June 4th to June 17th

Hey hi folks! I've recovered from my trip, and I've been busy drawing! Like, a lot! I've uploaded most of what I've been working on, and another piece I want to share is of a slightly sensitive nature so I'll be posting about it separately. I want to make sure I share it with you all in a way that doesn't make anyone uncomfortable.

I've been keeping up my Dark Souls 2 design delve, and we're getting to the interesting bits! We've already encountered our first DLC (integrated into the Scholar of the First Sin version) and we're about to go down the single path that leads us to the end. But, ah, there's still a TON of things to do, so we're not done yet!

Since this is a very long design delve, I've been breaking it up with more speedrunning! While I do plan on going back to Oni at some point, right now I'm enamored with The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past Randomizer (or Zelda 3 Randomizer for short). I did a let's play of it a while back, and now I'm working up the skill to do some friendly races with people I know! I've also made a little map of it to help navigate - check the previous post to see it! ^^

I've still got some commissions to do, but this week is RemakeJam week - a game jam that challenges us to remake our very first game. For me, that was Bump & Screech Mailing Service, a delivery game (that, mechanically, was really just a top-down shooter). I want to use all the skills I've learned to turn it into Bounce & Squeak Delivery Service, an isometric driving game about a mouse delivering packages! We'll see how far I can get in a week, but I'm very motivated to get this done; game jams tend to bring out the best in me, gamedev-wise, and I want to make this count. I'll keep you all updated on my progress!

I also have a new Oh My Gush episode coming up soon; there have been delays in recording it, but we should get to it soon! I lost some patrons at the start of the month, but we're back up to the biweekly goal now so I think I can make this happen more regularly now.

Thanks again for your support; it's still hard to make this freelance thing work, but good gosh, I want to get to a point of sustainability - and you're making the biggest difference in the world. I wouldn't be here without you. Take care, and let's keep making wonderful things together! 💙
