keeps talking about "vile, dark, savage" ENERGIES
freaks out, when an elevator is mentioned
sees behind the veil
deciphers the whole "LSD expands consciousness, all u need to do is just take it" trap of the hippie era
still, I will be forever grateful for what those kids have done for the society.

On Acid you're not literally seeing monsters, but people can seem pretty strange, and totally normal things no longer have any meaning to you. You're basically hopelessly confused and desperately trying to appear normal ... for like a 10 hours

UPDATE: so i watched this 3 times now and it make sense to me...so my boy went to Vegas...1 for a meeting/work...2 to write on the American dream. now when i realized that this is the mid 70s and they are coming out of the hippy era of the 60's it make sense that this about the American dream. i feel like the "American dream" means something different now then it did in the 60s. the wave that hit them in the 60s was about freedom and peace and i guess you can say justice. and when the dust settled from that wave those who were there to witness this was left empty handed. that moment of bliss was special but they eventually had to return to the reality of this cold cold world we live in. the drug scene back then was a form of mental freedom and for some maybe even a spiritual thing. However just like any other drug once the high comes down your left with less then what you started with (referring to his closing statements of the movie) the LSD wave brought in hope and freedom in way that was unseen before but by the end of it it was all an illusion of freedom and we cant escape the real world no matter how far you expand your mind. Also i feel like this move is about Hedonism. He took on the "Vegas mindset" and pushed it to the limit. Hedonism is about pleasure. If we are being honest its about freedom to sin without thought of consequence. to live in the moment. to indulge in whatever we see fit. to take part in and do WHATEVER WE WANT. i think that's also an underlying level to the "American Dream" so he took absurd amounts of drugs because WELP WHY NOT IM IN VEGAS. and due to that mindset it gives reason to get a drugged up as possible and gamble or do whatever the flesh wants. in the end it doesn't mean anything and i think that's why he questioned if he chose Vegas because he thought it would be the perfect place for the paper he was working on or is this just the perfect place for hedonism. i think this is an incredible movie and can be studied on a college level in psychology classes. it shows the human condition and the state of our hearts. seekers of pleasure. living only for the moment and willing to put our bodies through whatever for the sake of that pleasure. what ever that means to you....
