Dev Log #82 - The second half of 2024 begins!
Added 2024-06-28 22:00:06 +0000 UTCHi all! Time has flown for the better half of this year! It feels like yesterday since I committed myself full-time to the development of Cara in Creekmaw, and I'm heartened and glad to see that many of you are supporting the development of the game and it is thanks to everyone's support that I can continue to do what I do best!
Let's get into it!
Free-roam development update
With the number of renders of the free-roam already fast-approaching 1000 (not counting the opening renders before the free-roam), I'm still using the remaining time in June to develop the rest of the free-roam, with the scenes finalized and the dialogue awaiting polish and re-iteration!
I've also been developing the game's music, leaning more into the mystery aspect of the game that has been peppered into previous episodes. Growing up, I have always cherished the Ace Attorney series as my number one in terms of character development and its excellent use of audio which accompanies its moments, and I'm looking to incorporate a similar feeling into Cara in Creekmaw, along with other more famous aspects from the Ace Attorney series!
What's after the free-roam?
Following my usual structure of previous episodes, follow-up scenes past the free-roam will open up to involve more characters and continue the story! It is slightly difficult to discuss since it will almost always be spoilers, but rest assured that development is always ongoing!
When's the next release?
The next release will include July's side story (Suyin's pregnancy cravings, the winning side story) as well as curated render requests (think short stories of 15-30 renders) with dialogue included by yours truly!
While the time is not yet confirmed, it will be something I'll touch base on in a few dev logs, so stay tuned!

The quick-menu has not been altered in any way, however, the issue raised is duly noted and I will look into it! Sorry for the inconvenience!

2024-07-06 12:39:09 +0000 UTCupdate: so the ENHANCED 4k edition really shifts the bottom menu off screen. If im running window mode, u cant see it, and if u are running fullscreen mode, it's barely a quarter of the width of the screen in the bottom right. Even when i entered the "A" menu to toy around with the line spacing and width, it's still shifted down, and i think it's because it's being pushed down by the 4k images. The monitor is rerendering those images scenes to fit the screen but the menu is not being rendered to adjust to the scaling of the images. Can you re-enable the "quick menu" options that are default from renpy so that we can move the quickmenu up/down and left/right and adjust its size then? at least i can barely catch the tip of that "auto" button now to click on it.777

2024-07-05 20:04:52 +0000 UTCJust downloaded the game. 2 questions: 1- is there a walkthrough for the episode 2 or is it part of the game now? 2- is there a way to enable the renpy bottom menu? I used to be able to turn on "auto" for the text scrolling and sometimes turn it off depending on mood or context, but this game doesnt have that, and i'd rather not have to constantly click with my mouse while i'm smoking my shisha lol.
