After my vacation-turned-medical-leave I've been ramping back up to working mode and while it's been an uphill battle, I've been making sure to pace myself. I also started drawing again, which is really motivating for someone in constant battle with artist's block! (You can see my contribution to mermay 2021 in the previous patreon post.)
I've also been preparing for some upcoming events, such as Power Up With Pride, which starts this coming Friday! You can tune in then for a very queer marathon of speedruns and community content—I'll be sure to link you all to it when it goes live, especially since 1) it's for a good cause and 2) me and some friends will be closing out the marathon with a special showcase! ^^
Otherwise, writing continues, art continues, and general production of my long-delayed kickstarter goals & rewards continues as well. The next thing you see should be the second Cat Wishes short story, Tora's First Day, which I've been working on for a while now! Some of the techniques I've been trying in the mermay piece served as good practice for the art in that one, so I'm feeling hopeful again. And, of course, there's the comic zine; that one's changed so much in terms of content and scope since the crowdfunding campaign that gave it life, and I'll be really happy to share it with you all once it's in sharing shape.
In the meantime, please keep taking care of yourselves, and more importantly, pacing yourselves. It's surprisingly easy to burn ourselves out without realizing it, as the past few weeks (and months) have shown me. So let's be kind to all of our selves, and let's keep making wonderful things together.💙
