Shock value for shock value's sake dressed up.with enough humor and marketability to hit the profit formula. If you want great horror, try Cabin In The Woods, The Thing, Army Of Darkness, Tucker And Dale Vs Evil, Suspiria (1977, not the remake), Psycho Goreman, Trick r Treat, Let The Right One In, and Shadow Of The Vampire.

You went from watching some pretty subtle horror movies to one of the most intense horror films I have ever seen. I am sorry you jumped straight to watching this, please don't let it ruin horror for you. Wish you could have seen the shock on my face when I saw this title posted.
