February 23rd to March 7th

Hey hi folks! It's been a quiet two weeks of caretaking, but it's also been a gradual return to my usual activities: streaming and writing. And it feels really good to be making things again!

I'm hard at work on Plant Lamp, my next light novel; I've passed the 6k word mark, which means it's 50% the size of Feline Therapy—and I haven't gotten to where the plot really gets going yet. I'm estimating it'll probably be close to Squid Maids/Cat Wishes in size (~20k), but it might also go a bit over. I'll keep you posted as I go! It's a book with a large cast and that can be tricky to pull off; thankfully, writing Penelope And The Council taught me some good lessons that I'm putting to good use here.

I've also written another small short story that I might share here soon! Much like ELEN, it'll be Patreon-only for the time being. It's really liberating to write small snippets like these and I'm glad I have a way to share them with y'all.

I also got to be on GDQ Hotfix's Frost Fatales marathon! I showed off Space Mouse and CosmoTank, two space-themed games that I love dearly. It was a wonderful adventure and also tuckered me right out. I'm glad I'm taking it slower event-wise this year.

Finally, I got to go to a local gamedev event here in Montreal and do a microtalk on Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken, my favorite new anime! I'll see if I can turn that talk into something I can share on here. Speaking of that show, it's inspired me to experiment with animation, so I'll see if there's anything I can show you on that front sometime! Animating is so hard but also so rewarding??

You know, now that I re-read what I just wrote, I guess the last two weeks weren't as quiet as I thought, huh. Funny how that works! Thanks again for helping me do all this, by the way. I realize that it's been what, a year and a half since I published a book that wasn't a sequel? Plant Lamp is long overdue, and the more I work on it, the more excited I get to share it with you. I literally couldn't make a career out of this without your support, and for that, you have my heartfelt gratitude. Let's keep making wonderful things together!💙
