I told you a long time ago that a good story teller can always balance between the act of good and evil and George RR Martin is a GREAT storyteller. I apologize for not feeling too bad for you when John was murdered but i sure felt good waiting for you to see him take his first breath. You're one of the many GoT addicts. You can never give up until the final credits like the rest of us. Had you truly quit any of the times you said you were, look at all the wonders you would have missed so far. As well as Shadowbinding, she has the ability of Elemental Control (fire), Divination (in the flames) and she also has the ability of Glamouring (a magical illusion), over herself and others, which is described as: — "Glamoring: Some wizards and sorcerers can change their appearance or the appearance of others by using light and shadow. Some glamors are associated with specific objects. Years of practice can be needed for effective glamor use." + "The object of the glamor wears an item to maintain the spell, such as a ruby or a moonstone. Sorcerers usually need to study for years before they are able to create a glamour. Some red priests believe that glamours are made possible through R'hllor, the Lord of Light." That's what she's doing, it's a glamour spell to keep herself young. It's either because she is actually old af, because the power that works through her from the Lord of Light drains her life force, or because she is being kept alive until she completes her mission from R'hllor... Either way the necklace helps her appear more attractive and striking, and that would likely help if her mission was to be at the side of the Prince Who Was Promised or to convert people to her religion.

When Melisandre works magic, the ruby setting glows with power, and it may be able to burn her if the magic worked is particularly demanding."

It's just a vague disguise spell, but the way they portrayed it on the show is with the necklace to make it an easy visual. But in an earlier season Melisandre was naked in a bath talking to Stannis' wife and didn't have the necklace on.

The show was juggling 8 million viewers -- and that's just counting the U.S. Our a$$es had to wait a year! Social media was set ablaze! 🤣 The world was ready to storm HBO headquarters. A least you were only played for less than a week. Now the ish get's GOOD. S6 is (in my opinion) the best season.
