far, both for the monetary support and just the emotional support too knowing that people care and are excited enough, that has been really lovely. <3
